Thread: Why should we ask for an entire tree for the launcher pistol?

Personally i would like it to be


Heavy Weapons - FT- HAR


Demolitions - Disposables and grenades


Support Weapons - LP - and a new weapon something like a AP3 carbine with stats sort of merged between a Laser Carbine something like


"Commando Carbine"


AP3 (negotiable if hte HAR or another non consumable weapon is given at least AP2 and that no other prof has higher than, we are heavy weapons specialists and should have the highest AP weapon in the game and it should not be a consumable)

4.5 speed(roughly the same as a LLC, this will be our "ranged" weapon")

Blast or kinetic damage type (we already have heat, acid and blast, but i would like blast with AP or high AP kinetic)

150 minimum damage

350 maximum damage


Range mods(arethe way i set them since this isa weapon made todefend ourselfs in the bigging of the attack, andduringretreats, the Flame and hte HAR will be our close range weapons)


-25 at 0

0 at 35m

+30 at 55m


For specials im thinking things that will aid us both in attack and retreat we are soldiers.


Coverfire (cone): lays a blanket of carbine fire over an area, causing several targets to have to hit hte deck (posture change and dizzy)


Upperbody fire (single target) : several shots towards an opponents chest causing health damage (since the flame DOT does health to) can cause a stun state


Closeshooting (cone): will cause an intimidate on targets within the cone


Coverfire2 (cone) : cause a KD and a 10second delay on the targets


4rth line : Close combat specials that can be used with a heavy weapon equipped within melee range, IE, using the stock of the weapons, a'la pistol whip, perhaps a few kicks and so on

in response to Garvins question - in my opinion i think we can attain pretty decent defenses from dabbling in other proffessions - this also makes us better commandos by understanding how another profession works. Ex - i think you would be a much better PvP combatant against a TKM if you have spent some time in the TKA tree. To have a better understanding of your adversary makes you all the better of a match against them.


I would definitely vote for the new assault rifle and would also be a big fan of the LP having its own skills - and also would be a huge proponent of getting a "bunch of goodies" commando-wide. All of these things are equally exciting - however - i think just granting us automatic defensive grants would be a bad idea - it would IMHO - make us less of a strategic and tactical rivalry on the battlefield due to not having any research or field tested experience in other fields. I am confident that Garvin will do us right - he hasnt failed us yet.


Hope this helps ya Garvin - Im big time into studying the commandos adversaries and having an in depth focal know how of the many weapons we are able to use. After all - thats what makes us so diverse - we can effectively wield and use just about every weapon out there - save a handful that are specific.

It should have high damage and Ap definately but i think the speed should about that of a carbine. Just my opinion. Also ideally it should look like one of the big nasty rifles out of the alien series (cant think of a star wars equivilent, sorry).









I'd be happy with AP2, high speed, andmedium damage. Variants could be AP1,/high speed/high damage, or AP3/high speed/light damage.


I'd rather us get a tree devoted to improving our pre-reqs so that they'd be more useful, but an assault rifle tree would be nice, and it still makes more sense than an LP tree.
