I'm just a ghost from the past who just keep haunting you all...

This forum has so many community leaders it's incredible...And with Starnick in the lead position, this CU is going to kick butt for Commandos...

Agreed. I am ready and looking forward to go forward into this thing with you guys. We have been a class that has been under powered for too long. This is our chance to shine again.

I am getting that giddy feeling I got the day I landed in Bestine. Knew exactly what I wanted to be too.

I'll try to remain calm. However if I can and see everything I usually am fine. I'm the type of person who isn't afraid of lightning cause I know what it is. I usually (Hmm well...) thinks things through. However if something is vague or left out I might jump on it. I will try not to.

But I never write mindless "OMG This SUX!" type of blabber. I try to say why it is wrong calmly and more importantly provide what I think to be workable solutions.

people might also want to think of the changes as a new profession instead of comparing things to how they once were

like any fencer might be in for a shock with lower defence then before

try things a new way dont follow what you did before that should keep ya alive longer then most

Personally I'm just happy we are going to see changes.

If these changes make the game FUN, then I'll be happy. If the game is not FUN, well then why call it a game.

But if I see somoething I don't like, then sure, I'll come here and discuss it with you guys (what else am I gonna do, lol?). Now, if Garvin, Stern, and the vast majority of us does not like something and the devs do not listen, and do not take action according to our feedback, well . . .

Great point...some folks may look at their professions and say "we lost this" or "they lowered that", when really they should be seeing everything as brand new...it's a brand new ballgame with new formulas and such...What we had before, what we needed back then, is completely different now...Even though some things will look the same (like our FT for example) in the background, they are different...

The other trick is not to look at any one profession as being "complete" but rather think of a template as complete when it spends all of it's skill points available. Every profession is not meant to be a "stand alone"...In the past, when we needed more defenses we'd beg the devs to add more to our profession...Post CU it'll make more sense for us to dabble for what we need which will include more defenses, abilities, effects, certs, etc...again...you aren't done until you spend all the skill points you can...it's then that you need to verify what is or isn't balanced.

If at first they don't listen to our calm and rational requests...then you'll see me go into "rant mode" along with the rest of you...the key to getting them to listen to us is "building a case" and showing we have a genuine need for something to change...

Personally, if everything goes like they've proposed to us, I'm pretty confident we'll be much happier then we are now and Commandos will again be seen by many as a viable threat as well as someone they'll want to group with. Heck, I also think we'll be seeing a huge surge in new Commandos (including Master Commandos) coming post-CU, even by people who never before considered trying Commando...

If you look at the commando's as a whole, we aren't meant to be a solo bot (sure we can and do because we are just that good) but we are suppose to be the heavy weapons support in a group. The way that I am seeing this is that the CU is putting more emphasis on Group Gameplay. We will still be in demand to help in the group, especially with the new profession integration, and we will still have fun.

There are no frogs to start with. The first part of testing will be solely fro Marksman and brawler and not even elite testing if I understood TH's post correctly. Its when we get higher up that this may become an issue.

I'm chomping at the bit for this to come up on TC. It will be reminscent of the good old days. We won't have armor (won't be cert'd for any for awhile anyway) no buffs unless someone really puts some time and energy into collecting resources when it starts. No Uber duber weapons. A bunch of unarmored unbuffed newbs hitting some womp rats. I'm kind a glad they are taking this progressive route to the testing it should be some fun.

It's likely that the frogs will be available at launch, but heavily restricted to the point where, at launch, they'll just provide resources and many a few deeds (if the devs don't have "special settings" set up to give us things like vehicles when we first log in)...

As time goes on, they'll remove certain restriction from the frogs which will allow us to get money, template build, etc...

In the beginning, the devs want to see how the "novice experience" goes over with folks in the new CU environment...

Remember...we are there to test to make sure this CU works...
