Thread: Only -Master Commandos- should do the damage we're doing now. A balancing act.
Thanks Heavy....that's my pt exactly. Some ppl haven't played other professions much. I was also TKA and it took over a month to get the commando to do more dmg than my TKA did...and I take WAY more dmg (which I didn't think was possible) as a commando.
Last night on endor we were fighting pumbas....major flame resistance. I still used the FT for the DOT (helps the group) and I was getting 5-800 exp/kill while everyone else was 2k. Ppl that climb the FT tree only are going to find themselves very limited in what they can do.

As a commando since day one (some kind of cheat -- commando on day one.. right!) I've been through the burden of the progression of this class. I'm content with where we're at now, bearing the resolution of our current bugs. My issue is not with the damage we're doing - it's when we're doing it. If we're going to justify commandos doing this much damage, even taking into consideration our accuracy, then we should only grant this damage to high level commandos. What I'd like to see is nerf.
As a Novice Commando who has to switch to his LP at times because the FT is just missing too often, I disagree.
As a Novice Commando who fires firesingle1 and has to wait 18 seconds, I disagree.
Although I have since achieved firecone1 and haven't checked to see if my wait times are decreasing, I feel the Commandoskilltree is quite right.
Have you ever played any other combat type? You don't just one day (the day you get master) start doing more damage, you acquire new special abilities and get better with the weapon through accuracy and speed. Our trees are designed exactly the same way.
They are your points. Do whatever makes you happy.
Want to be a master pistoleer, smuggler pistol line and novice commando.
Help yourself.
How about a Bounty Hunter only to Pistol 4 and then Novice pistoleer and then Novice commando to use every pistol in game?
Knock yourself silly.
Going Flame 4 means you will have great heat damage. However if it's heat resistant, kinda leave you out of luck.
I think it can be safely said that all mastery positions are lacking in their rewards. Hopefully this will be fixed in the future.

Exactly, the flamer is my only gun on hand at all times, so when I got aggroed by something that was 100% heat resistant on Lok it's safe to say i died....so we do need to be prepared or we die just like everyone else.
