Again, silly! Everyone I ever met on the game (other than the newbies) have/are using macros to get xp/loot/advance in profession. EVERY camper I've seen on a spawn are commando's or TKA(not TKM) & a pistoleer every now and then. And 99% of the new guys ask for macro help.
Again...nobody get's banned for using a Macro, AFK or not, unless it is offensive in some way or hinders the game play of others...People get banned for using 3rd Party Apps...And some AFK macro'ing HAS BEEN mistaken in the past as using a 3rd Party App...this has happened because the Devs never intended macros to be used for AFK play, so when someone reports a person using a 3rd Party App (even though that person is actually using an ingame Macro), if the CSR doesn't catch on that it's a macro and not a 3rd Party App, then the person get's banned...and if you've ever been banned, you know it's basically guilty until you prove yourself innocent...not a fun mess to get yourself into...
There is nothing special about this profession - other than the fact that it is the most neglected one. How long have our (yes, our) speed tapes been broken? How about the 8 sec delay with grenandes...even when the speed on the crate you have is 2.7? Unless you have a 1.8 speed FT, you are going to get ownedby every CM/Rifleman(unless you use some TKA). And what's with the AP0?! Even a scatter pistol has light!
Most die-hards in just about all of the professions don't like AFK Macro'ers...a "special" profession would be one that does like AFK Macro'ers because that would be unique...The only place where like vs. dislike is almost 50% is probably the Entertainer community, but even there, more people seem to dislike AFK macro'ers...I don't tell people how to play their game...you want to play AFK, that's your business as long as it doesn't get in my way. Just be prepared for that feature to go away soon...AFK play is likely to be taken away soon since it's a priority of the Devs. The sad part is that some folks use recursive macros for more then AFK play, and in the end, because of AFK players, they get penalized because the Devs feel like they have to remove recursive macros...these are the folks with the biggest grudges against AFK Macro'ers at least when it comes to the Combat Professions.
Barbu, I have placed a macro on page one that will help you. It will help you get the xp you need to be master. Then at master you can play commando like it's supposed to be played. Your FT & launchers will be accurate (kinda). It took me a long time (6months) to get master commando. If you need help with your macro's, send me an IGE-mail. IGN is posted below...the one on corbantis in my Master Commando/TKM.
One thing I learned about being a Master Commando is that the most fun is in reaching that level...Once you get there things, currently, tend to level off and can, depending on your play style, get boring really fast...The Grind, in a sick way, is 75% of the fun for this profession in it's current state...it's fun to work towards the next big thing...I predict that if Barbu AFK's his way to Master Commando, he'll be likely to drop Master Commando within a month to try something else...he'll get bored quickly, and since the grind wasn't bad, why not try something else (no sense of value in what was earned). But I don't pay his or your subscription cost, so you have to find your fun where you can (that's why I don't give you my opinion).
When you get master, work on your skills. Get some rocket launchers, particlebeam cannon's, and some proton grenades with a max dmg of 5k. Go out and blow some stuff up. And be amazed when you do our specials and your HAM does not drop any! Save up for a 1.8 speed FT or hope for a good looted one. You can even hunt NS's by yourself (and a bunch of stimpacks).
Master will be much more fun and strategic once the CU hits...before then, Master doesn't really mean that much, so if your heart isn't in it, drop Master, drop the Acid tree, and use those points in another Area. In the Post-CU game, having all of Commando will be important (a dabbler will not be as strong as a Master with ANY of our weapons).

But I'm right; any time I go to a friggin' med center, I never see docs or medics healing anyone but tumblers. Ask for a heal, even offer to pay, and you're still ignored. Too busy grinding xp with the tumbler to worry about healing someone with wounds.
The most common place to find a doc anymore is outside the Coronet starport where they're all buffing. Ask one to for a heal, and you're usually told to find someone else, because he's too busy buffing.
Those are my experiences and those kind of doctors are the reason for my oh-so apparent distaste for them. And with such a brilliantly-composedconstructive response as "please, just never speak again, you're a jackass," you damn sure haven't helped my opinion any.

Look , we have some rules here. One of those rules is NO PERSONAL ATTACKS. No matter how much you disagree do not resort to personal attacks. The ability to have civil discussions is one of the hallmarks of the commando forum and we are proud of it. So if you feel the need to do personal attacks, don't post here.

Maybe you don't understand (not just you, a lot of people actually), Commandos are a different breed of player. They have no desire of being leet or uber. They don't see the glory in the "grenade grind" for a glowstick. Most Master Commandos (especially the ones that post on this thread) are proud fighters that want to forfill their role in the GCW (or PvE war, or whatever war you want to call it). They are not for loot, they are not for being a PvP god, they are for blowing the ever living snot out of EVERYTHING.
Whether we border on proud or psychotic, you don't 'get' us, the thread starter doesn't 'get' us, it's like we need a sign on the door that says "L33t D0odZ N0T W4nt3D!". I am sorry I went off on a rant, but this assumption of "everyone macro grinds for xp" is by far one of the most silly and telling statements I have seen outside the GCW forum.
