Thread: Too Armor or Not To Armor..that is the question!
Full composite for PvE and PvP. I can understand going Ubese for PvE as well, but I have a doctor with me so HAM costs for recovery, specials are not an issue except mind and after/between fights just doff your lid and you are fine.
To choose not to wear armor is to make yourself an easy mark in PvP.
Yeah I'd definitely agree with most people here and say armor is worth it. I made it all the way to 3443 commando beforeI tried armor again (first time was when composite was first available and it only had 20%+ resists so wasn't worth it). I only bought my current set of 70% kinetic ubese because a holo told me to go TKA, but it is certainly worth it. I'm using it now to help finish off commando and even with a graul maulerit certainly helps for those times that one of the group members decides to agro you instead of your pet.
The only down side I've seen is the added mind costs when I use stims. Since we don't spam specials as much as other classes the health and action costs are minimum. I'm not into PVP so I'm not sure of the advantages and disadvantages of using compositve vs. ubses without enhancements, but you should definitely get an encumbarance sliced set of ubses for PVE.
I'm mid-way through the tree and I have a suit of composite that's partly sliced for HAM and resists. Avg resist is about 60%. The HAM cost is a bit high, but with a bit of stat migration it's not much of an issue. When you're walking around just have a macro set up to switch into normal clothes to regen faster.
Are helmets really a must for PvP? Ive been waiting to start PvP till I at least got flame 4 which just did a few days ago but then decided to wait until the damage mod and armor decay is changed but I'm a Twilek so helmets just look plain goofy on me. Any ideas?
