Thread: Master Commando's first experiences with Publish 6...
My flamer does 10-13k per hit, which is good..
Who needs the dot when 90% of creatures die in 1 hit, and the other 10% die in 2 hits..
Also, this gives us more of a chance in PVP..
I like the changes!
Ok so it sounds to me that the changes might make pvp more fun. While I haven't been able to log in yet and mess around some it sounds like us hitting harder and our dots while doing less damage burn faster. The faster the dot burns the harder it is for someone to heal themselves for be healed.
So if you hit someone for 2500 damage, and say they are buffed to 3k damage. They will be left hurting with a fast acting dot on them, giving them less time to run and heal. So if they don't die with in the 5 or so seconds after dot our next flamesingle will drop someone if it lands.
My first experience with this patch came just today, I got a report from a guild member that there was an overt imperial in Kor Vella, holding a flamethrower, I thought great, a nice commando on commando fight, I rush to the nearest base(about 2km away), declare, rush back with about 30 seconds before the shuttle shows, burst running in I flamecone2 the target and his pet(which I wasn't informed about). Both of us were buffed so it was taking me a while to bring him down, next thing I know I see a THIRD red dot about to enter the shuttle area, I move to the entrance, and as soon as the person comes in I let loose with a flamesingle2, after realizing she's only weakly buffed I turn my attention back to the commando who has yet to close the distance to burn me. Several seconds later I see:
"You have been diseased." Meh, just a mind disease, not a problem.
"You have been poisoned." Mind poison, okay that's a bit of a problem.
"You have sustained more poison." Really not good...
"You have sustained more disease." Okay that's just not necessary.
Looking over, I see it's the person I burned that has done this, I pop a muon and give chase of the CM, but she manages to get clear while healing her damage. I see her get outside, but have to turn around to finish off the commando then his pet, when I look back to the CM, the fire is gone, and so is most of my mind, I quickly make for the exit and am forced to suck back some prepatch angerian I had saved up. Don't even make it to my bike before I'm incapped. A friendly CM heals my mind and runs off somewhere. I get out 100m out of Kor Vella and am incapped a second time. Up a few seconds later, remounted get 400m out, incapped again, killed, cloned, check my character sheet, 742 mind wounds.
Just out of curiousity I sent a tell to my opponents. The commando isn't able to tell me how much wounds he got from my flame but the CM tells me she got 300 health wounds, which were now already almost gone.
I was absolutely PISSED when I found this out. I'm not saying Commandos should be the be all end all of causing wounds in PvP, but I'm forced to question how it's "balanced" that we now do so few wounds to a pool that is easily healable in the field, but CMs can still do so many wounds to pool that is slightly harder to heal wounds, and very rare that you can heal damage to? Not to mention the fact that CM dots STILL stack, but ours are too overpowered to stack.
Nice warm glass of Hipocrosy anyone?
Needless to say, I spend a lot of time in the cloner & cantina.

So, if I read this right...
First, Flamesingle2 does nearly twice the initial damage in PvE...
Second, the DoT is 10 percent of what the initial damage is (or about)...
Third, given that the DoT is 10 percent of what it used to be, they made tick about twice as fast?
If the 75% PvP reduction holds true, Flamesingle2 will do about 2500 dam...Not too bad, if you ask me...If we hit them to begin with...
Am I reading this right??
Based on my experience so far today, that about sums it up.
