Here is my thoughts.
1. The Har needs some major love and shoudl be put together in the FT tree.
2. Grenades need some more power a set type of stat effect and more per stack.
3. A new wep yes but not its own tree we get certification for it and you can add any specials to the heavy wep tree with the FT and the HAR andlet it work off its mods. We dont need a new tree for a wep that probably wont work to great.
4. We need some kind of melee tough ness so that when we hold our wepons we can like block some damage with our wepon or hit them with the butt of it or something.
5. Heavy wepons. We need more bang for our buck. We spend alot for not alot of charges they need to hit harder and shake things up with maybe a state effect.
And last but not least come on they have flame blankets now give us back our old Dots they complianed about not haveing any thing to use against it so you nerfed us. Now they have a tool give us back out dots that way we will become usefull again in pvp and doctors will be needed more. Its a win win situation ![]()
Here's my main concern:
We need an assault carbine or rifle with ranged specials.
I REALLY want us to have a carbine, due to the fact that rifleman are getting a higher speed cap in the near future. I think we should be firing at speed cap, thus carbine.
I think that our carbine tree could be semilar to the BH's carbine tree, as far as accuracy/speed mods go, but of course with our own special ..uh.. specials.
If this were the case, I'd say give us a medium AP, 2-3.0 ish speed, 150-200 cold damage (tight range) carbine cert'd at novice, and a HEAVY AP 2-3 ish speed, 150-200 BLAST damage carbine either at the top of our carbine tree or at master (to prevent dabblers from takin it from us. Additionally, this blast weapon would put us back in our rightful spots as the turret taker outers.) Both of these would have hella good accuracy mods when crafted, at least +15 at all ranges.
All big PvP'ers dabble in other proffessions to increase their power. Most proffs have standalone accuracy/speed mods and can just dabble in other defenses. ATM, we can only dabble in other defenses, as our weapons are standalone (yet STILL with horrible accuracy.) The implementation of these new carbines would allow us to stack up with carbineer and get some REAL good mods.
I think the flamethrower is fun, but I feel it should be a "if it's got low heat resists, or you need to start a music concert of with a bang" type weapon. I mean... it's A) Not too commando-like, and B) not too Star Wars-like. I think that this new cold carbine (look at republic commando's main weapon) would give us a commando-like feel, as well as a starwars feel.
I also really like the idea of a "commando toughness" being added to our proffession. I think we're one of the only ranged proffs that would deserve such a thing, based on our unarmed prereq, but also, commandos are battle hardened soldiers. If we don't get toughness, I suggest we get an inherant Light Armor Rating at master, (IE, when wearing comp, you have medium armor on).
I think these changes, in addition to the other suggestions of the E-Web, added melee/ranged defenses, etc. would be the saving grace to this proffesion, and making it viable in PvP, while still remaining fun, exciting, and a decent partner in PvE crime. I'm passionate about this profession, and if it goes, I'm afraid that I will to. The hope for potential here, is all that holds me to this game besides my guildies, and lots of them are leaving as is.
Stay strong commando community, we've been through a lot, and waited a while. Surely, we will be rewarded for our patience and cooperation. Being many other proffs, I'd bet money that we've got one of the tightest nit communities as far as proffessions are concerned (partially due to our gimpness I'm sure) but I don't doubt that we'd stay just as close if we got a little love and were restored (more like... put up to, don't think we've EVER been there) to our rightful spots in PvP/PvE/SWG in general.

yea, i've been asking myself the same question
