Thread: To THUNDERHEART regarding commando imbalance in gameplay
Ever hear the term walk a mile in a man's shoes? You obviously know nothing about being a commando.
So you saw a couple of commandos kill some at-st's and not get owned, so what. Ever here of doctor buff's and spice. You gonna cry everytime you see someone have a successful raid. Stop nerfing and start fixing.GO AWAY LOSER!!!
btw, CH is NOT being balanced hard at all..
is it FAIR to get 90% of the benefits of master CH by only mastering 1/2 of the proffession?
was it also fair to master 1/4 of commando..yet get the same benefits that master gets with his FT? hell no..thats why we got +30 accuracy..and hopefully some things will be reordered like in CH
The individual would like to know "How can you set fire to an armored vehicle", forgive me if I don't qoute it exactly....
To use a RL example (hears the groans)... A modern tank is pretty much 100% resistant to fire and heat, I believe we can all agree on that. Joe Dissident is out for his morning walk and sees a tank parked on the street "oppressing" Mary Sue Dissident, his sister. Well, ol' Joe runs back to his house and mixes himself up a good Molotav Cocktail, poor man's napalm in other words, and runs back down to where the tank is. He lights the Cocktail and hurls it at the tank. The glass shatters and the fire does no initial damage to the tank (100% resist remember?), but the flaming mixture is spreading across the engine exhaust, exposed hydraulic lines, and other things. It is also heating up the hull of the tank. If the flames are not extinguished the heat inside can cause severe injury to the crew, destroy the engine, or other bad things.
Now, let's say that ol' Joe's got himself a FLAMETHROWER which sprays REAL NAPALM. Once again, the spray of napalm does no initial damage to the tank, but the intense heat WILL cause serious damage and quite possibly death to the tank crew, AND can cause the ammo stored on board the vehicle to explode.
Just because something is heat resistant does not mean it WILL NOT burn, it just means that it is much more difficult to ignite. That is how an armored vehicle "burns".
Two rebels with FT's could easily do this without dying, if they're buffed properly, one of them is a decent medic, and they know what they're doing. Heck if i have a scout blaster and know what I'm doing in a fight against someone who doesn't, I'm going to win.
Quit crying, clone, get back in the fight. Oh, and find yourself a badass pet with disease or something and disease them, then one of them HAS to be a doctor or they're in trouble.
Burning tank? Impossible? Take a look at this photo and tell me what you see...

LOL! ROFL!
Err let me go on multiple sights and let everyone know how me and a whole group of friends got spanked by a couple comandos. lol
Gotta let em all know that I have no business in PvP. LOL
My god man! I was thinking I was going to go IMP since there is a lack of players doing that and what fun is it to have no enemies when PvPing? I hope you all arent that dumb cause I sure aint claiming ya. Didnt you have any snipers? 64m away is death for a comando, or a pistoleer can even get in there and take one out easily. Heh, even a friggin brawler that would just give a couple runs at the commandos would be missed eventually then just have to KD em and its over and thats by themselves and your talking about a whole group. Was this group just NPCs or PCs? If NPCs then DUH they just run on a program and its easy to trik em. If PCs I would be too embarassed myself to admit to it then alone go spamming boards to let the whole world know I suck. lol
Anyway, your just looking for trouble so just take a hike.
Also take into consideration that the Commando profession is the second most taxing on your skill points, whereas MCH takes relatively little. A master creature handler could easily master an elite weapon profession, and for pvp, as others have said, if a commando can't get to you, They can't DoT you, which is where a lot of their power comes from. Plus, would you say that a profession such as bounty hunter is equally powerful as all other professions? nah, but then again they take the most skill points to gain master status in, so maybe they deserve to have a little more power.
Take into consideration next time you make an argument how much of a character is being put into a profession instead of simply Master this NEEDS to equal master this. A master creature handler spends 106 skill points to achieve this, where a master commando requires 169 skill points. Correct me if im wrong but with another 63 skill points couldn't you master an elite weapon prof...PLUS have a couple beastly creatures helping you out. and if you STILL think you're not powerful enough...sounds like a personal problem
well, i have had some troubles with commandos as well, however i think it's because balancing works so that one class is not overpowering to everyone.
chances are these guys were buffed and fed as well with armor.
btw, commandos are kinda atst-killing machines; otherwise...nerf atst's?

...Explain why fire should burn an armored vehicle....
Hmm well the fire that comes from a Flamethrower is napalm like and thus it would stick to a metal surface. Have you ever heated up something metal and watched it glow? Also metal can melt.....

Holy **edit**. Learn to write.
I assume you pistoleers/bh's/riflemen/chs/carbineers just stand there and let a commando of all things get close to you. Do you let a Tkasi master come within 20m of you? The result will be the same.
Because if you had 14 players...with pets.. WITH at-st's.. and a mere 2-4 commandos wiped you out, you guys were doing something HORRIBLY wrong.
Treat a commando just as if you were a tkasi master and you will never have commando problems again.
Otherwise, the result...as you have already experienced it, is lots of dead morons and one grinning commando.
