Thread: Got a new rocket launcher from Cu

I am staring at it right now and it still isn't growing on me anymore than the squeeky wheel blasters You are right, it does have the best stats it seems for any of the rifles, but with all the antique ships coming out and now an ancient rifle. I got the feeling from the original documents that Scout Blasters,DL44's and E-11's etc would be coming more to the forefront not these ancient weapons. The Tusken Rifle is cert'd pretty high in the Rifleman trees, but it doesn't look likea blaster either really. The T21 is a good reference of where I was hoping a game taking place between EpIV and EpV would be used more often. Had you rather see a Player in ST armor carrying a Massassi Ink Rifle or a T21 or an E-11 is what it boils down to.


I guess this is a little more from high hopes of making the game more star warsy as the enhancements included with the CU balancing. The Proton Rifle, Proton Carbine, E5 Carbine, and just about any other of the new weapons would fit the commando role better adding in an assault rifle we have been begging for. Give the TK's the knucklers since it is matching the rest of their weapons (Blacksun Knuckler and Vibroknuckler) and give us the Blaster Fist Cert as it seems to fit us more. Give the Massassi Ink Rifle to Rifleman as some ancient and powerful hunters rifle and find a blaster looking weapon for us to use... I don't want our upgrade weapons to be something that look like they have been raided from some tomb and had dust blown off of them and equipping it to go running down the gleaming white corridors of the vette firing it at NPC's holding the weapons that are more filling of our role of being elite soldiers.


Backstory or no... there is no place in my vision of a Commando for some artifact tobe used by anelite soldier serving in an army during a galactic civil war where technology is part of the awe inspiring fun of a game in the Star Wars realm. Sorry for the rant, and I see your point Garvin. It is just disappointing that we could possibly get shafted by not gaining any of the new weapons besides ancient artifacts from the preclone war era as our new certs.


Hope it grows on ya though I know it won't on me. I also hope the dmg on it gets turned down some and it fill a lesser cert for something that just looks more like the blasters we allcame to love in star wars.

No kidding mate... I am still sitting on my BH helm with no real means of getting a squad to stick through the DWB just to make me a helmet with them getting nothing out of it.

its got that blade on it.





Everyone can do that now. The skills are certed in the marksman trees for rifle/pistol/carbine.


I'd personally prefer the Massassi Ink Rifle to be a situational thing. It may have great stats, but I'd much rather swap it for another weapon (or at least another skin). As mentioned earlier, it just doesn't 'feel' right for a modern commando's best weapon to look so old.


It'd be like Delta Force running around with a magical Flintlock made by Atlanteans.

Personally, I would like that LD-40 Rifle or L40, it looks like an elephant gun or something, very classy. Or that High Velocity Sniper Rifle, they're both tight.


OR the underslung carbine *cough cough*


I think the weapon sounds/effects for the noob guns are a bit lackluster, they could use some sharper more sophisticated touches. It's a month until launch though =)


Grenades effects are pretty sharp, I love em. Also, the new rocket launcher/HPBC/HLB/HAB weapons look extremely good, too bad we can't shoot them yet =(. Also I'm itching to try the flamer, I hope it's a constant stream of fire now hehehe

i am talking BOTH classess of specials, RANGED AND MELEE usable with 1 weapon, use ranged specials when its far away, and switch to melee specials when its up close!


wasnt there a thread talking about something like this awhile ago?

i don't want consumable weapons, I want more of the regular weapons like everyone else in this game. Great I'm glad the new consumables look awesome, now can we have some NEW weapons that don't run out?

I'm surprised you guys aren't madder over Heavy Weapon Speed and Accuracy seeming to be valid stats now.

The Massassi Ink Rifle does not fit commando at all IMO. It would look better equipped on a Tusken Raider as scavanged as it looks. I liked the feel of the CU last night, but many changes woulda been left alone. I.E. The freaking shockwaves from melee on every hit connected blow looks hokey and the new blaster sounds are actually more abnoxious than a 10 yr old grocery cart with a squeaky wheel rolling down a supermarket isle stopping every few seconds. Honestly, I kinda ignored the blaster sound effects last night paying more attention to looking for bugs etc... but today on logging in. I couldn't stand the sound so just started looking over the skill trees and seeing what changes were made to current. Why did they have to change the blaster sounds? Was it unbalancing or some evil april fools? Is it bothering anyone else as much as it did me?


I like the looks of the new launchers... now will they be worth using is the next thing to find out. I am really interested in finding out who gets the proton carbine and proton rifle. If it seems we are possibly getting the ink rifle... guess they would go to carbineer and rifleman respectfully. The only other one I noticed that I couldn't find a cert for was the explosive shell sniper rifle that would fit commando.


We still never did get an assault rifle... and the ink rifle sure as heck is not one.
