The problem is they want to keep the crafters in business so they do this but yet, a crafter such as the armorsmith, likes to charge an ungodly amount.

So, instead of looking at the reasons prices are so high in the SWG economy, They assume people are not buying enough which would mean no demand but thats wrong because there is plenty of demand for armor or else prices wouldnt be that high.

The reason prices are so high is because theres nothing to keep crafters from making them so high. One guys sets his prices at x amount, another guy sees that hes getting that ammount so he in turn sets his prices at x ammount and then everyone follows suite. That coupled with the fact that combat classes rely on crafters for weapons, armor, and such but the crafters really dont have to rely on combat classes for much of anything in return. So the flow of credits is a one way street. Some combat classes have found ways to make good money. Most have gone the way of harvesting rescources for an income. This is rediculous IMO. Why should a combat class have to rely on an artisan skill to make money to support being a combat class?

Well I have two character one is an armorsmith and tailor and I can tell you I am still not in favor of death decay. It doesnt make any difference for tailors since you can still wear clothing at 0 condition. As for armor it decays with use anyways and most armorsmiths charge enough for their armor to make a good profit. As a crafter based character I say death decay sucks.

My other character is a commando/pistoleer and I have found a way to get around the decay loop for PvP vs PvE. Usually I will dedicate my game time to one or the other so the trick is to buy two droids with storage modules. Have two set of armor. One that you use for PvE with high kinetic resists and one for PvP with stun resists since most people that see composite armor usually whip out the stun weapons. If you are planning on going to do a lot of PvE then put on your PvE armor and put your PvP suit in your droid. Any items in a droid are not affected by death decay and are not factored in to the insure all function. do the same with your PvE armor when you plan on going raiding. A droid can hold 10 items which is perfect for a full suit of armor.

lol why bother buying new clothes? even if your clothes get reduced to 0 they dont disapear. I buy new clothes just for new looks, armor to keep me alive but if this is all thats in store for this game, I pray to god or gods that I get into WoW beta so I can leave this hell once and for all.

i think its for PvP only, though i think it should be if your insured you dont decay at all, i dont like paying 3k for my items to be insured only to have them get messed up when i die

instead of decay or corpse runs or xp loss, I think the best 'penalty' of death is the good old TIME penalty.

By this I mean the TIME lost having to get BACK to where you died. Sort of like corpse runs (which are a drag because game bugs do make you lose stuff..it still does in EQ, and that been around forever).

Make CLONING centers be only in MAJOR cities. Aka coronet, theed, mos eisley. If you die in Dathomir, you clone back in coronet. You die in Moenia, you clone in Theed.

its as easy as that.

It regulates combat times.. as people wont be able to just clone and be back to defend or attack a base within seconds.

It works WONDERS in dark age of camelot.. the 'bind' places are inside each side's territories, and the 'conquearable' pvp areas are far, far, far away from those bind areas. It takes about 10 minutes to get there. So in essence, a pvp fight IS determined by the skill of the individual fighters, their equipment, their group skills and the composition of their group.

'Foolish boy. Don't you know anything about Fantasia? It's the world of human fantasy. Every part, every creature of it, is a piece of the dreams and hopes of mankind. Therefor, it has no boundaries.'
'But why is Fantasia dying then?'
'Because people have begun to loose their hopes and forget their dreams. So the nothing grows stronger. It's the emptiness that's left. It's like a despair, destroying this world. And I have been trying to help it.'
'But why?'
'Because people who have no hopes are easy to control. And whoever has control has the power'

I like this, and think if you could capture different cities for a particluar faction. My god, it would be like a war or something.

"Why should a combat class have to rely on an artisan skill to make money to support being a combat class? "

I totally agree.

And for the stupidest item of the day...

"Faction Insurance-Free Day Pass"

In order not to get decay in pvp..you MUST be a member of a faction...and only lasts a day...im curious to see what ungodly amount of FP they're gonna charge for this one

And for crafters...im a master architect on valcyn..and i can get so angry at other crafters who CHARGE for experimentation...experimentation takes like 20 seconds to do..and if your a mws or mas..your gonna experiment the schematic, then pop it into a factory..ONE experimentation there, yet they continue to charge ungodly for good weapons/armor

Take my for example:

For Ber 9/10 Mineral Harvs..i charge 6,400 cr

At 3cpu..which is the norm, it should be 10,881 cr

Yet, most architects would charge no less than 15k for a Ber 10 harv...hell ive seen some going for 40k to 80k....its SICK

I despire the 3 cpu standard policy, and dont use it...instead i do everything based on components then a factor of 1 or 2 for deeds or harvestors..only for furniture do i use some form of Cpu but its specific for what resources used since that greatly can affect the price. For structures, especially harvs..i ONLY use steel for them, and ONLY mine the best with at least 3 medium 10's on at least 70% to 90% concentrations..over a course of a shift..that is ALOT of resources

And i only mass produce medium harvestors..they're in my eyes alot better than hvy harvestors...and cost alot less resources to make as well (for me, a hvy ber 13-14 harv is 66k)

Am I undercutting? NO, Am I making a profit? YES..im modestly wealthy at the moment, and i almost always have 1-3 MILLION per week in orders..and i have a huge clientel database now because of my low and fair prices. If i wasnt making a profit, i wouldnt sell at low prices...instead i make a profit, do mass mining (ppl tend to calculate how much they should cover resources on a PER DAY scale..i do every 10 days..which for me is less than 1 cr for any given resource)..and SELL IN VOLUME..and able to compete with the 30 architects around me on corellia. Thats business, which most crafters dont even think about.

Anyways..im getting off on a tangent...just to close this..i had a AS friend who once told me that most armors were really cheap in resources (meaning not a whole deal of resources)..and ppl selling suits of composite for 230k just want a bigger profit margin...and really charge for very good quality resources (like 20 cpu...yet it prolly cost them a few cr to mine..) and experimentation.

Anyways..im now all angry and whatnot..and ill end my post here..

I like this Tac. This would also stop the infinite battles that 2 medics can have when cloned in the same place. Get tired of fighting someone, killing em, then having them clone, vanquish wounds, and come back. This typically goes on for a while till someone decides to be the one to get away. Or if you die, some one comes to the clone tank to try to pick you off again so going to a safe area would be nice.
