I wouldnt hate you Hellshot.....
But I would open fire and do my best to roast your behind every time I see you.....
Thats the Imperial in me speaking by the way....The Imperial Stormtrooper whos been killed so many times by jedi, because they found me easy to kill because I'm a stormtrooper commando/rifleman....Besides....Emperor ordered all jedi killed...I'm just doing his bidding.

Are you sure the animation caps the speed? I know with pistoleer it seems I sometimes fire faster than the animations play (for example, sometimes I'll use pistol whip but it doesn't actually play because I'll be shooting fanshots every second before and after.)
Or is this kinda like when you start firing and it holds you to one spot until the animation finishes?
Back when they first rolled out publish 9 onto test center, there was a bug such that all weapons were firing at the speed cap. Based on this, I could fire a ft at the maximum rate, which was 2 seconds for the specials, so the speed is limited based on the animation speed. So in short like your latter description.

I certainly would never hate you.
When I was younger, I dreamed about Jedi, and had the good old "flashlight" duels with my friends. What a wonderful time eh! But, being a gamer since Pong...I've managed to be one 4 times: Jedi Knight, Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Knights of the Old Republic, and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. I felt good about that because the time frame seemed appropriate, I wasn't hurting others experience of Star Wars, and I finally got to use...a friggin lightsaber!
Ya know, everyone would "like" to be Jedi..but what make Force Sensitive and ultimately Jedi special..not just in the movies, but within our hearts? I think it's the fact that most people in the Star Wars universe don't have that "gift". Even in episode I-III, the Jedi are special. Upcoming, the Jedi are all but wiped out...that's why Luke is so important. This is the timeframe we are in. I dunno...
Even the Force Sensitivity thing just bothers me. Han Solo was one of the coolest characters...no Force Sensitivity. Chewy was cool. Bobba Fett was cool. Force Sensitivity wasn't a pre-req of capability. It wasn't a pre-req of importance to the story. Jedi used to be some sort of mystical, cool, and confusing path for a select few.
As it stands, Han Solo can inhance his abilities by being FS. Chewy can be a better Chewey if he desired. Bobba Fett had better be FS to compete. **edit** is this? It's NOT Star Wars. It's "A lot of paying customers wanna be Jedi, so lets screw the story line and make Jedi something anyone can do. Make it so Jedi is hard, but being Force Sensitive is time consuming, but achievable. That'll keep em paying!".
So, it's boiles down to Star Wars Galaxies: I wanna be Luke Skywalker, Anikin Skywalker, A few Darth Maul, and a handful of screwed up clones of Force Sensitive Bobba Fetts. No real room for "I just want to be a part of Star Wars". No, "I just want to help the Alliance". No, "I want to crush those Rebel scum".
It's now, "To be effective, I'll do some grinding, become FS, and be better then the other Marskman/Brawler/Scout/Medic/Artisan out there". There's nothing special about seeing a Jedi anymore. Let alone being FS. It's human nature to try for every advantage...if it's available. It's available.
There should have been ONE person on the live team for each server who played as a hidden Jedi. That ONE would take on a Padowin...and spread from there. Not...Hologrind, Not Badges, Not an old man, Not some stupid town....Not Haydens grand master plan to keep people playing. Certainly NOT a path, hard as it may be, that every swinging hose can grind to be "Special". It effectivly runes the atmosphere and forces us to make a choice..."Do I want to play as a Star Wars character, or, do I want to grind and be competitive?". What's a Commando to do? I guess be FS (and we still blow monkey chunks!).
I'll never hate you Brother! Maybe we "Need" a Jedi anyway. GL! Sorry about the rant! Had to let it out.
