I'm currently using a 2nd hand unsliced flamer which is at about 30% condition, speed is 4.9 which is slow but i'm really concerned too much about that just yet, dmg min is 539 and max is 1055, my backup flamer (also unsliced) has 4.6 speed, 527 min, 1006 max.. i've only been novice commando for a day and a half and am still having lots of fun torching anything that crosses my path with flamesingle 1.. i'll worry about speed once i can slice themmyself (i'm working on Comm/Smug combo)

I have a FT with 4.0 speed and 1209 max damage. I used 100 max, .7 speed krayt tissue to make this beast and got a 29% damage slice. I was wondering if anyone had higher max damage than that.

I also agree that credit dupers are ruining the economy.

I fear it may be too late for you, my mate is a WS and says that you should really get a weapon fixed at 60% or higher - any lower than this and the chance of a failure (ruined weapon) is MUCH higher. Also, he tells me that below this (approximate) threshold, the weapon starts to lose more of it's total condition and/or stats as the weapon is too damaged to repair properly.

Be careful with these wonderful weapons guys! - Visit your friendly WS today and get them serviced. I have seen some great flamethrowers in this post, I'd hate for you to mess them up simply by not tipping a WS to repair them!

ok... so has anyone figured out if the speed affects the cool down time?

I know that not many people may read this now,but I picked up a 2.4 speed thrower for 500k on the Kauri server. The time between specials is so much better than using a 4.7 thrower. And whenyou are taking on a pack of 3- 5 GSP's and SP's at once, speed matters. Nutron Pixies help too

Heh, I got a 35% Speed slice on my first and only Flamethrower I've ever owned. It has a speed of 3.2, Damage ranges from 4xx - around 800 if remember right. Mine cost me only the 20 k for the rifle and 3500 for the slice.

I've got a 850 max damage 2.9 "workhorse" I use regularly on my commando, I also have a 1k+ damage 3.5 krayt flamethrower for the big burns (on those 100k+ npcs).

What I do is buy a crate of 20 flamethrowers from myfavorite Weoponsmith. Then take them to a trusting smugler and have them all sliced right there. My weoponsmith makes me them with speed in mind, and sometimes I get lucky with the smugler and sometimes I don't. Either way, I can make my money back easily if I just take the time to sell them to people with merchants.
