Commando Archive
Thread: Alas, the Bunny Slayer will soon be no more.
This makes me sad. I'm out looking for these holocrons, and when I get the message that I need to master dancing, I'll have to drop commando too. And I'll do it in a heartbeat. Everything I've worked for, every nerf I've fought against, every anti-commando post I've banged out a response for will go right out the window. I simply won't care anymore because my desire for a Jedi character is stronger than my desire to play a commando. Something just doesn't seem right about this. ![]()

some help to get you through to master ranger, and some little known facts
1) first thing's first: exploration 4. you must get this first. once you are at expl 4, team up with your local bio engineer and tailor, and get a 3 piece set of field wear clothes that all have + camoflage mods.
2) go to endor, /maskscent, and wander around the smuggler outpost. if you stay within mission spawn range (2 km from op) you will find an abundance of aggressives. with exploration 4 and +camo clothes, you will be just as good at sneaking around aggro creatures as a master scout, and even a master ranger (since ranger gets +conceal, not +camoflage). if you get aggroed, hit peace and run. you might (maybe) take 1-2 hits, but you almost always get away clean.
further, you can double back to creatures you have already snuck by and get xp again. doing this for a few hours at a time will take care of all scout xp you need all the way through to wayfarer and hunt master titles. this is how i got all of ranger hunting, since at the time i had given up all combat xp and became a musician.
3) trap xp: start out in a major city newbie spawn area with as much traps as you can carry, and just run around trapping everything that moves. once you get trapping 3, go to an advanced planet and ask to tag along with a group, with the intention of trapping. by this time, you should have 5 different traps, make a bunch of each, and use them all in rapid succession on your target. by the time you get to the 5th trap, the effects of the first trap will ahve worn off, and you just keep on slingin.
4) survival xp. it's commonly thought that the best way to get survival xp is to get alot of people to pass through your camp. if you look at your 'camp status' you will see a stat that reads 'number of visitors' or something to that effect. this is a multiplier that increases the maximum xp potential for your current camp. it does not increase the rate at which your camp reaches xp cap. for instance, camping solo in a basic camp kit for 1/2 hour will net you 300 survival xp. if 1 person runs through it though, your cap will be bumped up to 330 (or something, i don't know exact numbers). so, while it is nice to have people running through your camp, the best way is to have someone camp with you. for any camp, it will take 10-12 minutes to cap xp with 2 people in it the whole time. pets do not count as people.
what i did for the last 100k survival xp i needed was asked a musician (i was one at the time) if she wanted to jam with me outside the city in a camp, for a little break in the monotony of the cantina. you will find that most entertainers (who aren't 90% afk'ers) will welcome the opportunity for a break from the cantina. regardless of how you do it, get people to stay and hang out with you, and every 12 minutes (assuming your friend is there the whole time), turn your campsite over (disband and place a new one). you'll also get a littlexp for crafting traps and camps, which will help a little ![]()
hope this helps you get to master ranger
if you hvae any questions, or whatever, the folks at the ranger forum have always been very very helpful. enjoy!
Very sorry to see you go, i as well benifited exceedingly from your ocean of wisdom.
i dont remember seeing you post your server, perhaps i missed it, but id be willing to make a char and go afk at your camp at dinner etc to help you along your path to the force.
also on the trapping note...try going after leviasqualls on Rori, because they're tougher they seem to yeild more trapping xp per hit (or perhaps i was imagining it but im farily sure on this) and of course they have the added bonus of being kit-able
take care, i hope you find enjoyment in becoming a ranger/CH and wont shy away from your old commando boards! ![]()

I'm not sure what I'll do once I open my force slot, but I have a feeling I'll grind my way back eventually.
My friend got lucky..he got entertainer (took a day) then told master doc (working on it now)
Other master commando got Master BE - ugh.
Another master commando also got master ranger.
I got bored with Theed and moved to south of Coronet starport so I can dash off to Dant if I feel like it.
Intrepid is such a...kind and sharing server. LOL.
Force Crystal caves is gankfest 101.
Actually the best way to do survival is probably fishing and/or grinding camps.
I got lucky with my cron. Master Architect. Easy to level, and I won't have to give up all of commando.
I just tumble to kneeling macro every second.
They heal me like mad.
Camp maxxes xp in 5 mins.
