I read it as the servers are all being hardware upgraded in readyness for the CU and RotW!
I think Tiggs would of made a bigger song and dance if it was going live tomorrow

It wouldn't be going live tomarrow if it is coming out this week. Most likely it would be turned on server-wide on the 27th or 28th, after the server maintaince downtimes.

Not 100% definite, but prepare for the worst...I don't have a good feeling about this. Whatever happens, we'll ride it out together.
Flamethrower? Check.
Rocket Launcher? Check.
Launcher Pistol? Check.
Heavy Particle Beam Cannon? Check.

I think it's just hardware.
Still they only have ten days to really fix anything. I have a bad feeling about this.
Ever since the lack of testing time we;ve had I've been concerned, because there may be some major flaw in the design *Cough* Level System *Cough*. And always the bugs.
Basically whats on TC now is gonna go to live. Kind of sad because we don't know what's working or not and what are bugs and what are not bugs.
Hate being the negative one, but looks like live is gonna be the test grounds for the CU.
Hey maybe we'll start something new where we get it through the heads of marketing departments we don't like half-finished barely tested stuff. I've seen way to many games come out to soon. I mean it makes me wonder how great some games could of been if worked on and polished up for another month.
Which is basically what we got now.
To be honest if I know anything it's that most developers like to have everything working and done right, and that the blame really falls on to those in charge setting dumb deadlines. Cause some thing may only take a day, where something as simple as getting an animation to work a month or a couple weeks anyways.
However one thing that does bother me is where they get their ideas. Some really don't seem thought out all, which is very important for an MMO.
The other thing, though pinnable on higher ups again, is the lack of sharing knowledge with us.
It would make huge differences if we could work together and brainstorm with Dev ideas and then test them weeks before even going to live.
Rather we get a month or two weeks as the max.
Only reason behind that is fear of other MMO spies which is just about the dumbest thing. Who cares if your first damnit. Just make things that work and are FUN for the majority.
And most of us won' freak out if something doesn't work out or go live. I don't hear nobody complaining about tha one carbine.
And if you work with your customers guess what they'll be a lot happier and whatever you do won't end up as wasted effort. Why do you think most people like little local stores and stuff? It's cause they actually know the owner and talk to them and have a relationship with them.
Get off the big business can't talk to you garbage.
Sorry I know I'm talking to empty space, but dangit that's how I feel.
If the Devs just spent an hour in concentrated brainstorm threads talking to people you might get some real good plans and ideas. And for those who don't visit the forums that's on them cause if they don't bother about the development of this game there opinion doesn't count for much. Granted we can't all spend hours or even visit the forums everyday, but we can at least all check once week.
I say have weekly open discussion threads with us. Ya it'll be a bit to manage due to many
posts and childish responses. But hey you gotta go through garbage sometimes to find a treasure.
I can only imagine what threads like this could have done and could do for SWG.

Well I read the post as it sounded as if they are bringing them down for hardware etc and prepping. The title of one of her threads stating " Monday-Wednesday April 25-27th -- New Game Features go live for Combat Upgrade".... well that doesn't sound like hardware one bit. Hardware is not a feature for the most part in my opinion, so that leaves me with a very bad feeling. This CU is no where evenclose to being ready. I thought JtL was a little rushed but ready for the most part... SWG beta, those of us in it remeber well how we said it was no where near ready and where that got us.
I will wait for word, but if the PvE is like it is upon logging in. That is it. I am not a hardcore PvP'er anymore (but I enjoy anoccasional bit of it)and if that is all that is left in the game... Republic Commando and Battlefront fare better for that end.
I feel it may be needed to grant SOE a virtual Darwin Award if this goes live in it's current state with it only half working due to PvE being so borked.
So much for time to grind eh? That pisses me more than anything because I am scared to have to grind in the fubar PvE system they have designed.

[set scene with Garvin sitting at his desk, legs crossed, feet up on the desk and arms folded behind his head thinking to himself "glad I'm not the Correspondent anymore..."
]
Currently I'm just biting my tongue waiting for a tad bit more substantial information before I get "too worked up"...In the past I've tended to go off on issues before I had "all" the information...this time I'm going to sit back, wait and watch...
All I can say is...if SWG launches the CU as is this soon, then the Live servers will basically be no different then the Test Servers...we'll be cleaning up this mess for several patches to come (which, maybe, is their plan...get it launched and let the patches do the clean-up)...

*Does Death Star Countdown from Episode 4*
Now does CU (Death Star) blow up?
Or do Problems (Yavin) blow up?

As quiet as the Dev's have been ... basically not even taking the time to say, "Yes we are going live with it" or "No we are not yet". I would say it is on like donkey kong. Gonna be a long night on Live for me tonight me thinks... have to get some grind in and get rid of commando to have a finished template

Hmmm...
Well it really sounds like they are pushing it live.
"Server Update Schedule / Combat Upgrade Content Publish"
Other than CURB what content is there to publish? They may just do the conversions but I doubt it, looks like its going live. While I've been having a blast and think its great, there are too many bugs to push live now... PvE is broken to the point it may as well not exist.
Guess they want from now till launch of EPIII to worksome bugs out *shrug*
