Sometimes I feel like the Devs want us nerfed. I'm really angry. The CU was suppose to fix us. Now were worse then ever.


Can I just say...


WHAT THE HELL!


My concern is do they care enough to bother fixing us? I mean unless we all quit what's the lost to them?


Perhaps wewill just get overlooked, ya not enough time, more important things to fix like Jedi, bla blaand if we rant and such they'll just ban us.


I refuse to stand for this. They'll just keep saying "Oh were to busy to fix ya right now."


I hope we get fixed soon. Come June and we aren't fixed up I will be very angry.


Also I can't help, but feel the diagram of profession roles is somewhat off. Perhaps it is due to the dumb damage modifer, but I really haven't seen a TKM tank anything or Rifleman do tons of damage. And we sure aren't doing our proper damage, because we should be doing as much if not more then Rifleman and Swordsman just using our basic attack.

  • I agree. The dps should match that of T21 at least. I'd like to see 330 base dps on this weapon since it is has no AoE and no DoT.

  • We want the underslung carbine to be certed at master. Here's how I envision it working: Max damage at 400-500, and a speed of 1 or 1.1. This would basically make it like an extremely fas gun, firing every second or so. Considering we have no specials of our own, and not everyone wants to dabble, this weapon would be perfect.

  • This sounds a bit too powerful, unless, again, you are talking about modified dps (which everyone's modified dps is different depending on their template). In that case I would have to agree.

  • Fix our AoE to do full damage or 80-90% damage against any other mobs in the blast radius.

  • An AoE that would do about 50-75% would be fine and not overpowering.

  • Cert us an advanced rocket launcher at incindeiary IV or master.

  • I agree 100%. Once we achieve master, we lack any "flavor". Adding a master certed rocket launcher would be perfect! I'd like to see a slow firing weapon that has incredible dps and a blast radius of 10 (with a big explosion effect). That would change up a Master Commando's attack a bit.

Actually, I was talking base. Essentially, our specials, according to the devs, are BUILT INTO our weapons. However, every usable special in any other profession gives a modifier to the weapon damage, around 2-3x the normal dps. Commando weapons, with the "specials" built in, can't compete damage wise to other profs with only profession and prerequisite specials. Therefore, give us higher dps than any other professions' weapons, so that our natural specials will be able to compete with, say, improved leg shot. Give us negative modifiers for any other professions' specials so that we don't do excess of 4k damage with em, instead, only outdamage another special by around 200-300 damage. Another option would be some type of profession specific special at master that does tons of damage with a high recharge timer. A third option would be to increase the base dps of our weapons to an average of around 350-400 or so. That may be enough to make us the heavy hitters we're supposed to be.

But when??? We need a timetable so we can respec and set up our skillset before it's too late. Commandos must have some kind of mod that gives +1,000 to patience. I'm not trying to start a rant forum or flameoff but we've seen TWO hotfixes this week and had 0 progress made with our current issues. Take a look at the totals for the commando forums. There are 99,000 posts in commando. Just a quick look at the other professions shows that this is in the range of 20,000 more posts than many of the other combat class' forums. Why the makers of this game would want todelay fixing issues for1,000's of people who are trying to help them improve the game is beyond me. We identified many of these issues in CURB beta testing, but the game went to live with them still in there? ( A good example is the flaming zombie, where you kill something with your commando weapon but they get back up and keep attacking...took me 5 extra shots to kill something this morning...I bugged this issue at least 5 times in beta yet it was still there in live)They could've fixed it with CURB publish, ROTW publish, tuesday's patch, wednesday's patch, but they didn't. Why? I am tired of being told to wait, wait til when? Are they going to take care of it Thursday?


Another thing, why did all of the other Hybrid Professions new master weapon get put in Master Weaponsmith, but commando is a non-guaranteed loot drop off a new boss mob that hits a finished template character with the power of 12 level advantage modifiers? Combat Medic got Alliance Disruptor, Smuggler got Renegade Pistol, Squad Leader got Intimidator Pistol AND E5 Carbine, commando got the shaft. And then I hear the Proton Rifles that have been looted are borked and don't work? I want to go out and try to get one, but chances are if I do it won't work even after they patch in code to fix it, because you'll have to go get a new proton rifle. Grenade powerup kits crafted pre-cu don't work either, where was this documented?


We've got some serious issues, but all they take the time to do is drop a plaque in our inventory commemorating CU. I love CU, but wish Commando would get fixed.



P.S. I hear if you click on the plaque you can equip it. Using FOTMworthy BH specials you can fling it at enemies. Run up, retrieve it, and fling at the enemies again. It has a higher DPS than the average plasma flamethrower.

Does our "specials" even work? Do they exist? I do more damage with a pistol, not to mention a carbine, than with my flamer, and I´m not even pistoleer.


I agree wholeheartedly with the AoE comments earlier. When I use flamers, a herd of beasts rush me and only the one I shoot at gets hurt. Well, apart from me, obviously.


The HAR blinds me, regardless of distance.



I´m positively surprised by the CU but it seems to me that commando really was left to suck the scraps from the booze-up. Am I out on a swing on that?

so do all you guys miss the old days of comando as well? I know I do. Sure we Sucked back then, But we still suck now. At least pre-CU we were fun to play, borked as we were.

heh, I love CU but those were the days. I used to pull my at-st, take two imp missions, store the at-st, ride up, unarmed kd2 the toughtest npc, pop a synthsteak somewhere in there, and cone everyone and run around walls so I didn't die. I had Master commando/master tk and some stim b's. I didn't like buffs so I used tactics, usually picked off two of the weaker npc's using consumable heavy weaps like rockets or particle beams then mopped up the rest with flame cone 2. I miss cone 2 a lot. People were amazed at it, it was routine for me. Sure, sometimes a General or a Specforce Alliance guy popped me with an advanced shot every once in a while and sent me cloning, but I didn't care because it didn't happen often. I was nuts. Now I gotta drag level 80's away from each other to do missions by myself because it takes too long to kill them and 2 or 3 on 1 I get outdamaged bad.


The second best story is the time me and my bh armor-crazy friend were chasing Black Sun and our buffs ran out. I concealed next to a rock and started hitting the Black sun with heavy rocket launcher. I took a new synthsteak and hit a neutron pixie, already had double stacked brandy in me and just let them fly. The Black Sun was missing half his ham by the time he chased after me. I kited him around the big rock and flamed him to death. My buddy laughed his head off. Good times. I'm tired of ranting and driving my guildmates nuts so I'll just reminisce til they decide we need some help.

Oh god that was great (me= Bh armor crazy friend). We're in the fight of our lives, I'm incapped at that point and watching the assaisan walk towards me when I see a rocket come flying from behind a rock. I was on the floor.


That's a Commando for ya, a credit to the Profession. Hang in there, at least you know that helios is working on it.

I hate to ask.. but when, in another 2 years when they decide this combat system sucks and needs to be replaced?

I was a commando about a month before the CU and i quite enjoyed it


When TC opened up i was straight in there trying out the commando prof , i didnt think much of it but i thought to myself " everything will be fine " and " commando will be awesome you are just playing wrong "



Well it hit live , my damage output was still rubbish , and i agroed everything often getting myself and my group killed
















I dropped commando 2 days later , its awful
