I think the shock of the con system actually being realistic is a bit hard to swallow.. hope I get used to it :/

The other thing that comes to mind, is it seems to suck as a noob even more than it did before. The intial xp gain so far seems to go too slow to be compelling. Also a combat que is definately needed, a noob shouldn't have to get carpal tunnel syndrome after a week of spamming meleehit, in addition removing it really seems like a downgrade.

Personal Impression, resent. From what I read, I got the impressions of ripp-offs from WoW/EQ2/Matrix.
Logging in, and playing on TC. I got it confirmed.
I really liked our old and flexible combat system, it worked so swell. Very tactical system. But it needed tuning...not this sham replacement.

Re-editing my long message i had before im retracting it because it was a pre-emtive evaluation. I played it for an hour or two before i logged off and then in the morning wrote the message. But as i play it more and more it becomes more fun every time. I just have to wait to try out the masters.
But other than that it is becoming fun (excluding the mass amounts of bugs that are known right now). And the server is over crowded and causing a lot of lag from time to time.

Yeah, newbie exp is REALLY slow now. I'm hoping they up the speed of getting started leveling, because it's going to take ages to get anywhere otherwise.
Edit: Oh yeah, anyone else find it insanely cool that they implemented point blank weapon moves for ALL ranged professions?Always fun to see one of your ideas actually implemented.

all ranged proffessions already had point blank moves...called point blank single and point blank area

My initial impression of combat upgrade.
I didn't like the blocky letters above everything. This may be a "stupid" setting that I can change will look into it.
I miss the combat queue
I dont' like that there is not a generic auto attack (thanks stern for helpin me on that one)
--- I think we should be able to set up multiple specials with the ctrl key, like maybe one unarmed one and one ranged one
--- switching weapons means you have to move the mouse after hitting alt so you can auto a basic hit.
I don't know about healing with out medic as when I popped into eisley it gave me every novice prof there was.
I liked the graphics and effects.

It took a bit of time to get used to about 15 hours of straight play time and woot i made 0302 marksman 0010 medic and 1000 scout i was uber lol. combat que missing yeah thats a hard handicap to get past but i managed. The lack of wound healing also a pain but with all the / commands working i just sat down and /healwounds or something and got well fast. Love the fact that i actually EARNED my boxes and felt gratified at getting the next one pushing me to go further and further tho it did take forever.
I mostly focused on marksman cause you need the double xp there. I think if i had something to say that was negative it would be this and i did bug report it.
/bugreport Devs i can live with the CDEF and the D18 pistol sounding like my wheels on my chair need oiled but if Han Solo and George Lucas were to hear what the DL 44 sounds like they would come shoot you personally!
lets just hope the sound is not turned on yet
Something that a few of us did find was this new move called /concussionshot from novice smuggler, very neat to use with other shots and i can forsee me having this in my template. It ROOTS or sticks the mobs down for a nice period of time. I used this a lot with torso shot. Now the Root shot did very little damage but the torso shot did the work after i stuck them.
Saddly on that note we coined some older phrases from EQ when gearing up to kill a overkreetle, ill root, you dizzy kd and you mez heal!
the effects were nice and the dizzy and state effects were very cool to watch. One other thing that i did not enjoy was when we found out how to self buff one of the buffs would blind us every time we got off a mount, it was so bad when 2 of us dismounted that we nearly crashed, im not sure what it was but that really needs to be toned down and fixed why flash white on my screen when im dismounting?????
All in all at the end of my 15 hour trip on the TC i found it fun and enjoyable and i cant wait to see more!

Former commando here.... Personally, as a Master Smuggler, I like the numerous combat moves that have been added to my profession (even though I can't try any of them out yet). At least they're there, and they should make it so that I can actually fight now. The new weapons should be sweet too.
The combat itself isn't exactly perfect at the moment, but with some tweaking here and there on TC, it should be pretty sweet when it hits live.

I haven't had that much of a chance to play around with the CU (although I plan on extensively "testing" it tonight). However my initial impressions of the CU are all positive. Yes I am a little disappointed that we are losing our flame specials (although I am intrigued that they are now built into the weapon) I am also extremely happy that our Heavy weapons are no longer consumable.
I haven't run into any "bugs" yet and the only other question I have is where can I find you guys so I can guild up and start frying things?

To tell you the truth, im not impressed with these new changes either. It doesnt even feel like star wars anymore. The melee emotes are too big, gorgs 3 hit incapping people, the reduced xp for killing or harvesting. I don't like it one bit...

My first impressions are a bit, well off...due to the wonkiness of first hour of the server(bound to change as everythings so hectic! arrgh!)
I don't really like the "shock-waves" produced by melee attacks...pretty sure thats not a bug or related to lag
For commando? Ok...Grenades with 500 stacks...some (if not all) with stat effects. Rocket launcher looking like assault rifle from hell --- NO DISPOSABLES!! ALL our weapons aside from grenades are equipable!
As for specials...we'll see how it all works out. Unfortunately (before I crashed) I only was able to compare our weapons to the T-21, another damage profession...and I noticed our DPS was lower, but higher ham costs. That didn't bode too well for me...and will be pursueing that a bit till I can be convinced...
heh... compare your massasi Ink rifle to our t-21 and you will see they are very much the same for damage potential (in fact the Ink Rifle is a bit higher damage then the t-21). both being master ranked and all else equal it should be very similar.
