I am glad to hear all this good news. I have been off fighting NPC's on my grind to Colonel and haven't fought a nest of animals for a while, a long while.

As far as cone 2 it still works for me. I only use it one closely grouped ST's but it continues to effect all of them.

Peace

Well...since I can't play until Saturday I get to enjoy what I read here...

My question is...Was it right for me to push so hard for Ranged Mitigation over Melee Mitigation? Or is it to soon to ask? Just curious as to what people are seeing as the impact....

Ranged mitigation looks like the correct blend. Between Master Commando and TKA (working to Master) defences are just perfect. Ranged attack mobs miss constantly and are forced to melee which is what I want. They approach and I own them. I crush their bones and eat the marrow! We will have to see what remaining changes to combat, creatures, weapons, etc will bring but right now I feel like a Master Commando again.

No problems here.. I managed to get 3 Voritor Dasher's in one hit, first try.

The fact that we need to Master Marksman, but only learn the Unarmed Tree of brawling is probably the best justification for why we should have ranged mitigation over melee.

Also, ranged helps us alot in PvP, where we are weaker. So this was not a mistake.

Working on getting Master Commando. I dont think that this will last. They are revamping the combat system in 4 phases (See The Art of War in the Dev forum). Phase 1 was implemented last night. They did state that after phase 1 that some players would find creatures harder to kill while others would find it easy.

From what I read here , looks like we got the easy part. I have a feeling it wont last though. I hope I am wrong....

Anyways lets make the best of it and enjoy it while we can

garvin, as master tka you will love it.

After seeing the defenses and mitigation effects of both Mcommando and Mtka, im not dropping either of them. Ill just up 3 boxes in rifle accuracy to give me a reliable long range weapon (plus riflemen got sniper support skill in this very tree which gives them a good chance of pulling just 1 creature aggro from a nest if firing from 50m+ )

what about those Commando's without Melee secondaries...how are you feeling with the lack of melee mitigation? I'm just curious...goes back to whether we need some form as both if we focus on just the commando profession...trying to feel out how we are post patch...

those without melee mitigation will be like we were before the 2.5x patch i believe. except that they will get hit every time a melee swings at them.. no 'miss' messages will pop up until they get the master box with the melee defenses I presume.

It seems to be fine with me. I was able to take out three dewbacks without breaking a sweat. This may change after all the combat changes are done, but for now, it works.

You guys are KILLING me! Stupid first holocron told me to master musician. I had to drop my commando skills to master that. 2nd holocron said to master carbinier. Still working on that at this point in time. It's a tad slower now that I lost my higher pet-tank, but I'll get there.

I can't wait until I can open my FS slot and put my character back to the way I was working him. I'll be glad to join the ranks of my fellow commandos in the near future.

I've been having so much fun. I should be working my TKA but I was just so impressed that as master commando I do better against mobs then my TKA 1-1-1-2. lol Imagine that, im better as a master.

That and I keep just zipping through towns on my swoop bike. lol

OK... so I'm easily amused.

I'm going for Commando Rifleman.. I feel perfectly happy with ranged mit tho, since that's what we'll face most in PvP (except when fighting TKs and stuff, but methinks you fight more pistoleers/bhs/etc than meeleers)
