I fully agree with you about dabbling, however I cannot agree with what you said about the "poor rebel".

If you simply do such things for "fun", then yes, that is harassment. However I have experienced a case where, in my opinion, this is justifiable. I was standing in Bestine talking with some guys from my PA when a rebel came running in just shooting at everyone. A BH ifI recall correctly. Of course we killed him in a few secs and db'ed him. Well, guess what, after 10 secs the **edit** runs back shootingat us again and gets killed again. And then again and so on. After the fourth time a friend of mine put a mind bleed on him and we didn't db him until our commandos put approx. 99% health wounds on him. He also had about 60% mind wounds at that time. Then we db'ed him. We did this to simply stop this pointless **edit** which I call the "clone wars". Do you think that was harassment as well?

No, i Agree with you on that, that was NOT harassment, that was Simply Stopping that total Muppet from comming back yet again to a pointless Death..

but what Wolve did was Totally Differant, the Rebel was already incaped, he didnt even Attack the dude to begin with, he just spotted the incaped Rebel and told the imp that was going to DB him not to so he could take his anger out on him and tauture him for over 30 mins...that Rebel hadnt even attacked Wolve..hell He hadnt attacked Anyone..he just happend to be walking past and didnt even know he had a Tef...Someone Noticed tha he had a Tef and then someone Else Shot and incaped him...then along comes wolve and stops the ohter imp from Dbing the Rebel and took his anger out on the Innosent Rebel for 30 mins...Only when Wolve got bored of it after that long did he finally DB him....now THAT is wrong..

Wolve is a tolling IDIOT.

Commando's are PROFESSIONAL SOLIDERS!!!! A commando should kill ANY of the support classes (rifleman carbiner and pistoleer) and ALL of the melee classes. The only class that should have any kind of advantage should be the BH.

I would love to know where he got the idea that this melee dmg modifer was expected all along?? OR where he got the idea that commandos are support characters.

Wolve = Troll. Leave commado. your not wanted here.

I dunno.. i kinda see commando as support.. i mean, how often do you see soldiers run around with rocket launchers blowin up whatever they see.. not often lol.. i think they SHOULD be grouped, with the weapon speeds and stuff, how could you really survive against the baddest of the bad lol.. were out there to make the big booms, LOTS of damage in one hit... but with 5 charges to a rocket launcher.. you can take out 5 nunas or 1 turret lol.. choice is yours ... commandos just arent really efficent enough to be the uber leet solo players ppl want to make them out to be /shake head

OK I see this a lot in every professions board but why does every one complain about dabbling? That is the way the game is engineered. You are supposed to dabble and pick and choose how you want your character to workout. I have been a Master Smuggler and Master Creature handler and found that I wanted other skills so I gave up those things and now am a happy dabbler. I might end up being a full master commando before I am done but at this point there isnt' anny reason to do so. Maybe if they make Master smuggler worth it I will go back to that. But until they offer something that is totally irresistable at some master level I don't see any reason to do it.

2x damage is uncalled for. Who says we are supposed to be a support class? the rest of the **edit** classes that have combat value can solo why should we be limited because we spent more skill points?

If they want 2x damage, give Master commando reduced penalties down to normal OR at the very least 1.5. Then we have something over dabblers and gives people reasons to get to Master.

give us masters something to brag about to the dabblers. And my god we don't have many other weapons to choose from other than Flamethrower, HAR last I checked was horrible, and weapons with charges should never be considered full time weapons.

Honestly making it so Commando's cannot solo hardly ANYTHING that hits melee is a bad call. Sure we needed to be fixed abit we were too powerful but they went overboard. My title Master Commando now means, LFG so I can make some cash. Remember this game unfortunately is geared to casual gamers more than power gamers, not all casual gamer Commando's are going to be able to run out and find groups to make a few bucks.

The penalty has to change, you can't give a class riflemen penalties and then still have the range within melee range for specials, on the only weapon without charges that works.

Don't get me wrong I know we were overpowered(more or less just the flamethrower).

Another idea would be having that penalty ONLY exist during the 6-9 second delay after the special. Which atleast makes it so we can get in there do some damage, solo or whatever but we have to be tactical with the special on melee and npc's.

aye Gairon, however getting one shot by a greater womp rat who cons red to you when you equip the launcher pistol does make sense if you are holding a flamethower and he now cons blue to you...why? the con does not really identify the mob challenge correctly...

Holo does not have a clue about the Commando class, it was he and q3PO who said we were wroking as intended back when we were broekn then Holocron asked the commando dev and he too said yups..we are working, then a week leter they said ooops...why? our brethren form the riflemen class stepped in and said we were broken..they would not take OUR word on it alone.

It was the combined communities of the riflement and the commandos that got the commandos fixed finally...

2X damage is part of the commando no matter what Holocron says...it is only during melee attacks we take this penalty...and easy way around it is to swap weapons if you are being attacked by a mob or melee person...flameslingle or flamecone fast..then switch to launcher pistol.....really does work

WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKIN ABOUT?! Im sorry wolve but **edit** man you have not played against one creature since this patch have you? "flameslingle or flamecone fast..then switch to launcher pistol.....really does work" no no no no no it doesnt... guess why.. the flamecone and flamesingle have a delay of 9 seconds for a master commando. this means if we use this move then switch to something else, we still have a delay so using a launcher pistol DOESN'T work because we die before we ever get off a shot and if we do get off a shot we go down shortly thereafter. your right there are other commando weapons, this is true and i dont doubt it even a little. after this patch i was not worried at all about my fighting because i can use all my weapons to my advantage, even non-commando ones. im resourcful and can still kill just as good as before the patch, but what you are saying is truely insane. you cannot switch to another weapon after using your flame special and expect to live if they are melee. now if they are incredibly weak its different but for the most part they still wreck you pretty good (an overkreetle ended up putting me down just before he burned to death when i tried this out is a good example).

now lets try talking about this whole commando support thing...yes they are supposed to be good support players, we know this its been said by the devs themselves... but there is a difference between being able to be a support player and a player that is only able to get off one shot before everything slaughters him. support means you can help out throughout a fight...uhh anyone else see a problem here? we can help out with the first shot then thud, we hit the ground? thats how 90% of people play especially when in groups, if you are smart and you fight with strategy, yes you can still be just as effective as before but the point still stands that this melee penalty should not be here.

Wolve you abosolutely are a moron. You have no friggin idea what you are talking about. Every class has dabblers. So what? The Commando class is suppose to be fiercesome in melee combat and the master of the class should be the most fiercesome. The idea that a melee combat specialist takes 2x the damage in melee is idiotic. This nerf is the product of poor design, lazy developers, and whiners like you.

What is with elitest commandos?

I dont see it in the Smuggler forums no one says if you arnt a master smuggler your a loser. Yea I have flame 2 and its great I also have pistoleer skills and TKA skills and they dont get all irate that someone would be using some of the skills in there profession but not all of them.

If you have exploreation but not trapping should scouts call you a loser. If you have pharm but not first aid should medics call you a loser. Come on guys its a game based on skills. The flame thrower is a great skill tree its not uber but it does allow for alot of damage so people are going to us it. that doesnt mean they are some how less then you becuase they dont want to use grenades or rocketlaunchers.

Im just sick of being called a Dabbler..... Im a commando 0,4,4,0 and a CH 4,3,0,4 and lol if thats what is called a Dabbler then so be it...... I can master Commando in a day.... I have nearly all the xp stored for it now... why dont I? Because I choose not too. I could give up a large part of my CH skills and pop em into commando and while YES i wish i could throw a grenade or two the HAR tree has no motivation for me. I picked what i wanted and am sticking with it.......

On the extra melee damage... my only point is like this..... no way a pistol user should take less dam HTH than a Rifle/ heavy wep user. If anything, holding a big club in your hands should HELP you in melee not HINDER you. Some little critter gnawing at my leg would do the same to me with my T21/HAR whatever than as to a dude holding a CDEF pistol...... effect accuracy and rate of fire yes.....hurt ya if prone (and should hurt anyone prone) yes...... hinder.... no..... That same critter is more likely to get knocked in the head with a rifle butt than do more to me cuz im holding it.

I am not wishing ill will on pistol users in anyway.... nor do i wish to be a GOD character. Straight up i suck pvp.....course ive hardly ever done it either.....I'd just like to know exactly WHY i take more damage. Can i live with it? YES. Oh and btw im one of those Old time players who started off on commando way before it was even commonly known it was broken...... It took medays to even find a trainer cuz i couldnt find a player who knew. Dont feel so high and mighty cuz you mastered an elite profession and please dont feel so Godly yourselves that you can dictate what another player gets to choose for his character.Mastering a profession means very little to some players.

I'm sick of people that think they are high and mighty because they mastered a profession. The devs have stated over and over that a master of a profession won't necessarily make you better, and that people that dabble will most likely have the advantage. Why take master commando when you clearly get no advantage over flame 4 that is worth all the skill points. Just my 2 cents.

I agree commandos are a support role. We should be with others in a group and right now if we stay back we can do some serious damage. The problem is our specials have to be within 16m. I dont think you should be able to shot a flame thrower from 64 and do a special thats just crazy. I truely dont think you should be able to shot a flame thrower from 64 meters and have any kind of accuracy or damage at all. The flame will spread out and weaken a great deal by the time it gets there. So 40 meters should be the max effectiveness for a flame thrower and as you get closer the better the damage. That means the 2.5x mod should go away if this was made to be true.

Now you say well that sucks because I have to be close to someone to use a flame thrower to any affect. Well the answer to that is make the HAR a true rifle with specials that are longer range. say45 meters from target to do acid single1. At a range they should be extremely accurate and they should keep the 2.5x mod on them for that reason. So when you acid single 1 2 or cone them 1 2 from 45 meters you should be able to switch weapons in the cool down time and be ready for the melee attacks. That also gets melee in range after being hit to knock you down and take you out.

Now these fixes will just fix our proffesion to some extent. To help balance the game armour shoulddefend against theDOT. So if you acid or flame someone wearing armour they are not asdamaged as someone without armour and the after affects should be greatly lessoned.

In my humbleopinion this would make the gamepretty much balanced on the commando side. As for other proffesions I dont know I dont use them so I have no idea what your griefs and complaints are.

Wolve ifwhatwas said here about you is true you are scum and the only reason you are a commando is to grief other players. If its not true thentheperson who flamed you about that is scum also.

Also no more revenge TEFso having a guy doing some of things I have heard postedshould go away.

That's the way it is. Deal with it. I manage to kill commandos in PvP often.

If you're a jedi and you're blocking my shots I understand. The only melee class I can understand doing well against ranged attackers is TKA. You're some dude swinging a pike at me? You're gonna burn.

I'm a swordswoman. And my sword cuts through any armor you might be wearing. It's AP 2. And the devs putting in a melee penalty tells me that not only are you wrong, the devs agree with me, not you.

Commandos are apparently supposed to fear melee, and I'm perfectly ok with that. I don't care if you're ok with it.

At least express your opinion instead of coming in here and trolling to pad your already lofty post count.

I thought I did when I said I'm glad the devs don't share your view of melee.
