If you put it in perspective, any commando who played prior to the patch of september, knows what its like to play a seriously imbalanced and gated profession.

So, you stuck around and played a broken proffesion. What does that have to do with anything? What does that entitle you to?

NOTHING.

Anyone after, just doesnt realize what it was like(just joined because it was thought to be the best working combat profession at the time, hence bandwagoner).

So players that have sense enough not to play a seriously broken profession untill it is made usefull should be looked down upon? (Don't try and wiggle out of this either. There is no other reason for giving people that label)

So now we get old timers, plus the so-called bandwagoners, that are surrendering the profession for different reasons, thus making them distinct entities. Good job devs.

They are not surrendering it for different reasons. There is only one reason. They think the melee modifier was a bad step for the profession. You are trying very hard to show some difference here, but the only one you have is stilll... I was here first.

Even in your own post it is painfully clear, the problem is a balance problem with the game not with the players. Why do you insist on wasting your time with name calling?

I mastered a broken profession while everyone cried they couldnt. Did you? People can rejoiceat difficult accomplishments.

I didnt label anyone, nor do I look down on anyone(its common sense not to play a gated profession). The spike in # of players certainly was due to different reasons, but arguably the most common was commando FTwas very powerful, and fun(killer combo thatsoe has shown to add up to futurenerf).

I was. And I wont play an imbalanced professionagain. Can you honestly say you will play a broken profession 'again'? No,YOUwont play commando because they have a melee modifier penalty.

I never called anyone names. Bandwagon is just a term applied when a class becomes very popular. Commandos are out of balance, and with the current issues in the game it will be another 3 months before we reach the top of the priority list AGAIN.

AlufNull is right here I think. I even started to feeel like a bandwagoner here reading this thread since I didnt start going after comando right away. Instead I dabled and played around with other professions and now I dont see anything wrong with that, I just wanted to try artisan, medic and other things, which I never went real far in, ju st to seee what I liked.

So, Im also a casual player. By the time I got to novice comando, evreything was working fine, but I had no idea that it had ever been broken or fixed or how powerful anything was until the comando that trained me in flame 1 told me about it when I asked him why I dont see more comandos. So it wasnt that I went for BH or something then saw that the profession was fixed, I was just slow to get there.

Also I have no problem with dablers because, as comando, I dable in TK, a little smugler, some rifleman, just to do difernt things just for fun and to kinda feel out the other elite professions now that Im up here. The real problem with comandos is they dont give the masters enough to put them ahead of dablers. For example, I decided to take meditation from TK with my comando. It will work pretty good for me but I wont be as good as a master TK in the meditate field since they have a +25 meditate.

Then you guys, and I mean no disrespect, talk up how you were here when it was broken and how no one else wanted it untill they saw it worked and just rushed right in. You should be proud that you were there to help figure out where it was broken and bring it to attenttion s they fixed it but not think you are the only true comandos, especially when you turn around and say in the same post, "I am a master comando, and I am the one leaving along with other master comandos, not the dablers." If your leaving now that its rough again, but, as a novice comando, and who has hardly any accuracy with a flame along with the same damage mod you have is going to stick around to fight it out and try to adapt the best I can, doesnt that make me equal. I think its a hipocracy to call me a bandwagoner when here I am sticking this out. Yet I havent heard anyone calling you "cowards" for turning your tail and running.

Once again I mean no disrespect to anyone. We just need to be united to ever get heard whether bandwagoners, dablers, or masters. Will we stand and be heard presenting reasonable suggestions, or will we just come in here and complain about whos doing what and argue about dablers and bandwagoners to where none of the DEVS are going to read through these threads because there is constant useless and redundant posts to filter out.

2. Using the term "bandwagon" is labeling and name calling. Your post is trying to defend that practice. And that is childish. Try and convince us that crying "bandwagon" is not an attempt to belittle somone else and you can type till your fingers rot and you will still be wrong.

I wish I had time, or I would dig up and quoteHolo on his reasons for nerfing pistoleers, or probots, or CH's. The sudden surge in popularity for a class has and willcontinue tobea leading cause foraresultingnerf. Bandwagon is a fair term to use because its practical andgives a simple description tothe situation.

Possibly. But not in this case. If ALL the combat professions were working correctly people wouldn't have to choose between 3-4 moderately working professions. (commando, BH, pisoleer, CH, tka, combat medic)

The real problem is that SOE has proceeded to fix this game backwards. Normally you would want to have the professions working properly then and only then would you begin to nerf to weed out true issues. There isn't a single combat profession that is working properly. Not one. BH and commando are close but due to the fact that all the other combat classes are busted the devs have no choice but to nerf them down to broken level.

Play what you have fun with, not what is best. Who cares if other people are playing it right now, or if they just started playing it once it got good. Everyone has there reasons for playing what they play, and if they don't it all comes down to that is what they felt like doing, because that was the most fun for them at the time.

Stop b!tching and play what you like. Commando's aren't that broken. I am one, I can kill things, tweaking would be nice but they work. If you think you are not having fun with it, or it is too challenging try something else. If nothing else suits you either, than try a different game. Don't force yourself to play something you are not having fun with and stop yelling at people for playing what they are having fun with.

Don't get me wrong I don't like when there are way too many of one class but what can you do, if a class works well and is fun to play that is what most people will use.

If you think commando's need work....take a good long look at Squad Leader and then look at how broken are class is. Seriously DEV's do something with Squad Leader.

Peace

Im sure there are a lot of things you can kill on the eight shot after missing seven times,

Flamethrowers don't do that much damage to kill something in 1 shot. Sure if you're hunting some newbie mobs around the city you might be able to 1 shot them, but there it. If you're trying to use flamesingle or overcharge shot on them, you'll be dead by the 2nd miss. There's about a 10 second delay on the overcharge shot and 16 on the flamesingle. Using a standard shot, you'll get an average of 950 damage. Nothing above light blue has that kind of HAM at Flame 3.

Besides, for those mobs, I perfer using my LP. Actually, the LP is better than the FT if you're going solo against melee mobs.

Hmm...I was wondering why a couple of savage Guf Drolgs could take me out now. I gotta start keeping myself up to date on these nerfs . Im only a casual commando and I think im gonna stick with it, I just need to get a tank or something or start doing the whole Warcry thing i just read about. Anyways, I doubt there done with commando yet, granted it might be a while before we get attention again (whether it be good or bad). So This is one commando thats gonna try and stick it out, and im not sticking it out just because i bought 3 crates of rocket launchers.

Well, that was my 2 cents......do i get change?

Commando's aren't that broken

Worst. Statenment. Ever. Commando's aren't that broken? LMAO. Everthing in this game is broken. Just because commandos might not be AS broken as some other less fortunate classes doesn't negate the FACT that it is still busted? Does it? Granted in the end it's all about fun but it's kinda hard to have fun when you have to relrean how to play your character every 2 months becuase the devs don't know how to balance the classes they designed.
