Thread: With a Yes or No how many are keeping Commando
I had my moment of doubt, but I've passed through that and I'm keeping it no matter what.
This is a exerpt of another post I did, that I think pertains to this topic:
Personally I still think there is a lot of work to be done on Commando to make it a viable profession. Give the role a commando fills, it still feels highly underpowered and well, unfinished. I'm not sure if that's down to the lack of specials, and it's purely a psychological thing, or if it is that when compared to other professions, it's just considerably lacking in so many areas. For instance, you'd think that a commando, given the combat range they fight in, and presumably the training they'd go through, would have defences akin to if not better than what the MBH has. Additionally, I would expect more accuracy over a wider range of weapons as you'd be trained to be good with pretty much anything you'd pick up. But sadly, the Storm Commando seems to be the model on which we're built, which in SWG is just total and utter crap, despite the fact that in the Star Wars universe they're the most hardcore troopers going and the mere mention of their name is meant to strike fear. In SWG they're faction farms as they go down too easily. Also, look at the Republic Commando. A team of 4 was meant to be more effective than a platoon of soldiers. Where is that reflected in our template? These are our peers, our history and our legacy, so why don't we benefit from that? Commando has taken up a special place in my heart, and I'm not going to give it up, however, I will do my best to help fight to make it better for us all.
Regards,
Gov

They can't really get much worse. Can they?
You know, that's what I said around here in the months before the CU. I figured, "Hey, we're already at the bottom. There's nowhere to go but up!" What an utter crock of **** that thought is when I look back on it.

Life isn't without miserable irony...even for a game.

Yeah, every time you think you've hit the bottom and can go no lower, some jackass always throws you a shovel.
In Commandos' case, that jackass didn't throw us the shovel. He hit us on the head with it, pointed a T21 to our head, and said:
"In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig."

I wanted to be a Commando even before the game was released. I loved the original description. Of course we never actually got to BE that description but I still have high hopes. The potential is there. We just need the Devs to give us some loving.
Keeping Commando!

Of course there is one possibility in all this... We might not get our fix until the respec period ends for the large majority of players, or until the newTTE box-set is released in an effort to keep everyone going commando save us die-hards.

I held the thermal detonator in my hand - revelled in the 'bweeeeeeeee' as I flicked the switch - threw it at the unfortunate test subject - and hung my head as my TKM friend, who was waiting expectantly for the fireworks, said.....
"67 points of damage?! My god, commando really is broken isn't it"
But I will not change - commando rocks, and those who now laugh at our grenades and every time we agro the world and still only cause 1 point of damage, will be blinded, knocked down, and set aflame!
