Thread: Commando Correspondent Resignation

I also support Ivoni as the new correspondant, should he like to take the position.

I'm sad to see you go MasterSynn. It really sucks to see how the developers treat you guys after all the hard work you do reading messages and compiling information. Doesn't SOE have hundreds of thousands of customers paying per month? Couldn't SOE afford to hire a developer for each profession? Maybe one developer for two to three, that would make sense. One to eleven though, that just shows a lack of caring about making timely changes.

Maybe some day Commando will be worth taking past 0/0/4/0, until then I'm glad to see that at least someone is out there for us Commando's trying to make the other trees worthwhile.

I too am sorry to see MasterSynn go, and I made my feelings known about it on the Correspondent Boards. Good luck, Synn, and may our next fearless leader know exactly what he is in for. If the Devs pick Ivoni (which I hope they do), feel free to contact me about any Correspondent questions you might have. To tell the truth, the system is still being set up and still is being played a lot by ear. However, Thunderheart is really working hard to make a great system but unfortunately it will take time.

In all honesty I can't see why they wouldn't pick you Ivoni, you've been here since the beginning fighting for our cause. It'd be a disgrace if you were not picked.

Ivoni has been working hard to improve the commando profession for months and deserves a chance to serve as correspondent. Why might theynot pick him? Well, they don't seem to give much consideration to anything else we request, so I have learned not to expect anything from them. Still, I wish Ivoni the best of luck.

As for myself, I intend to continue playing, at least for awhile. I have to admit that I am losing interest in the game due to all of the bugs and the lack of content. I'm also really bothered by how loosely the DEVs play with the Star Wars mythos. Let's see... I want to play a Jedi, so I have to learn a bunch of different jobs, probably kill lots of things and tackle a lot of boring tasks, then I can start over as a Jedi... Then kill a lot more things.

Anyway, I'm payed up through the end of the year, so I'll still be playing. If things haven't improved substantially by that time, I'm going to cancel my account. In the mean time, I hope to be able to spend time with those of you who play on Gorath. I'll also be posting here from time to time to make a comment or just blow raspberries at the DEVs.

I enjoy all of you. I just couldn't continue wasting time as a Correspondent when everything the DEVs did indicated that we were only there for show.

Synn,
You were definently one of hte best and such a well-thought out post as you stated is worthy of high acclamation. As I replied to your thread on the correspondent forums, I concur with everything you said 101% and I hope you use your talent and hard work for a better cause.

Best regards,
Vemnox

Sad to see you go Synn. Unfortunately SOE has a bad reputation for their handling of their volunteer help for longer than SWG has been around. Often the best people overworked themselves fighting for causes that they really had little to no input into. The correspondent system is an example and the old EQ Guide system was another (slightly different but still volunteers). SOE has all but eliminated guides from EQ which when I started playing many moons ago were actually something you saw on nearly a daily basis doing their duties. Their [SOE] mishandling of the guides resulted in only a select few remaining. Hopefully the correspondent program will not end up as broken.

The players, and the his fellow correspondants stand united.

Another dedicated volunteer lost, another nail in SWG's coffin.

The developers seem to be about as skilled in their communication as they are in their designing and programming.

You're a brave man and a fine soldier in the fight for our cause, the commando cause. I knew this would happen, but it saddens me nevertheless.

I understand your reasons and your action.

It is a very sad day indeed, we see our Correspondent leaving which is a great loss to our community. MasterSynn you have been vital in helping our profession up to this point and I'm sure that everyone here salutes you for it.

I wish you the best Synn, and I might even make a character on your server to say Hi

Thanks Synn, good try.

Corporate cost cutting at work. Very few people are in charge of fixing a huge thing, while they are getting "urgent" messages from to many correspondants. The only way we will win is t remain the squeaky wheel until we get the oil. If we continue to squeak louder and don't give up, we will get our way sooner or later. I think tag-teaming correspondants makes sense, one person can't shoulder the burden for very long...it seems to be a very tough job.
