Thread: CU Going live tomorrow? Am I reading this right?

Same here, definitely sounds to me like they're pushing it live.

I agree with garvin, maybe if it pushes to live it'll get fixed up faster =P or it could cause mass panic, which is what I've been prepping with my guild to avoid!

Im guessing mass panic...

PvE isn't balanced yet...we don't even have the capability of groups taking on much larger CL (like multiple SBDs...just one usually takes a full group a while to out-manuver and kill - WITH causilities). We have a lot of bugs that need to be fixed (like commando's AoE).

PvP is fine, PvE worries me as its not fully tested (given the recent changes) and, its not even fully there to start out with...

To top that off, now most of us will have to re-grind with the new respec system - My original 250 SP all combat template now will be turned into something around 180 sp, just as an example...

Hmm I better finish my "Fix to Everything Paper" for SWG and maybe help the Devs. It's already 11 pages long and I just started elite porfessions. I then have another 12 pages on fixes for GCW bla bla bla. Should be at least 25 pages long when done. The scary thing is that is just a general outline. I want people to read it, because I usually scare people with long posts.

Anyways time to duck and cover, the Death Star is going to blow!

Sadly I'm like a cokroach never dying a.k.a. never quitting SWG.

The CU on TC last I checked wasn't very fun. Did they even really fix anything? Well sure somethings are real nice. But then there's the Combat Level messing up an otherwise good CU and a few things I know people hate.

Uh this is a nightmare.

Well I won't be able to get on until Friday, but
A Mass Panic might just motivate them to change some things in their core systems I hope.

I dont know weather to point the finger at SOE or LA for rushing. Brings back memories of original beta when devs announced it was going out we all said it wasnt ready. I feel bad for any new players coming in and find PvE a royal mess. PvP is fantastic (but still needs tweaks, rifleman will be FOTM just because of its range), they just need to match the fun level on PvE.

Unfortunately, we're going to have to do battle royal in that new PvE system as well because of the bloody respec system...

Been snooping around the various boards... lol, it's warzone out there. Whichever way the CU turns out, someones gonna get bragging rights: will it be the CU haters or the CU supporters?


I've supported the CU from the start and I still do... but I'm pretty easygoing. Logged into chimaera awhile ago, one man was having a brandy firesale XD


I talked to a few guildmates about the CU in public - the flames from bystanders were agonizing. It's bizarre how many will protest something they haven't even tried yeton a live scale =P


We had a final battle against a giant canyon krayt and ancient krayt - a little tribute to the old times. I'm looking forward to doing the same under CU rules =)

Yep that is something the money counters aren't realizing.... all these New Player John/Jane Doe's that are coming in.... hehe they can't PvP yet. What on earth are they supposed to do with no PvE? Quit... then all that influx they are expecting goes flop, many veterans leave... they will be far worse off for rushing for the quick buck. New players aren't as forgiving as veterans (even though we seem like pit bulls at times turning on our developers) who have already invested a lot of time and money into their hobby.

Think everyone, they have no choice but to launch it this thurday or friday since RotW coems out next thursday. They will not push a new expansion as well as a game changing event simultaneously. They will launch the CURB this week, fisx it over the weekend, so that it appears to be working for all the new recruits. Personally, I am happy I cancelled when I did, whether it works or doesn't it simply isn't SWG anymore and hence no fun for me. Take care all, and good luck.

Thank you for trying to get the Devs to actually care about the respec thing man. It was obvious you were trying, but even more painfully obvious that they just didn't give a banthas wooly arse about all the Docs/Cm's/Commandoes/BH's that had master novice profs. I mean what percentage of the player population had doc buff bots/doc mains... BH mains. CM's etc... seems that many people should have been able to garner a simple, "We are sorry but you fit into the scope of the CU by testing out our new grind for your penance CU".

Well one thing, most of the ROTW quests Ive seen so far are doable as a regular ol' 60-80 level character. At least we have something to do till they figure out the rest of the PvE system

I guess we also have space mining too. Who knows since PvP is about the only thing that is working pretty well, we will see a huge jump in PvP activity, something that has been sorely lacking in SWG in large scale like before.

OMG i'll cry if it thats the CU going live tomorrow. I just surrendered a whole load of skills today to regrind in preperation for the CU. I thought it wouldn't be out prior the ROTW.
I'll be completely at a loss. Cant believe the game's this close to release and still looking like it's in the storyboard phase. Was kind of hoping that they'd see that all the sparkly glowy mists they've put on characters was just a drunken idea they got off some dungeons and dragons type rubbish.
Stopping myself now because I can't see a positive side to this change from a free flowing "Star wars" to a regimental "Wizard wars".

Wont be buying ROTW until i've tried the game in a live environment for a month or two because I've got a sneaky feeling that I'm still not going to like it. Got to give it a chance though. Hope everyone else does too instead of stomping out in a huff

And guys dont blame the devs if this is an early release. Unfortunately they don't have the power to dictate a release date. It's the men and women who sit in their offices looking at numbers and pretty graphs they've just discovered how to print that make those types of decisions. I used to work for a software company that don't care whether the products are ready for release (not SOE i hasten to add). Their policy is to get the software out on schedule, regardless of the quality or functionality and fix the bugs later. I wonder if SOE have a similar policy....... we'll soon find out eh
