Thread: Well, it has been 2 months since TH promised us the friday feature

Quick update...Just heard from TH that it is confirmed that JTL is the reason for the lack of communication...That no revamp details will come out until after JTL launches, but when it does launch, to expect BIG news and actions to come quickly...TH even hinted at a surprise in the works that all of us (everyone, not just commandos) will like (he's trying to get approval to spill the beans before he tells us)...Not sure what that would be, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they figured out a way to up the amount of people we can have on the Sandbox...

Did he tell you this specifically, or is it posted somewhere?
It's nice to hear some information, but it'd be even nicer if they could find/make the time to make the announcements to the community themselves rather than have the correspondants do it for them. Would it really kill them to address us all directly for once?
I got the info from a post in the Correspondent Forum...basically started out as an apology that he hasn't been around a lot but that JTL's upcoming launch has put SOE into ULTRA overload...
He mentioned that he might have a public message going up soon, but stressed that no real revamp info would be coming out until JTL launches (which I believe is still set for around 10/27). I'm thinking of adding a JTL countdown to the Commando site just so we can see how much longer we have to wait until we can start poking TH with a stick again...
PS...looks like the "Combat Revamp" may be in for another name change...not sure why, but my guess is it's another Marketing thing (gotta keep them busy with something I guess"...I'm waiting for clearance from TH to share the new name, but as a clue, here's the new Acronym I came up for this whole thing...CUFKATCRFKATCB....can anyone crack the acronym code?

Gee here it is:
From SWG.Stratics.com
The last thing I want to do is contribute to an unfounded rumour but this particular rumour has been floating around for some time now. It appears to be popping up over and over in various places time and time again. Scott submitted an article today from Miss-Match Gaming Network:
I know that this is forbidden from the higher-ups, but we like to let our minds run wild here. I have heard it from the grapevine and have discussed this with a good friend of mine who has also heard the same. Apparently Lucasarts is displeased with the way that SOE (Sony Online Entertainment) has handled Star Wars' MMORPG Galaxies. Now the day after the JTL expansion goes live, they plan to announce the second expansion pack and the divorce between SOE and Lucasarts. They will then give update us on the changes that will be made when Lucasarts takes the controls.
Speculation has gone on that they are looking towards a SWG with no players being Jedi. It is said that Lucas is displeased with the game but excited about it's potential. As a Star Wars fan and a gamer, I think (if this is true) that this will be a turn for the better. Whatever Lucasarts does with it flying solo, it is sure to do Star Wars justice. Stay tuned and we will keep you informed.
An almost identical rumour can be found on Joystiq:
Rumor has it, LucasArts is not happy with the way that Sony has handled Star Wars Galaxies. Sources speculate that once the expansion, Jump to Lightspeed, is launched, Lucas will announce a second expansion pack along with its divorce from Sony. This will be followed by future announcements concerning the changes that will be made once Lucas is commanding the reins. These changes may include the removal of (playable) Jedi in Galaxies. LucasArts would probably have been better off keeping Star Wars in-house in the first place. Lesson learned.
Again, these are only rumours for now. I suppose we'll find out in a couple of weeks.
lol, couldn't resist ![]()
