yeah, lol it's true, the point is still the same. We suck in pvp.
just to point out though, since I highly enjoy intelligent discussions like we're having, mitigation is the 75% reduction.
([x-{x*.75}]/2)-(([x-{x*.75}]/2)*y)=z
that's the correct formula and it paints a much darker picture =/

PvE reallyisn'ta problem. Any monkey in decent kinetic armor that doesn't spam specials can tank even krayts for a few hits.(until the armor hole is hit lol)
Go back and read most of the posts again, take yourFT into a PvP battle and see how well you do.
You may incap 1 person, 2 if you are lucky and the enemey CMs and Riflemen don't notice you and drop your mind before the timer is up on your special. Or you get delayed for an additional 10-20 seconds and laid out on your back. Chances are roughly 60% that you won't survive past your first special.
You would be even luckier if you were actually able to DB said incap! You can't until the timer is up and unless you managed to tag their mind pool, hell even then with a CM that knows what they are doing, they are healed before you can give em the coup de gras.
Now, I'm not saying the timer is the problem either I think it's important to have to counter-balance the fairly high damage.
The problem is we used to be able to count on the DoT to helpfinish our work for us while we were admiring the cloud formations, but now the enemycan let the burn go for the full duration and heal the damage once or twice, run into a medic friendly building, use up 1 charge of their health wound pak B'sand shrug it off. (Even with stacked flames, which yes, do still stack)
It didn't "suck so bad" until 9 days ago, it wasn't a cake walk before that but still.
since the latest post flame 2 is great. Up to 10k dam in pve. in pvp, if i get the chance i get 2k dam. secondary burn is like 200 dam. But with 2k damage on the first shot, if the person is not buffed, that person is down and out
Before the next person comes in here and makes any kind of "A commando can one-shot kill anyone" I challenge you to go get a set of at least 60% heat resistant composite armor (can be made by just about any AS these days)...now go fight a PvP with a Commando and let yourself get hit with a flame special...examine the actual damage done after the absorbtions has taken place...now try the same experiment adding in food buffs that improve your resistance...finally image what that damage would be like if you never got within 16m of the Commando...Until you perform this test and have numbers to back up your findings you are full of crap and shouldn't waste our time posting here...you words will mean nothing and will just be more whining...
Garvin the main problem is people are posting this stuff seeing this initial hit and no one bothers to look at the big picture other people are seeing these posts and starting the nerf screams already. This first hit does hit an unarmourd opponent with no heat resists in Pve for a significant amount of damg but that is it. The numbers in PvP are deplorable.
10,000 initial hit -75% for PvP = 2,500
2,500 -50% for an armoured opponent with light armour = 1,750
1,750 -65% heat resists (this is about averg for composite on my server) = 438
now factor in some ranged mitigation that doesn't leave you with much. take into account the horible delay on flame single 2 and the fact that it isn't a HAM spicific attack, it can hit a random ham and does. On top of all this our dot is also effected by resists wich means it's avg 100-200 a tick on a pvp opponent. This higher initial attack looks great in the combat screen but you really gotta start reading betweent he lines people.
Garvin keep up the great work man.
