Yeah but he has to have that device. In this new system, you don't even need a device, you magicically heal with your mind.


NOTHING IS REQUIRED EXCEPT THE ABILLITY, JUST LIKE MY PRIEST IN WOW.

  • All weapons will do a base damage of type of two possible types: "Kinetic" or "Energy". Several weapons will do additional elemental damage of one of the following types: "Heat", "Cold", "Acid", "Electrical".






I would just like to focus on this point for a bit. I was initially...well shocked by this, when I first heard we weren't going to have Blast damage anymore (anyone remember how the devs told us that was our "niche"?).


Unfortunately we won't be able to see -exactly- how well this new damage type system will play out, it may be better as we won't be stuck in the "stun syndrome" in PvP...where you positvely HAVE to either have a stun weapon or stun resistant armour (aka composite). It may also have its negative too....BUT regardless of whichever way the pendulum swings....commando has ALL the elemental damage types under our belts (and...if I may add, -both- basic types )...which to me at least, alludes to a very bright and powerful future...


Post-CU, commandos' seem like they'll be able to be the anti-armour maniacs of destruction as we wanted to be, and then some.

Yeah, I caught it...but something didn't click until I saw the full list of who's getting and dropping what...
I'm keeping Master Smugg Commie if (oh heck, might as well say when) I come back, just need to think about what to pick up with it...BH for lowering the jedi population on Flurry? Medic for healing? TK for Defenses?

We've just been given a corner of a jigsaw puzzle, until we get the rest to see what they will do for defenses et al... then it's just still imagining and hoping....(not hopping, hoping)....

But I think it will be fun to test all this and to see what our two Correspondents and Testers can give us...

Can't wait to see...

Just think of it...A Jedi's worst nightmare should be a Bounty Hunter capable of Heavy Damage...I have a strong feeling we'll be seeing this combo come up a lot for those who want to go Jedi hunt'n...


The lowering of our pre-reqs opens up a ton of new doors for us...Honestly though, I still see Commandos taking up at least 2 trees of Marksman as you WILL WANT to combine with at least one ranged profession (the next docs will explain why)...But think about it...Commando/Ranger....Commando/CH....etc...While we won't be able to master 3 professions, the fact that all ranged AND melee professions share at least onepre-req with us is huge!!! I see us as the most open to dabbling beyond our profession then any other professions (they almost feel forced into certain directions where as we feel more liberated)...so nyah nyah to them ...just joking...

I finally came back down after reading our line to read the rest of the professions...am I seeing this right, we are getting a major bump down in the SP cost, but almost ALL of the other combat professions are getting a slight bump UP in SP costs? Tell me I am seeing this right?




Ironically, yes...and furthermore...Commando, along with smuggler (I guess the Devs aren't without a sense of humor! will be the two holders of the -most- combat intensive skill point cost in the game.


Though, as Garvin said...this does not mean power is getting reduced...as one may think would be the most logical thing to come to mind.


Imagine the professions as gourmet meals, and the skill-points as plates. Some professions are getting more expensive plates, while others are getting less expensive ones. Regardless of the change, the gourmet meal is still the same right? So, we're keeping the power we have now...getting that upgraded and actually working (grenades, disposables,etc)...and kicking arse while having more money to buy fancier silver utensils!


Of course, this may not be great news to the professions that gained skillpoints...

If they do bring back the Heavy Weaps skill tapes (if they even exist after the CU) and if they stack between professions, I am DEFINATELY getting the LLC line in BH. That would make me Master Commando, Master Smuggler, and BH 0,0,0,4. And if I'm reading this right, I'll still have 33 POINTS left for whatever I want. Maybe I can set up that vendor for spices or get medic now...

As for a possible MC-MBH now...that prospect looks VERY promising. Especially on this notion:

Through logical deduction, yes...LS attacks are now part of the system of Kinetic/Energy base damage and the elemental types.


Which, yes through more deduction, Jedi will burn! MAHUAHAHAHAHAHA...err....

Have you seen the new animation? I haven't...so for all we know, the new animation could be a Doc pulling out a device and "beaming" a heal to a person...When I use a Flame Special, I see the flame special being done...When I meditate, I sit down and meditate...we don't know WHAT the new system will LOOK like...why do you assume it will look likea person is being "healed with your mind"...







Where is that device coming from? Not his inventory!!! Healing without medicine is magic plain and simple. I don't care if they make a simple device that i have to carry to heal. But Healing without medicine is magic plain and simple. Regardless of the animation, if medicine is not required it is magic.

Is it just me or is anyone else laughing their butts off at all these peeps on the CU Update thread whining about having swords pre-reqs for TKM, etc....
