OK, so we have been mostly focusing on changes to the combat system as it relats to us, but here is something else to chew on. With the new Imperial crackdown, all Rebel players now have a chance to be forced into having a TEF, and this risk is increased with carrying sliced equipment. Now this sounds great on the surface, it probably isnt.
First, players are being FORCED into situations of NON-CONSENSUAL PvP (You hear that TH, something that isnt supposed to be in this game) and I will bet that this gets exploited by some players (like hanging out just outside of cities where newbies hunt and can get scanned).
Second, I dont know about other commandoes, but I carry enough guns, knives, and other weapons plus armor around to deal with different situations, and all of it is sliced. Now if I were to guess, the more contraband you have on you, the more likely you are to get scanned. I dont PvP because its a min/max item based exercise in futility and I really dont want to be forced to do it. On top of that, I really dont want to have all my equipment decay because of it. Oh, and if you want to post that I could just use unsliced weapons, just get real or get lost. Guess it just sucks to be us, again.

I was saying we were being civil. I was rejoicing in that fact. And I said that I disagreed that you should be forec into PvP. the problem is they need to curb the rebellion recruiting. I would argue more but I have to work now. Thank you for being civil, more often than not situations like this result in flame wars.

This I do agree with, but I think that thissystem is not going to work when it hits live and alot of people are going to be unhappy with it. I think a better system would be to have imperial missions pay better compared to rebel missions, and get rid of the race penalty. I mean, who wants to have to pay 3 times as much as another player for the same stuff.

The question is, will people that are overt as Rebs stay in the game if they keep having to fight PvP and loose money, equip (due to decay and such). I have been on hunts with IMPs and Rebels, and have had a good time. Some have said it is my choice to be a Reb, yes but it is my choice not to continue to pay $15.00 a month to SOE. What will happen went Rebel players leave the game, the IMPs like the nazis of old will have to pick on something else, what their own non-human cruits. If this is what my money brings, I will go back to Delta Force BHD or JO. I do not have to pay a monthly fee and I choose were to go and waht servers I can die in. It is economics, people that pay money that do not have will move on and leave the rest of you playing with your lightsabres. Think about it, they Nerf professions at will thinking themselves God. At least pegan Dieties had hearts. It seems they want to drive us out, were can you go and spend $15.00 to messed over that is legal....Right here, and you do not even get a kiss.

Something else that occured to me last night, what happens if you are in a mixed group of covert rebels and overt imps and on of the rebels gets flagged in the field?

I don't think you can attack group members, so probably nothing.

Not sure if its changed, but when I was a master smuggler you could slice clothing and backpacks... It did nothing, but set the "sliced" flag. I wonder if there are any of those floating around and if they will be scanned?
