sorry for late post...had to go to school



anyway. i guess what most of u are saying makes sense. my only problem with it is that i cant use my flamethrower in pvp now vs most people. all they do is ONLY accept challenges, not challenge. therefore, they can start like 32m away and just keep running.

lol ya...but got owned in pvp by a BH. i shouldnt get OWNED. maybe lose, but not y that much

Yeah, and you'd win EVERY TIME if it were otherwise. Commandos aren't about PvP, we are about PvE - in group combat they can't run forever like they can in PvP and we can mop up while others keep them pinned down. That's the way it's supposed to be, and it works VERY well. Just remember to bring your armor....

i like my dx2. also if you do duel someone dont have on a commando title or a flamethrower out switch and surprise them. lol also the follow command is your friend. i still lose most duels but i have fun now and don't feel like i am losing because my class is broken. I don't want to beat bh's in one on one I like the idea of bounty hunters too much to want to own them.

Heres a little tip for pvp, start the fight with a rifle equiped, most everyone knows that if you get in close on a rifleman they are screwed and can't hit for crap, at that point bust out the flamer and BBQ their ass.

The 16m range is a good thing. It would be just wrong in PVP and PVE to increase it. Yes maybe RL flame throwers could do damage at further distances, but RL rifles and every other RL weapon can hit from further than 64m too. It's give and take. I am pretty happy with the damage changes even with the penalties we take. We can't have everything, and the weapons don't scale to RL very well. So just go with it. Using strategies Commandos are defeatable. When we're not defeatable is when the nerfs will happen. I don't want to see that

I don't know where people are getting this idea of FT being close range.



Has anyone seen "Dragons Breath" shotgun shells? instead of pellets, they use chemical powders, (phousphourous and D something?) and it shoots out fire 150 feet for 3 seconds. it screws up the shotgun. it melts through flame proof vest and the dummy wearing it.

Yes they can, butas thisis a GAME (you'll be surprised how many people forget that) if you could shoot out of someone else's max range then what's to keep you from running out of their range and shooting them to death.


Obviously Melee is different, but what do you expect when you take up MELEE!

In RL a jogging stride is further than 2 feet. I don't see too many people walking around in SWG.

do you know that rocket launchers cost at least 30k cr? and only have 30 charges?


i use the flamer regular attack for hitting 500 dmg per 4.2 seconds - and since im pretty high up on the flame tree, i shoot faster


just kneel, aim, fire


and remember, flamers are special weapons and are not to be used by them selves

Two words.



Suppression fire.



If they are a runner, switch to LP, supression fire, switch to Flame and special them.
