If I remember correctly...decay was a huge issue with you...did you see this from the friday feature?

The Little Things: The little things matter as much as the big things. There were many sound upgrades, improvements to the graphic user-interface and even a few minor activities for players to find. Many POI's and places where NPC's interact with each other (or NPC theaters). One of the "biggest little" things with this publish will be the removal of "insured decay" from the death penalty. Instead of having a 1% decay for items, players will have no decay as long as they have insurance.

Apparently it shoulds like that change iscoming with the next patch...it's a step in the right direction...still wish they'd get rid of it all until the fix the armor bug (a known bug in which sometimes an attack can go right through your armor like your not wearing any...it's because the AI targets an eye hole that is a throw back from beta...)

I could be wrong but I thought the elmination of the 1% decay was just for PVP. PVE would still have it?

That's what I've heard too...but I also heard that the PVP system will remove decay all together, whether insured or not...in essence, if you are insured and you die PVP, you won't lose that insurance...you won't have to run and buy more...no decay whether you're insured or not...

PVE if you are insured, not decay...and if you die, you'll have to buy more insurance still to prevent decay next time you die...

This is just a guess based on the posting...you can never be sure what they mean since they love being cryptic...

I hear ya!

How many pieces of composite, with stacked stats, and decient skill tapes have you gone through due to even 1% decayPLUS normal wear and tear?

Nothing is worse then a Master Armorsmith saying..."Ahhhh...ermmm...I'm sorry dude....", and you know you have a new piece of furnature.

Well great...TH was totally wrong in his post...check this out:

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=in_testing&message.id=2032

Apparently 1% decay will still be in if you are insured, and you will still have things decay when killed no matter if you fighting pvp or pvp or whether you are insured or not...the only change is that when insured and fighting pvp, if you die, you keep the insurance...BIG FREAKING WOOP...I save 2K, but all my items decay...what's the point to fighting PvP for fun if I risk damaging my items or my opponent risks theirs...Personally I'm going to stick with my plan to avoid all PvP...the decay thing sucks the whole fun out of it whether I win or not...

TH mentions how the removal of decay will hinder business to tailors and armorsmiths...

I dont get this. People have continued to buy armor and clothes when decay was in and when it wasnt. In fact I would think that people have bought less armor because of decay. I'm one of them. I havnt bought a single peice of armor because of decay. The only thing that the lack of decay effects would be tailors, but how hard would it be to make clothes decay? They made armor and weapons decay, along with crafting tools, and such. Just make clothes decay over time, removed decay from death and everythign will be fine.

It just seems so simple to me...

imho it isn't decay that sucks the fun out it's the guy with 2m worth of armour

Sure I could theoretically get a similar suit, not likely though, the more item necessities they remove the more fun it'll be. I want to compete players skill vs players skill, not versus their items.

No offense to maddogs there, much love commando bruva, just used you as an example.

The problem is they want to keep the crafters in business so they do this but yet, a crafter such as the armorsmith, likes to charge an ungodly amount.

So, instead of looking at the reasons prices are so high in the SWG economy, They assume people are not buying enough which would mean no demand but thats wrong because there is plenty of demand for armor or else prices wouldnt be that high.

why cant things go back to the good ole days where you had to do corpse runs i loved doing that. if they are so worried about tailors neededing repeated buisness why not make clothing decay like armor but alot faster? and why not make it disapear once it reachs 0 or make it un equippable....
