What "exp nerf"? I hope you're not talking about the completely false rumor that someone I know started. I didn't realize how far it had spread if that's the case.

helios question! why do none of the elite weapon professions (IE pistoleer, riflemen, carbineer) get no new weapons? and if they do... why dont the certs show?
Today...
...I'm pretty sure everyone gets at least some of the new weapons. They're just not all given out as part of the box. In general, you should only see weapon certs in the skill trees that can be crafted by smiths. Loot/quest weapons will most likely not show up in the trees. There are some VERY cool new weapons in there. Playing a commando myself though, I'm of course partial to the heavy weapons.
with the "exp nerf"... FS will become a lot harderand im afraid that the only way too still do it is Nades +TKM and stocking up exp now...i guess i have to wait to see then... i really wish you guys would change it to quests or something besides grinding but.. maybe i'll harass you about it later
oh..no... it will a lot harder to get exp now.. (from what i've seen)at least at this point
- No assault rifle/high speed weapon.
- No specials of our own.
Ok, for 1,
I (and probably everyone else) would REALLY love to see an assault rifle being added, a low damage super high speed weapon. Or at least some other ranged weapon cert (proton carbine?)
And for 2,
I don't think the "dabbler" thing really fits our profession. We're a hybrind profession--even though we do now have the most weapon certs in the game. (like, 11?)
But still, I'd like to see at least 1 or 2 specials so we can perform as stand alone. Perhaps just a generic "Blast Shot" that's basically a powerful attack similar to overcharge, but with less decay.
Other than that,
THIS IS F*CKING AWESOME!!!

Here are my two main issues:
- No assault rifle/high speed weapon.
...There is at least one weapon I can think of off hand that is not listed on the skill tree.
- No specials of our own.
... The commando specials are built into the weapon. This means when you start to stack commando weapon certs (that give you special attacks via the weapon itself) with special moves from say Rifleman or Bounty Hunter or Carbineer you get some really potent attacks.
THIS IS F*CKING AWESOME!!!
Woot.

DOTs come as effects on heavy weapons and grenades.

Uh, doesn't this directly contradict what TH said/posted in the CU documentation postings?
"DoTs: While DoTs, or Damage-Over-Time attacks, will work much the way they did before, weapons with DoTs have been removed."

I believe TH was referring to weapons such as lances that have extra DoT aspects placed on them as "uber" loot, and not as natural effects of the weapon itself i.e. a Flame Thrower will set you on fire and do natural DoT, but being whacked with a stick won't poison your mind.
