I wish you luck in this. Once you see the subcomponents, and time required to make a single stack of grenades, you may have a much deeper understanding of why you never see grenades on vendors.

im not a commando at all, but im trying the method using c12 grenades. i have a weaponsmith make me 10 crates of them at 20k per crate and the damage is 864 unsliced, un puped. if i spend another 2k for a stack of 10 powerup kits, i can get each nade up to around 1300 max damage.

mastered: scout/ranger/squadleader/marksman/swordsman/brawler/fencer/tka/
current template: Master Swordsman/ Master Brawler/ Master Fencer/ 4-0-0-1 tka +12 fs melee speed. speed capped 2 hand goodness.

not only have i found a ws to do this,but the componets and time is really not that long. the only thing that is truly hard is getting top resources, if u have some harvestors or can buy resources its super easy,especially if u have ever grinded a crafting prof.. just buy a few factories and in about 2 days u can make a whole mess of nades. just start by making 1 of each componet then take them to a ws and have him make the actual nade schematic that way u dont have to go back to him anymore. so anyone who says it takes so long must not have the resources. and if the weaponsmith is any good he should have a slew of resources that are top quality and if u actually check the resources,the only hard ones to get are thoranium steel and crism silicastic ore(maybe 1 other), all others are really basic and easy to find in good quality. and even if it takes a week to make 100 crates is not that bad considering the xp you get. its not as if it takes a month to make a single nade.

I suggest to get lvl4 tactics for the accuracy and for thermal detonators,plus u get a little bit of defenses to

A while back b4 i knew about this little trick at all... i thought to myself *Hey, y not master commando.... then slwoly work up the WS tree like i had done b4... munitions are fun...* sadly.... i can't pull both to master.... lacking fu*king 11 skill points... *sighs*

ok, heres a couple of things:

im starting to work towrds master commando now. already 4/0/2/0. im also tkm. just picked up smuggler so now i slice my own grenades and also feign death. i contracted two different master weaponsmiths and bought 25 cases for 900k credits. it took a couple of days but they came through perfectly. they also made me enough grenade powerups for all of them. so...

i make uber combat xp, slicing xp, have uber grenades, and get extra money from the missions i pull plus have a template thatll set up nicely once im done with the fs grind. if you guys need any help send me a PM. Im on flurry server almost daily.

oh and lastly, i dont even bother with the good creature lairs anymore. i go after jantas on datn now in a solo group to make good money, good loot and each janta/mokk is worth 5500+ combat xp with about five of them per lair and over 30k in credits per lair. using grenades gets you combat xp soooo fast that you dont need to worry about not making those four FS skill boxes within 3 weeks. casually grinding mokks/jantas ive done the whole branch for ranged accuracy in one week leaving me two weeks to build up extra fs xp and also still have fun in the game. hope this helps =)

p.s. not a commando? using c12s? toss out 5 per lair to double or tripple your combat xp. dont try to kill whole lair using just c12s. bad idea.

'nade Powerups? I didnt know you could get pups for 'nades. What are they called and are they a WS item or Artisan?

Not a commando here, but climbing swords and rifles. I got about 330k combat xp last night in 2 buff sessions with C12 grenades. Proabably spent about 150k on the C12 's. I had to run missions to buy more, then use them and repeat. I learned not to kill the lair with them. I do attack the lair with the grenades after a first start hitting it with my sword. I like to get some of the critters to spawn and join the ones that are already there. Its more cost effective to use a grenade against a larger swarm obvisiously. I do miss fairly often and had thought maybe I should go commando, but I would then have to drop commando to get my template set for the exit quest, and I have another template in mind for padawan. I have mastered all those professions at least once, including commando (though I never used grenades back then) and dont want to master them to many more times. They are effective if you are buffed and pick your prey carefully. I recommend wild lairs. I take a couple missions and watch for choice lairs that are wild. I like to take wild piket lairs with swordsman, and with the c12 quenkers or hurtons (howlers at least). I have not found a good choice yet for rifleman but once I hit master I will be set with strafeshot2 and use swordsman spin attack2 if I get rushed. So I should be able to get 900k swords, 900k rifles, and 300k combat. I should find some good lairs on Dathomir though to cut down on travel time, as the combat xp might cap before the buff session ends.

Like standard weapon powerups they are made bymaster artisans and come in the usual flavours I'm using +33 max damage ones at the moment, so my Imp Detonators have their max damage increased from the normal 2280 to about 3000. That makes a massive difference!!!!

Actually you dont need to be a master artisan. If you have 4400 artisan you already have all the skill points to experiment with. Being master only grants you added stuff to make not anymore experimentation points. Thats what I did before to make my own pups. It took me about 20 min or less if you have the resources to get 4400 artisan,then I jsut tried different resources and made a schematic, dropped artisan all together.

I just discovered you can max combat XP in under 30 minutes


Go to some faction bases....run around to agro ALL the npcs, run into the base and start throwing pup'd protons you'l get damage too but it's not that badwhen you're buffed. I tried it yesterday on 1 small and 1 medium reb base and got 120k combat XP in less than 10 minutes

I dropped Creature Handler and scout and picked up master marksman and 4000 commando simply for this reason.
