First off to Ivoni:

1.) Great guide! Ive been a commando for awhile and find your guide extremely useful.

2.) Bump. No Nerf Bat to the commandos. To thedevs if youare reading this, didn't you alienate the commandos early on? Remember Garibaldi leaving? The damage fixes implemented should not be nerfed! BH and Commandos are the hardest profs to attain. Good tactics still kill me on any given day... regardless of my damage output andDOT specialsin PvP.

No you cant point it with a pistol like you can with a FT they dont hit as hard. the best you will see a pistoleer get something bleeding for is about 230 a tick if that and with no wounds. in pvp even less.

Great post Iv, as always. I just hope the devs read it. Its too bad that we commandos work so hard for something just to have a bunch of whiners who dont know strategy in the game to ruin it. Unfortuantly i do not have the patience like alot of you have, and if commandos get nerfed ill be finding another MMORPG to occupy my time and my monthly fees. This reminds me a bit too much of your sttandard Soap Opera drama.

Again Great post Ivoni, its great to have you in our corner.

fwg5's are being made 200+dmg without enhancements or slices. If you add krayt tissues to the handlers and droideka ehancments to the feed mechanism this is going to be350+ dmg gun in the shooting every second. 350+ DPS FWG5 HEAT is highly available.

These enhancements help out pistols way more than rifles, carbines, heavy weapons etc as the % boost compared to the boost with the big weapons is much bigger.

Pistoleers, you want to wallop..go get a fwg5 like that. Make the flamethrower look like a toy once the dot issue is fixed.

The players that complain the most to me are always the players that were clumped up orPvP like the Maginot Line. Since I'm usuallyOvert with and always with aCommando title over my head it's no secret what's going to happen. People do stupid things when they're trying to fight other players and form stupid ideas about how it works. Unbelievable to many of them what works on mobs does not always work on players on account of players being smarter then mobs (wierd but true!). If players spent a little time to organize or ran into battle with a strategy deeper then spamming Mind Shot II they'd find themselves to be far more effective.

Themajor complaint I get from people that actively PvP is thatthe Flame Throwerdoes melee damage beyond 16 meters. The special attacks can be worked around but when you're hitting a Riflemen at 60 meters with melee attacks there's not much they can do. A Master Riflemen may still win but it will definately be more then just a little Pyrric.I'm a firm believer that if I have to run to 16 meters to make a kill on a guy that can take me out anywhere in the 40+ meter dash to him I should have a pretty good chance of killing him and if I spent a good chunk of my points to get a profession it should be a **edit** fine proffession but I have to agree with them on the ranged melee attacks.

The other problems like Revenge TEFs, DoTs, and wounds are common througout a lot of classes. The special damage is high but if there were more melees we'd see them making a lot of one hit kills too (but melee balance is a completely off topic problem).

Stop all the lies and distortions to avoid a Flamethrower nerf. I have Flamethrower 4 myself, I know perfectly well how it works.Right now it's equally effective, nay, MORE effective in PvP vs. people who have buffs/armor on. The incredible wounds from burn dots means it's better for the Commando if his victim lives LONGER without incaps,so the dotcan run its course. As a Commando ILAUGH whenI run into people who are armored, that way I can give them full black health bars. In fact, on a victim with spices/buffs,the Flamethrower specialswill do so many wounds that it will send the guy into NEGATIVE permanent health once the buffs wear off, making it so he gets stuck incapped FOREVER until a CSR comes and assists him. I know this, I've done it myself. It didn't make me feel heroic or uber, but I'm sure there will be other Commandos who'll enjoy abusing this and their fellow players.

In PvE, the Flamethrower is one of the few weapons that can dish out such effective damage on mobs that are 100% resistant to its base damage type, it really means NOTHING if you hit for 0 real damage with the special, the stackable dots will work way faster and do way more damage than any bleed, on mobs like Krayts it completely bypasses any armor and resists, and only HAM delays the inevitable.

Right now this profession does incredible damage far beyond any other class's capable of in both PvP and PvE, REGARDLESS of armor or heat resists, because of the behavior of dots.

Holocron, please listen to this reasonable Commando, like you said, I'm one of those who don't want us to be gods, I want us to be balanced and fun. My fear is that you'll nerf us too harshly, and to avoid that, I would like to suggest some more reasonable changes.

1. ALL dots, burn and bleed alike, do their dot damage based on the ACTUAL damage taken from that hit, after armor/resists are factored. For example versus a Krayt, you hit for 200 on a 5000 damage base special, the target should only burn for 100 a tick instead of 2500 a tick, this would make Krayts non-trivial to solo, and would give armor some meaning in PvP going up against a Flamethrower.

2. Quarter the burn dot's wounding effects in PvP, it only exists to grief people and make us unpopular, it has no real use in PvE.

3. Change Heavy Weapons to be considered non-melee, so we don't get the ludicrous 2.5x damage bonus versus Riflemen and get those ~20k damage single hits in PvE that you see people post screenshots of.

You really are a godsend Ivoni, your posts are probably the most useful information commandos can look for. I'd also like to say yes, a combination of pistoleer and bounty hunter is far more dangerous then us defense lacking commandos. I have a friend with +92 pistol speed, and does 1200+ damage with his scatter pistol. Now thats nuts. The devs need to sit down and really work this out instead of tipping the scales from one extreme to another.

And yes, we are easily defeatable in combat if your not mildly retarded.

ps. I still hate AT-ST's
