Well i had a go on a huuton howler, it took me 5 hits with poweredup thermal detonators to kill it and im a master commando, stats are 3.8821-2316, remember they are AP2 so theres the 25% bonuse per level. I didnt understand some of the hits in the combat spam,some seemed very low(possibly a bug?), they were1128 2418 838 321(?) 3355.


Now if you get lucky and hit the same pool with each, it would obviously take less, but eitherway I think its completely unecnomicalunless you want to spend a couple of million on grenades. However i did get 3955 combat xp from the grenade damage + 395 more combat XP.

Could this be due to our dots?


Just like our dot's don't count up towards loot.. perhaps our dot doesn't cout up towards xp also?

Just wondering.

better solution, which i used to get the entire fs survival line in less than a day's time.


buy up about 15 crates of high damage proton grenades(settle for not less than 1.5k min 3k max) big solo group. go to dathomir. nocuous kamurith missions. they have light armor, no resists. if you hit them with not but grenades, you're looking at 5k + 500(5.5k) combat xp per kamurith. if the group's big enough you can get 5 kamuriths per spawn(difficulty level must be over 115 or so), for a total of over 80k combat xp per lair. you'll be capped in about 3 1/2 missions if you do it right. you can cap out combat xp in around half an hour if you do things right. although the time it takes you to fly all the way to the village, you'll take around50 minto cap, convert, head back, and continue. you can cap at least 3 times per buffset.

Maybe NOT MANY will switch, but, hell, I sure will. On Testcenter 2 I could take out 4 knights coming at me at once with Master Commando, TKM, And Force Ranged Speed and Accy.

Once the lair has been healed back up to at least 50%, /peace again. Toss a few grenades to kill the 5 MOBs which are aggro on you, then wait for more to swarm you. Make sure you are using a weapon in which you have minimal skill while tossing the grenades. As a master Rifleman with a T-21 equipped I only recieve 2500 combat xp, but when fighting unarmed I recieve 3100 combat xp per kill (plus the 10% combat xp for all kills). The two best places I've found to do this are Dantooine (normal quenkers) and Dathomir (Baz Nitches).

Actually it has been brought up in another thread and over in the Jedi Forum...one Jedi even suggeted that Grenades XP should be NERF'd (which has little or no chance of happening)...


Personally I wouldn't be going around singing the praises of how easy it is to get FS XP via exchanging Combat XP stemming from Grenade use...By doing so, you may be increasing the chances that the Devs are going to NERF the Combat XP exchange rate at the very least down to the same exchange rate as other ranged XP...


Many Jedi are pushing to NERF themselves because of how fast people are going up the FS trees via Combat XP...so highlighting how fast you are gaining it might be adding fuel to their fire...

i agree garvin - what most of the people asking for a nerf dont realise though is its impossible to get your hands on enough grenades to progress any faster than any other profession.

I'm sure somewhere there is someone complaining about how we have an unfair advantage... bah..


Me personaly... I'm glad we can get some nice combat exp for the FS trees...

one idea is that us coomandos can see if we can find a weaponsmith who will help us locate resources for gernades,we plant the harvs,ask the weaponsmith to make a schematic for whatever is needed, and bam,pretty much unlimited gernades! obviously this is of course if they will help,but I assume they would since most weaponsmiths don't seem to make em anyway.

I'm on Lowca also and am looking for grenades. looking at that thread about the weaponsmiths and their prices makes me sad because on Lowca when you can even find grenades they are double what those other weaponsmiths make them for sometimes more.

I tryed useing proton nades on Huurton Huntreses(sp) and was getting about 3-5k combat xp a kill, I raked up about 150k in about 45 min.

well,deathbahamut, i have most of resources to make all componets and the thermal detonator itself,but i need thoranium steel,thats it(im only making thermal,no imp detonators, because im not a master,just 4044). the resources i bought are awesome quality, if anyone is looking for what type of resources to get for every crafted item, check out swgcraft.com(most of u prolly know this site already). i checked what resources did the most max dmg,so i got prolly the best on lowca now. if u can help me with resources ill make em in crates for us for free. i know a weaponsmith who will at least make me the schematics,as long as he has nothing to do with crafting(ill run the schematics of sub-componets,then give them to him to make the gernade,voila,crated thermals). contact me in game. the key is don't try to get weaponsmiths to make em,just ask for a schematic.

our HW exp is 900k capped by the way to whoever said it was 300k...
