I would rather have had a special sort of commando armor myself, but I guess I can settle for Mandalorian, hehe

Thats basically what Mandalorian armor is. Only reason everyone says its "bounty hunter" armor is because Jango and Boba wore it. They weren't mandalorians, they just had the armor. The true mandalorians were...well...play KOTOR and find out more.

Well, if it is so difficult to get, i would think it would be better than comp. If it is not, then why bother. I do agree that comp is already too good, but it would be odd if Mando armor is not better.

Also, it is already confirmed that Mando armor is only certified at MASTER level. So that will either make people get master, or that many less people want to get/try to get Mando armor

Something that was posted in another forum that I think folks will find interesting:

Wearing Mandalorian Armor will require Master levels of the respective professions that are allowed to wear it.

Star Wars Galaxies

So this is yet another way the armor will be rare and finally a perk for being a Master Commando (or Master BH, Master SL & Master Ranger)...I know a few Commandos have expressed the desire to see the Cert at the Master level, so I figured I'd post this info...

"The ONLY reference in the Star Wars Universe to mandalorian armor is in the Fett family. This is a unique item that is better-off being left out of the game than being layed int he hands of too many players. This will take away that Star Warsy feel."

Incorrect. I suggest you do more background work then watching the movies. There are references (not alot but more then 1 or 2)in various RPG, novels, and comic/graphic novels to Mandalorian armor and Mandalorians AFTER a New Hope. Case in point, Jodo Kast. Look him up sometime, he's a second rate Bounty Hunter that also wears Mandalorian, living offf the Boba Fettstigma to getbetter rates on his bounties. That is until Fett catchs him and kills him for living off his image.Boba Fett also has more then one set of this armor. How do you think he replaced his acid eaten armor that wasn't much more then slag on his acid burned body after he crawled out of the Sarlacc's stomach.

Star Wars isn't "just" the movies, it isn't "just" the books, it's all of it combined. Do commando's deserve a run at this armor, yes, if you don't like it, don't get it.

I do not know how hard it will or won't be to get.

I do not know if I will ever get any.

I do like the thought of the possibility of having it, and it being REALLY good armor.

This is great. But, I wonder if every SPECIES will be allowed to wear it. I can see bringing my little DE in with the gang, crafting the armour, only to find my Master Commando can't wear the helmet 'cause he's Trandoshan. Already figure any gloves and boots are out for him. Like the helmet he got in the Rebel Themepark...nice reward, too bad it don't fit. Well, it was pink anyway. Gave it to my DE for her harvey runs. lol And what about Wookiee Commandos? Will this be armour Wooks can wear? Where will Twilek leku go? How about Zabrek horns?

This statement is exactly right, but your conclusions are all wrong.

You state what I state, there are only a couple references to this armor, all of it Fett's.

You go on to say that another guy wore it, yes I'm aware of that. The dead guy, and Fett again has all the armor.

Yes, Fett had 2 sets of this armor. Yet again, only Fett has any.

So, technically, your conclusion that I should read all the books instead of just watching the movies (which I have done btw being a huge SW fan) will lead me to your conclusion that everybody should have the armor because...only Fett has any?

Hmm

So I went with a group of 20 people, mostly masters, to see how far we could go in the bunker on Saturday. As it stands right now, this bunker is insanely hard, owing largely to the fact that the devs probably expect this place to be perma-camped. We got to about the 3rd big room, where the herald for the crafting sits. My best advice for people is to go only if you have a maxed out template, and about 30-40 friends. As far as weapons to bring, I would recommend the flamethrower for the DOT, the acid stream launcher (lots of them, all sliced), and the disruptor rifle if you are certed for it (AP2 acid). I think we (the tc people) are going to give it another go with 2 full groups of 20 people in a week or so.

Ancient weapons and hokey religions are no match for a rocket launcher in your backpack.
