I've also heard that the massassi is certed to Commandos, and the proton is certed to the Commandos, and some people still think the blasterfist is a commando weapon. I wish they would release the profession docs like they said they would or at least give us some clarification as to who gets what.
But if the BHs get the Proton carbine, and we get this friggen... rock with a handle and a blade sticking through it, I'm going to be VERY UNHAPPY.
Since when was the masassi rifle "commandoesque" anyway? I mean, the proton isn't bounty hunteresque, since when did they run around with assault rifles shooting down their prey? That's our job!
None of the certs are set in stone at this stage. Up until last night, Commandos were slated for the Massassi Ink Rifle. As a testament of how things are likely to change throughout the course of testing (based on constructive feedback and testing experience), the Massassi Ink Rifle is no longer certed to Commandos.
This is just one of the several changes to weapons that may make it onto TC within the next couple of days (subject to change, of course).
Give it to the Rifleman
I want my Wookiee Rifleman to use this
Oh alright (that's actually were it went, heh).
...But I thought Wookie Riflemen wanted to use Bowcasters? No?
PLEASE.... PLEASE... make the Wookiee Bowcaster useful!

Thanks for your posts Helios... they are much appreciated.
I really hope the certs are completey rearranged from the current setup on Test.
I've always thought that the Novice Box of the Elite Professions should grant all the certs tied to that feild.
That would allow much more diversity, while going up the Professions Branches would allow the Character to perform much better with each weapon, at least those that do not master would have a variety of choices.
Star Wars has always been a large part, "Individual Style"... especially when concerning equipment.
Instead of pigeon-holing certain weapons with speciffic Profession Branches, I think the certs should be granted at Novice.
Taking this further... grant some of these cross-over weapons at Novice of the one Profession AND put them in the Master Box of the other Profession.
I was hoping certs would be treated more like this in the CU instead of more restricted than what is already in live.
Most importantly, at least show more respect to the Veterans that have grown attached to their weapon of choice and don't move the existing Certs up out of the Novice Box.
May the force be with you.

Have you seen the Bowcasters on TC5 ? You want to give us Wooks a little help here and add a couple 0's to the damage on those things......

Now...the question is...Will Commandos be getting a Master Tier weapon like many other combat professions have? I know that some weapon certs may not show up until "looted", but any possibility of some insight on what to expect?
Yep, there is a master level weapon. TheMIR didn't quite fit with the Commando theme. We've been discussing the aesthetics of the massassi ink rifle as a master weapon for some time, but didn't make a decision until we got some community feedback. While the MIR is a very cool looking weapon with a very interesting history behind it, it seemed like it wasn't the right fit for a master level weapon (especially Commando). We went with something more Commando-esque instead.

I swear to god if you give them the Underslung Carbine im going to be so pissed. I plan to grab every Carbine box in the game pretty much just to make sure I can get it. But knowing you guys you'll throw it in the one tree I dont have points to get that might in theory be able to use it. Give them a Grenade Launcher or something. But I want the Mini-gun for myself.

I read that as "big Badaboom".. to quote another scifi cult movie.
OOOHHHHH all this suspence is killing me. I think I am going to bill SOE for the doctors visits to take care of this ulcer I got going. (Ok.. maybe the ulcer is from all the coffe and the crappy class load I have right now.. but all this isn't helping any.
If your not moving the RL into the master box... and we are getting a more commando-esque weapon...
hhhhmmm.... E-WEB?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

since it's not the underslung... there's only one more option for a very commando-esqe weapon... the TANK!
Yeah, good luck with that one.
