Hey guys, I got into a big PvP war yester day and guess what.,,,,

when you look at the delay of our special and how worthless the DOT is, we almost outdamage our own specials with regular shot. LOL I mean, the specials give wounds to your opponent which will wear em out eventually but then again you can use regular shots at 64m. LMFAO

I know, I know, its not funny but you gotta kinda laugh at how bad some people must suck that they still whine about us and with crap like that they gotta wake up eventually and give us a fix.

LMFAO OMFG. If you dont mind wearing down a FT, OC shot probably outdamages us. ROFLMAO

Yes Ive lost it.

Rifleman here, but I know a guy who uses (or used) a flamethrower pre and post patch.

And yeah, I agree, the bleed nerf was a little too.. uh.. extreme. My mind bleed has been nerfed into uselessness (luckily being fixed soon) and the flame isn't much better. Hopefully they'll tweak it in publish 7.

What i ment was that those stats are not based on real statistics, they are a worst case scenario.
In pvp i preffer using a acid layerd helmet, as the stat im most careful about is my mind, and when stun layers are available im gonna use those. But using a heat layerd chestplate is a good idea, thanks
And as i said, commando is one of the professions i fear most, not the profession i fear most, sorry but rifleman/fencer i fear even more, but commando is mayby on.. 3rd place or so

Acid?????? What are you thinking? I go for the stun layer. Have a full suit of it. 37% stun resist 68% electrical resist, 75% everything else. I'd say thats pretty good for armor. But even before the nerf I had little trouble keeping up with the damage of the dot. Its called buffs folks.

You dont have to be commando to read forums and do maths, ive seen worse professions than commando. As I said, commando are one of the few i fear in pvp, and i battle them on a dayly basis The 75% heat resists armour are few on my server, so i cant make comparisons to other servers.

You should try out pikemen, pistoleer or mayby carbineer... now theres some professions that needs a fix.

Marivn, I'll be gentle in explaining why you cant talk about who is broken. First you are not a Commando, or from what it looks like you have never been one. Commando is one of the most broken classes in the game, which is why I dropped it 4 months ago. People usually say well you have Mastered Marksman, you can use those weapons if your Hybrid weapons are broken, lol. Yea, ahhhh where are the specials to use those weapons? Without the specials your just a noob with a nice gun. None of the specials in Markman do anything in PvP or for that matter PvE. Also the misconception that the Flamer is the end all weapon, lol. Yes they get massive damage at first, but if you calculate the dps Commandos are at the bottom. With damage mitigation in PvP, battles last forever which means dps becomes the most important thing. Commandos are lacking in that department now that the flame dot is over.

Currently I'm Master Pistoleer and Master Smuggler (I'm also going for MTK) as you are......I own in PvP and PvE. If you have trouble with Commandos in PvP, your doing something wrong. All it takes is buffs, 60+% armor, and food mind buff and I can solo Engraged Rancors and most Commandos I run across. Why most, because some are smart and select a nice combat profession to make up for Commandos shortcommings. Its pretty sad when Master Commando is a title that gets little respect in the game, kind of like novice marksman. Now if I want a turret destoyed, I'll be calling for my local Commando.

Why am I good in the professions I've choosen.....I can select a whole plethera of damage type guns and not to mention I have a ranged k/d (low blow), when this is used in conjuction with Panic Shot the mob ususally stay k/d for 10 seconds. Commandos have flamesingle1-2 and flamecone 1-2, lol. So baiscly Commandos are negated with Heat resistant armor now, hmmmm how are you afraid of them again.

I'm not saying I'm uber (I still have broken specials in Pistoleer), but coming in hear saying Commando's are feared is way off. Onlyinexperienced Playerswould fear a Commando......Now if that Commando had Teras Kasi then that would be a different story. But in that case I would be afraid of MTK, not the Commando.

Go here:

Scroll down to "Flameout," and read the stats.

I don't know if that's been implemented, but that's what he's refering to.

Also, please note that the DOT and RDPS calculations are calculated against targets NOT using Flameout or anything else, simply unarmored, and armored.

You guys got shafted.

Wow. Sixty seconds to incap an ARMORED opponent.

Could you remind me again of why people wear armor? Ohhh, I remember, TO REDUCE DAMAGE.

You know, there's a REASON why that guy spent nearly a million credits on 80% heat resistant composite ... so he can reduce the damage he takes from a flamer. There are no mobs that cause heat damage, and the only reason most people buy heat layered composite is because the flamer is one of, if not, the most powerful weapons in the game.

I fail to see the reasoning behind this whine. You posed a situation with a very specific countermeasure to the flamer, and then you complain about it?

If you use an umbrella when it's raining outside, you shouldn't expect to get wet.

Next time you get owned by a player wearing heat-layered composite, why don't you hide behind your buddy wielding a stun baton?

Working as intended? I'm sorry, but I highly doubt it.

I don't think you are taking into account the fact that any other combat class can out damage a Commando by a very wide margin against an opponent who is equally well equipped against their specific damage type. This is the point he is trying to make. How long combat lasts in and of itself is completely irrelevent to the argument here. He is saying that commandos do less damage than everyone else against comparable defenses. If it didn't take only a few seconds for any other combat profession to incap someone equally well defended against THEIR damage type, I don't think he would be complaining.

Take your profession for example, TKA, and have a friend stand there in 75% kinetic resist armor and see how long it takes you to incap him (assuming he just stands there and doesn't fight back). Do the same with any combat profession at master, and you will see that calling Commandos a combat class in their current state is a joke as their prerequisite of Master Marksmen probably does more damage than their mastered elite hybrid profession.

"IF you've ever written a Dear John Letter on the forums about how you're leaving the game or your profession, IF you've ever cried and whined in a post about the Devs balancing a profession to make gameplay fair, IF you've ever done either of those things, then you're an idiot ... a total UbEr L337 DuDe idiot. You make me sick.

I take it from this signiture of yours that you think this is all fair. If so, please, feel free to play as a Commando, and see how fair it really is. I am not, but I know enough Commandos to know just how badly this has affected them. Let me tell you, there is nothing "balancing" about this, and it is far from fair. It was the original intent for Commandos to be feared for their ability to deal damage. This is clearly aparent from the description of the class within the skill trees for it. I for one only giggle when one comes running at me now.

Basically. Commando is no longer "a force to be reckoned with and avoided on the battlefield at all costs". The fire blanket is just a little salt in the wound of this last "balance pass", as novice medic with stim A's can counteract the tic on an average pvp'er.

The changes to the HAR and the fix on the acc mods look nice, but it's still the only ap 0 acid weapon, and still just a watered down FT...

Bottom line...a pure commando, or someone who relied on commando to deal damage is a deadman in PvP.
