I'm a commando because of my lifelong love of fire. Asa child it gave me such glee to light things on fire. I would steal matches from my parents and go into the backyard to burn up insects. Ah, those were the days. I find it most enjoyable to have the oppurtunity to do the same in SWG with the flamethrower. The satisfying sound of the "whoosh" as the flames wash over my victims is heavenly. I only wish there was a burning pain soundmade as their skin melts away. That would make me very happy.

Do you think the devs would consider adding such a feature?

Do you have to be a Pyro to like commando? Seems like it, can't recall how many BBQ comments and Bevis shouts I have done since I took it up. FIRE FIRE!

Would like bigger explosions too.

Curious. Has anyone else gone through the trouble like I have in getting together the commando gear the rebels wore during the battle of Endor? Brownish green pants, green shortsleve jacket, etc? I have the exact replica for all the good it does me. /shrug

But to your question... I think it is a love it or leave it type of thing. We seem to be one hell of a masochistic class. I'm still working my way back up to master commando after leaving the class once... did not find more satisfaction elsewhere.

LOL, thanks for the responses, just the kind of things I needed to see... I am a Master Commando/TKM now though and it just really pissed me off when they implemented the delay when you switched weapons... there was nothing better in PvE or PvP when you could KD/Dizzy someone, and then immediately Flame then. Oh, those were the days...

I once stuck the KD/Dizzy on a guy in PvP and then added the Flame DoT... he could not stand up, so I kept flaming him for at least 45 seconds... eventhough it still took me over a minute to kill the guy using flamesingle2, it was still funny as heck that I would just re-dizzy him to keep him on the ground.

Oh also, I did forget that you can stack the DoT's from the different flame specials... This does work right? So for all the newbies out there, in PvE, make sure you have a macro that looks like this /flamesingle2; /flamesingle1; /flamecone2; flamecone1; (repeat)

Works great... oh and did everyone else love to play with fireworks in RL as they were growing up? I did!

The delay on weapon switch really hurt. As master pistoleer/master commando, meledefense1/flameshot2/fanshot with a launcher was a beautiful combo. not so much now.

and i know its something we all want, but when you look at the skill costs, bounty hunters and commandos should have certain advantage at master. theres no sense in have professions be "equal" when the requirements are far from equal.

i'd love to into weaponsmithing. wouldn't it be great to make the things nobody stocks?

that said, i'm not changing! i've only had 1 elite profession since i mad this char (9 months ago! with a 1 month vacation) and i'm sticking with it. (they never said the heavy troops were the brightest).
