Perhaps the pistol specials dont work as well with the LP as they do with other pistol weapons? Id sugest not using any specials and comparing the damage between youre FWG5 and the LP and see what happens.

I did try to do the default attack...thing with that was, since I'm a Pistoleer too the 'floaty' numbers were coming up so fast I couldn't really tell what they were, although from what I could deduce from all the numbers in combat and floaty there was a definite problem, not localised to one planet.


But it's not just nests it's NPCs to, its as if they all have these large blast resists, as far as the LP is concerned! I wonder if Swordsman are having the same problems with their PH's?!!


The thing is I have been a commando twice before in the past, and I don't recall the LP being bad at all, in fact it was one of my best pistols! I used to use the LP to grind (at master marksman not pistoleer) the first 3 blocks of Flame Thrower since it was a lot quicker than trying to use the FT!


A friend of mine has also noticed the same problem, I gave him an old LP that I used to use which has around 280 max damage, I recommended for him to use that until he got the flame 3, but he said it was quicker just using the FT, which at the time I thought was strange!!


Still, lets hope the CURB sorts this out!!

Hi there, what are the stats of you LP?


Ive seen some nice damage sliced Gorax bone ones out there now, might be just that low damage combined with 0 AP on it is taking its toll. But since you have nice speed on it I cant see what the problem might be..


Try to get a "uber" LP and try again

Its only 250 max (unsliced as yet), with P'up around 320, and spd 2.7, which is more powerful than most of my other high useage pistols (Geo Blaster, FWG5 ), all of which have no armour piercing (except the Republic Blaster), none of these have the discrepancies I am experiencing with the LP.


It's all a touch strange!

Though this is not "uber", it is still a pretty damn good LP. Certainly good enough to level up/blow the snot out things with...I never remember having this problem when I usedthe LP with Pistol skills, but that was a while ago. Stealth Nerf anyone? Might have to skulk around the Pistoleer forums to see if anyone over there is noticing anything "wonky" like this.


Though, this is not encouraging news...can other Commandos please test this out so we can get a slightly large sample size. I am having trouble testing it due to the fact that I don't have a pistol that rivals the stats of my LP, time to do some shopping!


Cyrus, see if you can find ANY enemy/NPC/lair that the numbers don't show this descrepency so that we can get a baseline for your problem.

Well I read the first couple replys to this and I dont feel like going through the other few... but... I've been told by others that its not lp's that do bad aganst nests its blast dmg in general. Now... this is un tested as I have never touched a blast hammer and havent thrown a rocket down the entrance to a nest for some time... just what I herd.

Ok I did some testing on a few creatures (and the odd nest) with none and light armour last night.


For the creatures with no armour (Pikets and Grauls) the LP seemed to be working ok, although still not as good as my main use pistols.


When it came to Light armour, a Horned Vortior Lizard with 5% resist against blast there was a huge discrepancy, it was like shooting something with Heavy Armour, doing barely any damage at all. They are also 5% against heat, so out with the FWG5 (no armour piercing) and no problems whatsoever!


Again nests seemed to have this invisible 65% resist against blast., maybe this is how its supposed to be since they have 100% resist against stun, then again that makes sense...resists against blast doesn't!!


If anyone else has done a bit of testing on this please post!

I think that something might have gotten bugged over the last patch or so. Prior to the GCW change I was using my LP quite a bit. However since I got my Krayt Flamethower I use that all the time now. However the past few day I have been playing around with my LP and noticed that I am getting a lot less damage out of it. The LP might simply have been broken over the past few patches.

LP's doing little dmg aganst nests isnt a new thing. I only use mine aganst turrets though... not much in pve so i dunno. What I do know is that for my my LP has ALWAYS done crap for dmg aganst nests.

Lairs do have a blast resist. I have been a commando/smuggler hauling around an LP, and a Master Swordsman/Smuggler with a PH shortly after that. When the weapon has Blast dmg, it takes a big reduction on Lairs. It has been this way since launch.


As for the LP losing too much to resists on a creature with no armor and 5% stats, that is odd. Comparing it to a lair tho...not a good way to test it. Perhaps the % to blast on the vorts is messed up and not the LP.


The issue brought up with high damage by a few in the thread...also...nothing new. I was a BH back before the LLC and flamer got their fixes, and also after the fixes. It was about the time the fixes went in to change the stats from 30-130dmg that the big number hits on lairs showed up. This was also about the time that theyput the code in on lairs for them to take extra damage when they were emptied. This only happened when the lair was empty, or almost empty. And I believe has something to do with the code used to determine how much extra dmg is done by a weapon on an empty lair. This is evidenced in that I can hit a lair for 4K on a 500dmg shot if the lair is empty.....a 4X mod. Do a 4X mod on an 8K dmg hit and you have big numbers. Also, the increase of dmg to nests doesnt allways happen. It seems to be a random event.
