They are hurting those who really want to play an entertainer, those who are jumping for joy at the thought of getting their cantinas back, far to many people would rather watch silently and for free and afk entertainer / buffbot than deal with a real entertainer, pay them, have a conversation and enjoy a touch of socialising while their BF is healed or their mind buff applied.

Where have all of the entertainer's gone? I havent seen any as of late. I dont watch an afk entertainer if there is one around that is not, but the vast majority of the time I go in there are none that are not afk. If the entertainers wanted them back so bad then they could have done it at any time.

You don't want to waste your time looking for buffs? don't use buffs, hunt lower end content without buffs or in a group... The big reason for these changes is to remove these bots, to make yo be social and interat with other players, if all you want to do is shoot things then why not go play an FPS? It is not very difficult to obtain doc buffs and once these changes go in and all the entertainer buff bots disappear you will find it much easier to find a real entertainer willing to give you mind buffs for a fee too i suspect.

You are completely missing the point and telling someone to just notlook for buffs is a cheap cop-out.The point is not that people dont want to be anti-social, the point is thatpeople dont likewasting their time. If you were given the power to never miss another shuttleagain, then I would think you would take it. If you never had to wait in line for 15 minutes waiting on a doc buff again, wouldnt you think this is a good thing? That is what the buff bots are for. It is a convenience not someone lacking social skills.

I dont know where to begin with this one. I am a complete combat template. I escort crafters, help with quests, and try to get high end loot for our crafters. I do not sit in a cantina talking with people all day because that is not something I like to do. It is play style just like it is the playstyle of the entertainersto dance and talk all day. If you wanted to dance and talk all day then why dont you just go on AIM and play Dance Dance Revolution? Just a terrible way to show your point, but I digress. I will strike up a conversation with a dancer if she is not afk and would like to talk, but I dont have time to sit and chat all day long. When my bf is healed or my mind is buffed then I tip and say my goodbyes. I dont think there is one thing wrong with that. I dont play 8 hours a day because, like most people, I have a job. Why wouldnt I want to add time to my gameplay?

That is one of the worst statements ever. So you are saying that if there are less entertainers buffing people 24/7 at any given time and at your convenience, then it would be easier to get buffs. Of course, because that makes perfect sense.

And by the way, "real" or not you still get the same buffs. And the entertainers still get paid.

Why is it that you, and so many other people, consider gaining xp to be a grind? this concept is one of the reasons you don't enjoy the game...

The simple fact of the matter is that as far as medics, entertainers, and crafters go, the only way to provide the best service is to be a master of that given profession, and given that there is no demand from the player based economy for low and mid level items, you have to be a master for the most part to make money, whether it be from providing buffs or producing goods. In order to get to the master box in this game you must go through a boring seriesof repetitive tasks, otherwise known as grinding..

You want to be a master doctor? spend atime leveling medic by going out with a group of other newbies and healing them in the fight(i mean real newbies with no money and crappy weapons and the intent to play their character rather than grind)then work to get up doctor, crafting the meds and buffs you need, doing basic buffs for your combat friends who are slowly working their way through an elite profession now etc.

No one on Live plays this way, with grouping completely dead. The reality of the situation is that all a combat player needs to get is novice medic, then they can completely heal 2/3 of their wounds and damage. Trying to get from novice medic to doctor by this method would be extremely difficult for most people, casual gamers and harcore alike.

There is plenty of low end content in this game begging to be enjoyed so go and play to gain xp instead of 'grinding' and then saying it is boring and how you don't like it. Of course grinding is boring, you were never supposed to be doing it.. there is an enjoyable way to do the same thing, try doing it that way with a group of like minded individuals and you'll probably enjoy the game a lot more.

1) How is all that content supposed to help the crafters who know have to go from novice to master with out macros, or the medics or can't group up with anyone else because this game has become so solo player-centric its silly. Lets face it, aside from 1 or 2 places in the ENTIRE game (the DWB and maybe the corvette), there is no reason for any player to group with another.

2) This change is going to have a major impact on non-combat professions, and I think its a wrong decision. Guess what, being a novice armorsmith/weaponsmith and having only one thing people even remotely want (upgrade kits) isn't fun. Not being able to sell harvestors because they aren't BER10 isn't fun. People not wanting buffs cause they aren't strong enough or last long enough isn't fun. The system as it stands, with all of the money available in game,is set upso that you have to be a master to compete , and the only ways to do that are either to grind or to be comparitively useless for a much longer period of time "the way we are supposed to", whatever the heck that means.

In fact I would argue since the game bills itself as "the greatest star wars adventure ever...yours", that if I or anyone else wants to use the mechanics that exist in game then thats their perogative. I am an adult, I make concious decisions, and if I want to get to master as fast as possible and avoid days of repetive button clicking, then thats my choice. If the devs think this is wrong, then they should make goods and wares more appealing from low and mid level characters rather then punishing the player base for their short sighted design decisions.

PS, dont go around assuming people do or don't like the game. I have hada lot of fun in this game and have explored a great deal of it. The simple fact of the matter is that in my opinion, and that of other people, the game really doesn't open up to you until you are an elite master, or near that. I am simply pointing out a flawed design decision, a practice which reflects an unfortunate trend on the part of the developers of this game.

It will cause me some trouble. I'm lazy. I like to press "R" and get my rifle with rifle abilities on my toolbar, press "F" and get my flamer and flamer attacks on my toolbar, press "A" to switch to Flamer, que a "FlameSingle2" and taunt my foe. I like to be able to press F12 and go to my Toolbar slot1 for my chow and other stuff. I like to press 7 for grenades so I throw a grenade from a quick slot and taunt the foe. (Yea, okay. They laugh at me when I kill myself but I think it is cool to throw a grenade and say "Here catch!" some part of me hopes they will. . . .)

I do all this with the ui command.

All said and done I feel sorry for musicians and docs who provide a much needed service AFK. I can survive with the changes but hey. If they keep making annoying changes then I'll find another game that doesn't annoy me so much. Anybody play Jumpship? or Anarchy Online?
