Got the same template.
SinceI don't solo PvP and usually group hunt.
I dont need healing skills so I put mine into Scout; for the harvesting skills.

well.. how about FS range defense and Mele defense?
FS range speed and accuracy might be nice too. Sure, they don't work now. But I have confidence that one day soon they will *snicker*.

I would also recommend Pistoleer. You could take xxx3 Pistoleer which would give you +30 melee def. +15 pistol acc. while standing and +23 pistol spd counting the Novice Pistoleer box (you also get some dodge from Novice Pistoleer also). I took xxx3 Pistoleer myself until I had to begin dropping it for FS skills, and I definetly liked that template.
You could also take xx3x Pistoleer which get you the Geo Blaster and +40 def vs. blind, stun and dizzy. The specials you get from this line could help but I believe the Smuggler specials are better.
Personally I would recommend xxx3 Pistoleer. The pistol mods and defenses will help alot if you use pistols often.
As far as not having medic to heal I dont think its that big of a problem. I was afraid to give up medic at first also butI have been playing without it for months now and I can count the number of times I have regretted not having it on one hand
(of course being a TKM with meditate may have influenced that somewhat
. Try picking up some pistoleer, if you dont like it you can drop the skills and pick up whatever amount of medic you desire in a matter of minutes.

Bah wish I could edit (when do you get the edit option? thought it was at 100 posts)
Anyway I forgot to mention the TKA meditate which you originally talked about.
If you want to compare 18 points into medic vs.18 points into TKA meditate there are a few things to look at.
With 18 points for medic you can only pick up novice and one box. Having that amount of medic will only allow you to heal wounds and damage, (you need 20 points to get first aid I believe). You will only be able to use Stim B's and will beable to heal about 500 HAM points per heal tops.
With 18 points into TKA meditate you will be able to heal bleeds, poison, and disease, plus you will be able to powerboost.
So if you want to heal damage go with medic if you want to heal bleeds, poison, and disease go with tka meditate.
Hope this helps

OH WAIT! I know what you can do with the extra 18 points!
Give them to me. See, 18 points is really enough to do much with.. but 36 points is. SO donate your remaining skill points to me and one of us will be much more viable in the game. Its beautiful in its simplicity.
I wasted a free tree on jedi luck. It has increased the amount of cash I loot and that is it. I rarely get under 100c of of things, but on the other hand I seem to loot credits more often instead of looting a cdef pistol. I like wasting FS skills and can't wait to finish grinding range speed and range accuracy. It makes me feel like I have gotten a good return on the time, effort, and money I pour into this game. (ppsstt. that was sarcasm)

Honestly here, from a long time Master Commando. Start the Jedi grind. Reason being is this: When you are a Master Commando you have just spent over half of your Skill points on a dead profession. Now don't get me wrong all, I am a Commando for the Core, but when you are Commando and you are a Commando to the Core you will notice something after a while.....you are only playing for the C.U, that is no way to play the game. I like the Higher end content of the game (I.E Krayts, DWB, Ackley, occasional PVP) and I just couldn't compete. Some would say "well try a new profession", that's what I advise you to do when you get that empty feeling of not getting the loot rights', no getting your FT handed to you by a Single Mastery Player. Master Commando gives the Proton Cert. and this is a God SEND! Grind out Jedi, Unlock with in 3 week's if you have 6 quests completed, and then start your Alt on the Commando Grind. This is what I have done, and I recommend it to all those who are becomming as bitter as I have become. Keep the game fresh for yourself, do what you want, but the Jedi path is just my humble recommendation.

You could always invest them in some FS modifiers to bolster your other skills. I personally grabbed luck and repair to make maintanence of my gear easier and to (allegedly) increase my chances of getting loot.
In hindsight, Luck was probably a waste of FS skills and I should have grabbed ranged/melee defense... but such is life.
