Thread: About those upcoming changes...
I was thinking a similar thing while reading this. HAR, yeah, i could see this as having some good armor penatration. Flamethrower is an ignited chemical stream direct at a target. If your wearing metal armor the flame wont penatrate the armor of course... but give it a good 10 seconds and you'll feel some good heat. So perhaps the best way is to have the normal attacks of a flamethrower have no armor rating, or maybe light ( whats light supposed to be, body armor right? flame wont penatrate that ) but have the burn from the special completely ignore any armor ratings because despite any armoring, it will get hot once your on fire.
In short. The flamethower armor ratings are fine it seems. just needs to be doing A LOT more damage thats all.
Being lit on fire is nothing to laugh at, neither should the damage recieved from our guns be.
This was from my Orginal post, PC bounties as a faction, i thought it was a good idea for how PC bounties could be implemented! here it goes!....
Now this idea just poped into my head while reading some other Bounty Hunter Posts.. and also i dont agree with how Greedy some Bounty Hunters are, and you should look at other peoples issues not just your own..but i think thats sort of a lost cause.. Anyways..
K, well PC bounties as a Faction, Now what i mean by as a faction i mean Like this.. in 2 ways...
-There is a Hutt Crime Family Faction, and as a branch off on that Faction there is a faction where Bounty Hunters/smugglers/other people can join and get certain perks.. certain missions.. and one of those who join are eligable for player bounties on eachother.. but only by Bounty hunters.. (now you say why would a commando or someone join this faction?.. well i would enjoy it very much being Hunted by a Bounty Hunter hehe)
- There is a Bounty Hunter ONLY faction that branches off of Hutt Crime Family, They Get Player Bounties for people from opposite factions, or their own (possibly include Smugglers for Smuggling)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now those are 2 ways i see of approaching this..
Also there are ways to get Bounties for Players from NPC's..
1. You receive a Mission and are PAID in advance...(or you select the pay in advance method) in which they give you the money, and you must complete your mission, if your mission isnt completed (Died, Ran, or Left) Than the Appropriate NPC Sends a Bounty on your head thru the galaxy, That way only by Accepting this PIA you would get the bounty on your head, otherwise you wouldnt normally.. also I see it as if you take a mission from the faction your in you should take a faction hit.. now you might ask why would your own faction want to kill you? if so wouldnt they just drop you fromt he faction? good point.. lol.. which leads us to Number 2
2. You receive a Mission from the Hutt Crime Family, and only the Hutt Crime family.. all their mission would be Paid in Advance, there for by taking mission fromt he Hutt Crime Family, you understand the risk involved and getting a bounty on your head
3. Bounty hunter only PC bounties, the bounty hunter ONLY faction can only give and get PC's on eachother (this one sorta sucks)
But in this way, a Player would KNOW if he is taking a Mission with a PIA.. There fore Running away, dieing, or just leaving are all considered stealing from your Boss.. which results in Bounties..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now than there would be PC's bounties for PCs..
The problem with this.. would be the PC wouldnt have the money to pay or anything..
1. The PC has to Belong to a Faction, there fore, you're wageing war on a Certain faction for the time being.. meaning that they can see your Bounty Hunter Faction Logo.. as well as anyone from that certain faction can attack you because they would understand their fellow soldier has a bounty on his head.. (this would make it so it isnt so **edit** easy for you to kill the PC, and you must use extreme modes of stealth)
2. The PC dosnt belong to a faction or does, but he recieves a notice that a Bounty Hunter is on his tail when wandering the streets or something, he is aware, and he can attack you on sight.. but you dont appear as KOS to him.. but he can attack you (seems a tad to easy)
Those are my 2 ways of picturing that happening.. also there would be a Command center where the person put the PC bounty.. and blah blah ya know.. wouldnt have his name so there would be no way the bounty hunter could snitch on the person, he would have to enter his money into the Computer before he could put the bounty on someones head, no bounties under xxxxxxxx amount of money.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To keep the Bounty Hunters ontheir toes..
1. all PC bounties would have a PIA on them, meaning if you take it and fail you get the bounty on your head because your basically stealing the money from your boss (think of it as.. the PC pays Jabba.. than jabba gives you some money to go kill that guy) meaning Losing the Bounty could have dire consquences.. but it would be fun for bounty Hunters (even thou this might be hard for you guys, you KNOW it sounds like fun
)
2. There could be more than 5 bounty Hunters on the same bounty, So whoever gets hmi first wins... also MAYBE be Kos to all other Bounty hunters who took the Bounty? (you know.. so if someone is about to kill him.. than you kill that bounty hunter.. and take the kill for yourself?)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Way's for the PC to redeem Himself
1. Pay the desired NPC/PC The money thats on your head + xxxxx amount.. to remove it from you.. also take a faction hit if NPC..
2. Kill the Bounty Hunter
3. Go the amount of time (would probably be a long amount of time) the bounty is on without dieing and your redeemed
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Generic Info on theBounty Hunter only Faction
1. Only Master can join (making it so that if you want to have fun with PC bounties ya gotta go the long haul)
2. Upon Recovery of the bounty and having it brought back to your boss, you receive xxxxxxx amount of Xp, Faction, and Money.. Bounty Hunter only faction (maybe used for Mandolrian armor
)
3. When you kill a PC bounty you must recover a Memory chip or somethinig from their corpse, That way once you get it you gotta watch your back when coming back.. because you might just get jumped and have it stolen?!?!!
4. Smuggler Mission would also be included if your added smuggler (aka Smuggling people and such)
5. Certain Bounty hunter items, weapons, FP's could be attainable fromt his faction and only this faction, making it very good.. But they would have no place in the war..
6. Bounty Hunters from this faction would be Considered Neutral, there for would be considered factionless.. and could work under 2 factions than (Bounty hunter faction, and Rebel/imperial)
7. Bounties not Redemable in battlegrounds
Umm i think thats about all i wanted to say about PC Bounties, now me as a commando, wouldnt get the fun of PC bounties, but i would love to be hunted by a Bounty Hunter, hehe fun!
Good Luck to you all Hope you like my Idea's, if they are that good maybe your Correspondent (who is a good guy) could talk to the Dev's about my ideas..

Hope you like the idea, i thought it was a good one when i wrote it hehe ![]()
oh that's good, making the class even viable has 'balance issues' involved. I think the only balance issue involved with you and this game is at 2am when you stagger home from the bar.
nice to see you back 'raph', I'm not buying this latest round of 'hands on approach'. No one could have possibly ever tested commando, and this slaptastic round of 'oh I'm here everything is better' thing is bs, the timing coincides nicely with the first month's churn numbers.
and why do you have 'developer' by your name? You're not a programmer, you're a marketing/design guy.... oh wait.. maybe that's why this game is so screwed up.
Holocron,
Thank you very much for the update. I think this is the type of communication we've been looking for. So I thought I'd stop in and let you know it is appreciated.
Thanks again

165000 credits?
are they made out of gold?
CSR's have a tool that lets them create whatever resources they need out of thin air. I watched as they used a command in front of me.
What is the harm of letting players on test use the same commands? Not like there is any real need for a market on test, all you need is a few weaponsmiths and armorsmiths to setup shop and make whatever is needed and put them on the bazaar at rediculously low prices.
Better yet the devs could flood the bazaars themselves. They can make housing deeds out of thin air, why cant they make weapons of varying qualities, maybe make a new type of bazaar where you can order the specific type of item you want and it is made from scratch by a computer NPC.
They would then just have to control who is allowed on test center so there are not a bunch of exploiters around.
As for gaining higher levels without the grind, they can easily create mission terminals whose design is to reward high lvls of specific types of experience for doing simple delivery missions (targets close by as well) so that people can get to the levels they need to be at will, and then can untrain skills as needed if they need to check out other classes.
We really should have dial-a-level (I guess dail-a-skill here) over in Test. If we want to work through it and see how long it takes, we should be able to do that. But if we want to test a skill we should be able to just GET that skill. We should be able to gain (AND LOOSE!) skills in Test as easy as we do in some 3rd party character planner.
On flame throwers - I would imagine these things to be big DOT weapons. Initial damage of maybe 200 then hit them for 80 per second. Double the DOT for wookiees and, if the burning wookiee gets within 1 meter of another wookiee, there's a 20% of the other wookiee picking up the DOT. Armors would have to have a completely new armor level stat against flame throwers. I would think metal armors would protect better from the initial hit but the DOT would last longer and be higher - you might even let the DOTs stack a little bit. A plastic with a high melting point might be able to shrug off practically all the damage but, if that plastic melts.... ewwww.
Players should have some sort of drop-and-roll option, too. Let them get rid of the DOT in exchange for not fighting for several seconds. Oh, and they might be able to get rid of a lot of DOT just by taking off their armor. (But, if they put that red hot helmet in their backpack next the the type V fireworks.....)
There's also the matter of burning landscape. A flame thrower should be able to build up quite a wall of fire in dry vegitation (which might just spread in unexpected ways) while being almost pointless on the desert sands. Buildings may or may not be burnable, depending on what they are made of.
We'll let you by on the oxygen effects and suffocation until the Space Expansion. (We're nice like that. ![]()
OK, it's 9am here now. I guess its time to stop dreaming.

Youre the first person i cordially invite to come live on TC. I hit Master Weaponsmith a few days ago, im ready to go, ill hit Novice Commando in about an hour or less myself. As i stated in another post, the only reason im going up commando is so i can help you folks out more here on live. Between myself and the other commandos on TC we will do our best to inform you how things are going.
Myst, the reason i invite you is because, well... theres no freakin reason why anyone should pay that much for weapons. My stuff has been remarked as better than live, from live players on TC and at not even half the cost. Laser Rifles 60-385 dmg 5k credits. (unsliced) , All Commando weapons are going to be about 7k max, depending on quality, yes thats right, quality, i dont sell junk. If i sell a lower dmg or quality weapon, i also reduce the price, its rediculous to pay money for something that sucks.
Come on over to TC, were really not all that bad you know.
