Perhaps your futile attempt at sarcasm doesn't acctually take into account the fact that, with no repair kits, a random spawn of red NPCs could take out your hard earned AV-21?
Ok, a few ideas on a vehicle revamp if it ever came it. Rip apart at will
:
Reltive to speed, all craftable single personvehicles have HP (High speed-Low HP and vice versa).
BARCs and any other gift vehicles(should any more single player ones be introduced)have higher HP than their craftable counterparts, but still not all that high.
Relitive to speed, all MP vehicles have HP that is a fair bit higher than single player vehicles, and passengers can fire out of them with either their own or emplaced weapons. Screws melee players a bit, but then, how about they drive this one?
Quest stuff (AV-21s, Jetpacks etc) should have a LOT more HP and be a lot better than normal vehicles because, however many snide comments you wish to make, people did work damned hard for them (jetpack especially) and to see a Cl26 blow potentially several day's work out of the sky is pretty gutting
OR turn vehicles into ship-like entities with armour, shields engines etc that can be crafted by shipwrights/DEs/MAs (no idea specifically which one would fit best). And then build repair kits for the different parts like SWs can for ships.
Just a few thoughts. I think your vehicles should be able to be destroyed and damaged by weaponry, but not one shot killed as they are now. And yes they do target the vehicles first. Before the cooldown combat timers were removed for vehicles, I left my landspeeder in a corner somewhere and went to the opposite corner of the square to snipe a Trio of CL 50 rebels, to try out my new rifleman skills. once discovered, all three aimed right at my speeder, blew it up and THEN attacked me. The first area attack went off a few "turns" after that. Bug or intentional, it needs to go.
