Thread: Flamethrowers bugged?

I find myself having to kill NPC's like 3-4 times on some ocassions :/

Sometimes if i think i killed one and then start hitting the next one the npc will get up and run away and take out my bike. Ive had this happen to me 4 times since the CU went live, and my creature mount incapped about 10 times. Now ive learned to store my bike whenever i get off of it. Just annoying to think their dead only to turn around and see them blowing up your bike lol!

Whatever it is, its funky. The DoT seems to incap, but then the mob gets back up and you disengage from combat. Your target remains on fire, and doesn't seem to die until you re-engage and deliver a final shot.

The most irking problem with this, is that the target disengages and just stands there not being killed by the Fire DoT. I can see if its intended that the fire DoT not having the ability to fully kill a target, but not be something where you no longer know whats been killed or not. Its a problem, but more of a frustrating level than a profession breaking one involving our AoE (currently the biggest issue Im pushing to the devs, which is being taken in by Helios...we will be seeing fixes and enhancements to see to it that our weapons do a form of heavy damage).

I was playing around nuking CL1 Chunkers with my flamer. They all took WAY more damage then they had, but the ones with a DOT would either lie there unattackable, or get up and keep shooting.

I wonder if I could spray these "fires of life" on my teammates to save them from dying?







The target can still be on fire when they get up - visually they will have the flame around them - but thier health seems to regenerate furiously once they do stand. Almost as if once they are incapacitated with the flame, the DOT goes negative and seems to heal them. I know that sounds rediculous and paranoid, but I even thought on TC that I was healing with the flamethrower sometimes.

So I completely agree with your assessment here.



And also thank you StarNick for keeping up the fight. Flamethrowers don't work well at all now, but I STILL don't use any other commando weapon after the CU besides the flamethrower (plasma, but it is still my old flamer). Although I have been using the
Lightning Beam Cannon (but not much, since it has the same fire DOT problem that the flamethrower has by the way).

Grenades right now mean instant death for me if I throw old ones I uncrate. The ones I loot are actually better. I have a bunch of crates of Proton and Thermal grenades from before the CU that I paid top credits for and are now completely worthless. I aggro everything around me and then cannot attack them again for about 100 seconds or so.

I hope we get fixed soon. I have been waiting for commando to be even better for a long time, and right now I think it just might be worse.
