Thread: TH: Could you please look at this? (With sugar on top.) (And a cherry.)

I understand that there are a lot items you would like to see addressed. Here is my best advice:
The HAM revamp and the meat of the combat balance is scheduled for Publish 8. When Publish 8 goes to Test Center, then is the time to get on, play with combat and post your comments in the TC feedback threads. Thats when all of theseconcerns can be addressed.
TH,
Can we get an update of where we are with CC for TC? I just dont have the time to grind thru this profession again on TC, and still waiting for this feature to be implemented

But in the meantime, we're gimped in any kind of dungeon-indoors situation. A commando at the Geonosian lab is a joke. Almost everything there is armoured and heat resistant. Underground, we have two damage types we can do: acid and heat. If this is going to be changed in Publish 8, tell us, don't dangle a carrot just to get us onto Test Center and then be disappointed.
Honestly, the heavy weapons and grenades are the only thing bothering me about commando right now. We've been told the HAR is getting fixed, and while I'd like to see it replaced or given armour-piercing, I'll be satisfied with a fix, because it does nice damage to acid vuln mobs.
So, could we please know whether we can use them indoors after publish 8?

Sorry to say, this is a big issue involving a lot of things. Work on this is being done all along, but it probably wont be done until June or July.

I have to agree with Wolfmann here.
This testing/feedback system is becoming too confusing.
Where are we supposed to post feedback and suggestions?
1. Commando Forum
2. In Concept Forum
3. In Development Forum
4. In Live Forum
5. Test Center Forum
?
I'm honestly confused. It's beginning to seem that the TC forum is the only place to be heard now. 80% of the dev tracker posts involve TC threads and you guys are obviously trying to encourage players to get on TC.
But, as Wolfmann points out, aren't changes in any given patch "locked" once they go to TC? Isn't TC only for bug reports and NOT for suggestions?
I think we need some clarification as to just what path suggestions are supposed to be elevated along. I don't mean to sound resentful or something, but what about all of the feedback that's been made here? Was it a waste of time?
We want to help you make a better game for all of our sakes, have been since beta, but we need a clearer picture of where and how to post relevant information. If TC is the best way, then the "lock" on changes needs to be removed. Feedback doesn't do much good once changes are coded in, correct?
Thanks for the info TH...
On a slightly off topic mention (but thought I'd bring it up since TH is visiting this thread), did anyone see TH's recent mention of a recent Commando experience he had...Seems TH was using his Flame Thrower against some ST's in a town and ended up running for his very life...
That right there proved to me that TH knows our pain...I may not agree all the time with what he posts or the way he posts it, but to me there is not question anymore that he plays a Commando...
TH, if you have a chance, take those Commando skills to the Geon Lab and see how you fair...Personally I like that cave, but it does bring up clear reasons we need a different weapon/specials to use in that type of place...a fixed HAR isn't going to help us much...
And while we are on it, any hints to the resists that will be in play for the new Corvette mission coming? Will it be a group thing or a solo project? And if possible, will the opponents we find there have high Heat resists like the Crazed Geons?
PS...if you'd like to Make Garvin on TC a Master Commando I'd love to go test it for myself...hint hint...![]()
TH running for his life from stormies?....Bad TH!..You are not to shoot the stormies, its those Rebels you are to shoot.
(I wish I had seen that...I would not have lifted a finger to help TH, nor the stormies..as I would have been on my back with tummy cramps from laughter....
)
What is "Core System" for????

1. Professions forum: Discuss and agree what top issues are and be a community with discussions, answering questions, etc.
2. In-Concept is for a brainstorm thats comingup in the future.
3. In-Development is for suggestions to the major features that are posted. If there is something critical you want addressed, let your correspondent know so he can elevate the issue.
4. In-Test is when things hit the testing server. This is when tweaks and some suggestions can be made (depending on how sweeping the change is.)

Hmmmm.
Is anybody familiar with the term "Backblast"?
Backblast is that explosive force which comes out the back of a rocket launcher. It can be FATAL (anybody see Red Dawn, the brothers shot an RPG and fried the KGB Officer coming up behind them?) Inside there is no place for that backblast to go. IF the backblast does not kill you then you can rest assured that your next language skill will have to be sign language. Believe it or not there is a science to shooting a rocket launcher from inside a building. Mostly it involves NOT doing it, but if you are going to, the preparation is not 'earplugs'. It is ultra-sound proof helmet (which MIGHT save your hearing) and it is a flame resistant, blast resistant suit of armor.
I support the fact that you cannot shoot a launcher inside a building. Grenades on the other hand excel indoors. Short range, very good at cleaning out a room. You can bounce them off walls, roll them around corners, drop them in people's backpacks, etc.
And if it is an Imperial throwing the grenade you can pull the pin and throw it back! ![]()
But seriously, grenades SHOULD be usable indoors and launchers should not. However, if people insist on using Rocket Launchers then I suggest they triple the damage and the radius. Then it should get interesting.
Have a nice day ![]()

Kind of like how we wrote hundreds of posts protesting the new pet calling timers and were ignored, then when the timers hit TC they were halved because they were so onerous?
