Yes........if they stay at least 30m away from you and don't have a ranged weapon.

I am both a TKM and Master Commando, and for the question can a commando beat a TKM?...Well it is possible if you are an experienced PvP'er but most likely not. When I PvP I actually use both my skills. Which is more powerful? TKM but you already knew that. If you want to survive a TKM I suggest getting at least 80% comp full buff ooo and varasian brandy rocks. However just as a commando your KD/Dizzy defense SUCKS and if you are fighting an experienced TKM he will KD you and stack dizzy (yes dizzy will stack and yes you will be on your back longer then the one dizzy) and if you have uber buffs? headhit headhit over and over and your done I dont care if you are wearing full comp 80 resist its over. Bottom line can a commando beat a TKM yes its possible. Will a commando beat a TKM not if the TKM is experienced in PvP.

right.........

If he was pure tka you could beat him, ive seen several commandos one shot tks before.

Though tk/rifleman would be a pain in the butt to kill, so against taht id say no, not without some good pvp xp under yer belt an a bit of luck

The only time a commando will one shot anything is in an unbuffed, unarmored fight. In real pvp situations, everyone is buffed and everyone is wearing 80% armor. I've been both master commando and master TK (still am a TKM), and under no circumstances will an experienced pvper with buffs and armor ever lose to a commando. Sure, you can wear that 80% ubese or composite armor, but VK's have ap1, meaning that it is only 80% dmg reduced. A commando using flamesingle2 against 80% composite is at a much bigger disadvantage. Since the flamer is ap0, 50% of the attack is null and void before the armor resist is ever taken into effect.Afterall that is taken intoeffect, I get hit on average for about 200 against a flame attack, while at the same time, it's like having the commando put warcry on themselves. I've killed 4 fully buffed, armored, fed, and spiced master commandos on me at one time using nothing but my novice medic and TKM skills (with ease, health never dropped below half). KD/dizzy is very easy to land on a commando due to the lack of defenses against either stat. Furthermore, as a TKM, I can attack the mind of my opponent at a rate of once per second. Even with the best kinetic helmets, that head hit will still be doing about 60 pts of dmg per second (average of about 110 -200 against most composite armor helms). It may take some time against well prepared commandos, but conversly, there is no attack a commando has that has a prayer of ever killing my TKM, who is always fully buffed, powerboosted, on food, and wearing the best armor available (like every other pvper worth their salt, the battle is won in preperation).

Is it possible for a commando to beat a TKM in pvp? Absolutely, as it's possible for any class to beat another in pvp. However, the TKM must be an extremely unprepared, poor pvper(note to TKM's lurking, only use UH3 on unarmored foes, your a fool to use anything other than head hit as your main attack) for a master commando to even have a slight chance of defeating one.

ok i did a quick experement vs my guildie TKM (pure - he is also a MBE). he was unarmoured, i was in about standard 51% kinetic comp. (cant afford the 80% stuff - i started to buy ubese now also)

now, i used the anit-KD food - it was top of the line +94 ani KD. (BE enhanced, cost (for me ) a fortune. the thikitan or whatever stuff) I let him try to KD me, with out trying to hithim the first time - it took him he said 5 spammed KD to KD me. i.e. the stuff works. i was incaped of course but it took him a about6 seconds. (he is experianced in PvP)

we then dueled agian and again it took him 4-5 KD to get me down.

third time i shot back with flame II after eating snowcake - and inacaped him with that one shot.

anyway i am not saying we are now kings, and he WAS unarmoured, but the food at least can definatlyhelp.

Simple, pull out any range weapon and run away from the TKA (or any melee profession) stay outside of 20m and you'll win 100% of the time without taking a scrap of damage. Very easy and also is the reason why melee professions are utterly impotent in PvP when they go solo.

I have done PvP many times, infact I chased an apprentice pistoleer across tatooine for around 5 mins without catching up to him. I eventually stopped chasing because the bleeds were slowly wearing me down. For a pure melee fighting profession the fact is that unless you manage to land a KD/Dizzy then you don't stand a chance in hell of ever catching up to someone running away from you properly. This is the problem with people wanting to play a pure melee character in PvP, all a ranged player has to do is kite and it's a no win situation unless the other player does something very stupid. So there's only one way a melee player can win and thats with a successful ambush.

As for staying behind walls, kindly remember that only around 10% of any planets surface has cities. You cannot expect melee players to limit themselves to fighting in those places, the fact still remains though that if the ranged fighter plays it smart and keeps their distance they'll win. I once tried to lure someone inside a building into close quarters, in the end he got bored and left because I knew going out into the open means I lose and he knew coming inside would get him killed.

I'm a MTK but I've only ever duelled as I'm neutral - no GWC until they fix most of the exploits. e.g. Double buffing, there's nothing like a 7k HAM to give you an edge and this is probably the least of the exploits around at the moment. I've always thought it odd that opponents can't fire back when they are KD/Dizzy and on the floor. It just isn't logical. I can understand maybe their accuracy going down and I can understand the TK's melee damage being higher but being totally helpless just isn't congruent. If somebody slapped me to the deck and I had a gun, you can be pretty sure I wouldn't just keep trying to get up, I'd take out his kneecaps or something even more vital about 18" higher.

I just think any class that has an almost invincible move (if it lands), is pointless. There is now a counter to flame DoTs with fire blankets, I think it's time that opponents on the floor should be able to shoot back, even if their damage/accuracy is reduced. If nothing else, it would actually make sense.

Seeing as all our non-consumables only work at 16m or closer, kiting isn't really an option. You can try using supression fire and whatnot I suppose, but I've generally found them to be terribly ineffective at doing much of anything, especially against a decently armored oponent.
