Bump

anyone got stats on it or if it does work for us?

I have only seen a couple of these for sale so far. That stats that I have seen on them has been low dmg with a speed around 5.+ They are pretty much like a upgraded E11 in my opinion.

yesterday i saw two beam rifle ( yes rifle is the name) , and one particle cannon ...

the damage is from 1800-4300 speed 4.3 sliced (speed)

The beam rifle I was bidding on was called a 'Point Blank Beam Rifle'.

It was primarily meant for point blank shots (no -50 at point blank range, more like +20 I think). It sounded too good to pass up. I just hope I'm certified to use the **edit** thing.

It had low damage numbers, but I wasn't buying it for a primary weapon...

Just checked the Weaponsmith schematics that they receive and there is a beam rifle schematic granted at master Firearm leveli think.. I'm going to ask my guild master weaponsmith what it is..

Drakanar is right, and their is a new Beam Rifle, or Cannon as you want to name it. I've seen it on vendors from my own PA's shops, and other PAs. On the vendor, its says its a Ranged weapon, not a special or heavy weapon. If you look under Master of Firearms from the Weaponsmith profession, you would scroll on the little window to the lower right from the profession tree that says abilities, and see that thereis actually a weapon that could be made called a Beam Rifle. It didn't say anything about a beam cannon, or a beam pistol, or a beam grenade. In addition to that, their is no certificates in the commando section that states that this weapon can be used by a commando. None of the professions at this point in time can use this rifle. I've even got a commando friend of mine to test the rifle himself, and even he told me he wasn't certified for it.

Basically, SoE, or the Devs, or who ever makes the patches, and all the new goodies in the game Sneak Patched, or silented nerfed new toys, and they didn't do a good job of it. There was no news about a new rifle being made on any of the patches. Whats wishy-washy about it is that the rifle is there, it's got good stats and everything, but nobody can use it.

I can think of a few reasons for this.

Having not participated in Beta, I can see that this may be a remnant of something from it that never got implemented. Please confirm or refute this.

It could be a commando weapon that was never properly implemented and hasn't been fixed yet.

It could be a new weapon that may or may not have been planned to be released yet, perhaps for an 'elite-elite' class.

It could be a new rifleman weapon or a replacement for the T21 (not likely). On that note, it's possible that Masters of fighting classes will be getting their own, special weapons to use. Master Pistoleers, carabineers, riflemen, swordsmen, etc.

I'm not going to spend too much time on speculation, but I am going to see if I can get my greasy little Bothan hands on one, just for fun.

Ahem. If you look closely on the lower left hand screen among your weapon certs, you will see that you are clearly able to use the Republic Blaster. Speculation? It is a weapon (among a few others), that all profs can use, regardless of certs specific to a prof.

I put in a ticket on the Beam Rifle got a reply on it the next day. (Was surprised by this too.) The CSR said it was a Novice Commando weapon. Now either the CSR is clueless (which I believe.) or you don't need a cert to use it, as a Commando.
