Yep...great post..and I agree with all the points.....but the short answer from the Devs will be....

lithus, you're forgetting they will be random loot drop off an insane level 98 mob in the middle of a high level mob dungeon AND to boot...



it wont be able to fly. Cause they forgot to put the reactor slot on the ship.

To get back to the current situation of the Commando i can say that i have a bad feeling... it's a bit like "Men in Black" feeling... let me explain.

remember the small pistol which Tommy Lee gaves Will as he started at MiB ? yeah i mean that very small thing which blows big holes of 2,5meters diameter ? i dunno why, but thats what i feel at the moment if i compare my damage output with the one of a pistoleer or smuggler... i'm commando of passion and atm i have the only template which makes any sense MC+MP+Smuggler4010... it's correct, i saved sometimes the butts of my group but... well... a pistoleer with an average crafted pistol makes approx 50 less damage than me.


The AoE's are nice... but not really needful in PvE Combat. As far as i can see the only template to have a damage output approximately identical to a Rifleman is to just choose the MC+MRM combo... but a Rifleman uses his snipershot at a range of 60 to 65 meters... i have to go into 25 meters range to use that shot... and he still deals more damage... if i compare the stats of a crafted T21 Rifle with a crafted PFL... well... it is to sad.

If the Combat gets toocloseto an enemy group, i have no weapon except my pistols to keep in fight because i cant use my commando weapons due to AoE... i would pull the rest and then i just can press the stoppingshot special for the group to flee. If the Commando was intended to be the "last hope for group" i cant understand how anybody comes to the point that we have a offensive rating of 5.


all my mates just say when they see me with my shock-trooper armor and my heavy weapons "wow you look like a gunboat!" .oO( yeah that feels good! *g* ) but the reality is that a pistoleer who just have to be a crowd controller does damage similar to me... sometimes i was outdamaged by a pistoleer


the elemental damage is still not working and i dunno how the commando works or does damage if they just fix that (or just activate it ?). The Proton Rifle is still not working since CU Beta, i've tried it at the CU Beta and it was broken there... i am reallydisappointed to see that this bug still isn't fixed.


I love the style of the Commando and i think i will keep the profession but i hope they will give us the role we can play in combat... the only logical thing for girls and boys with such big toys.... DEAL DAMAGE!


So please Devs, it would be nice if anybody of you could please tell us whats going on with our loved profession, thanks

Another excellent cry from the Back Row, StarNick. Too bad that mass of Jedi in all the front rows, Bounty Hunters and smugglers in the middle rows, are just drowning you out.


AoE of 1 or 0 splash damage cannot possibly be "working as intended" unless "intended" is to get a commando incapped/killed on his/her first shot with a weapon when the entire lair targets the guy with the LBC. Actually, I've used this like the Rescue (Ranger) command might work, except on multiple critters instead of single NPCs. If a friend is surrounded and getting pummelled, one shot from a LBC gets everything running my way. At which point, Burst Run is my Friend.

After reading this commentary from the fan fest... I feel tired. I loved commando, but I really

don't see where the devs are taking it. The role is drifting further and further from what we

used to be and becoming what? Aggro machines? If they say crowd control again I'll scream,

as there are other professions and combos that do that and damage as well.


I never ever thought I'd say this, but if they do give us one last respec as they say in the

announcement forum, and have not given any indication of returning our profession to what

it should be it is very tempting to hang that commando hat for the last time.

what i wouldnt give for one weapon with armor piercing.


commandos are commandos because we can take a bad thing and make it better. some of us have survived since the game's inception and made do even with nerf after nerf. many people, like myself, retain commando as the only elite profession they have never dropped because it is a cause worth fighting for. This is something that people can get behind- these causes give the commando profession focus and definition. half of being a commando isnt even in the game. it's here, on the forums, raising your voice to deaf ears.


half of being a commando is being a part of this community right here.


the other half is hoping for that forgotten patch to hit that will bring us to a new era of commando goodness.

Fine, then make the damage output on the AOE lower than the regular attack, maybe 50% or something, 0 or 1 is TOO LOW to work, aside from generating aggro.
