I am inclined to agree. If anyone has read Nighthelms post then they wouldnt even bother with concerning themselves about HAR. Simply put it is a waste, it should be combined with the Flame tree and we Commando's should get a default rifle. Hunt down Nighthelms post, it is truly the best post I have ever read a work of methodiacally pratically perfectly thought out art.

Yes, many problems. Why can a non-heavy weapon class, pistoleer, use a heavy weapon and apply their specials to it when we can't apply specials from rifle, which we are REQUIRED to gain, to one of our heavy weapons, the heavy acid RIFLE. We are supposed to be the heavy weapons experts, yet pistoleers can use it better than we can. I don't care if they use it, but we should be better with it if it is going to exist.

They should move the HAR to the FT line, make it more equal too the FT, give it higher AP but leve it with no DOT. In the HAR line place, put one of two things: A line for close range combat, like using a combat knife type thing, or a line for and assault rifle, heavy duty e-web type gun.

I agree with everything that has been said about the HAR, being able to use Rifleman specials, have it cause major wounds and AP damage it could be the most feared weapon in a Commando's arsenal, good against any enemy with low acid resists and cause those with armor in PvP to actually fear a Commando coming with the HAR pulled out, a mind shot that not only does mind damage but also wound damage along with AP would gather very much respect for this profession.


And it would be Flavor of the Month as well...

How about moving the combining HAR and flamethrower lines, and moving LLC into commando. Then BH would have room for some special BH stuff?

I really dislike the rifle idea, if you want to use rifle specials be a rifleman /shrug...

HAM costs definately need to be lowered, I take -24 health when firing my FT and -129 or so when firing the HAR. I've done commando 3 times and have pretty much never used the HAR because there is no DOT, and the damage isn't as high. Now that I've finally finished mastering commando, I've played with the HAR. Resistances are the same most of the time as heat. I just revert back to the FT with DOT damage (it's faster too). They really need to rework the HAR or add new commando weapons.

I findthe Heavy Acid Rifleto be a very disappointing weapon. In general i avoid using it, unless there is no alternative. Which is too bad. I feel it should be on par with the Flame Thrower as far as damage and should havea DOT.

issues......lots of issues. At least I never think to use it...too bad a master commando is seldom little more than a 'shock trooper'

Guys I remember hearing that the HAR can eat away at armors condistion or has that changed

Instead of craptastic FT clone specials how about a:


Acid Gel 1-2 single target persistant acid burn (poison)


Acid Cloud 1-2 persistant area of effect attact that remain in effect for a certain duration and all who enter get affected


Any ideas ?

Acid would eat armor, not bounce back. So would flaming napalm but not the point
