Jedi XP is3 times harder to get than normal profession XP. In that time that you got 1 Mil, a jedi doing the same would have been getting about 333K or so. Now, to get to full template, it can require 36,460,000 jedi XP. Where a Carbineer requires 4,891,000 Carbine XP. See the diff?

Carbineer 4.9Mil at 3K per kill = 1,633 Bols

Jedi 36.5Mil at 1K per kill = 36,500 Bols

Yeah.....that looks like a weekend grind to me. The Jedi could have ground up to Master Carbine 22 times..TWENTY-TWO times! SO, if you can get Master Carbineer in a week, It would still take a jedi almost 6 Months to complete his template. Assuming he isn't killed a few times and set back a Million or 2 XP. Sorry, your "jedi have it too easy" whining is incorrect.

I cant respec, so I like it. I was CL +70 now down to 52 to work my way on a new profession Commando and then down again to work on a new to build my new temp. If that would take months then I would not play anymore.

We have Jedis and more will come. So? If thats the population of the game, then why mess around. I think it better if SOE started to work on the other professions. Take a pause on Jedi and look at maybe Commando, Smuggler, Entertainers, Doctors and so on. Theres alot that can be done. And if I had the power I would help. Can't have focus on just one that destroy the game.

Of course you can!

You forgot a great percentage of the new influx probably want to be Jedi's and going from my guild alone alot of the vets are going Jedi as well.

Jedi = $$$$$ to SOE, so why the hell should they bother with the bothersome other profs.. we dont really matter anyway? Do we??

You only get full XP (meaning around 6k per kill) once you hit CL54. Until then, you get progressively higher XP. I'm sitting at L28 on one of my characters, and I get about 2.1k per kill. Its by no means "too fast". All it means is that once you master one profession, picking up a second is easier, which is good IMO. Same goes for switching professions.

Pre-CU i could grind more then 1.1 mil per hour. I could cap xp (900k I think was pre-cu cap. It's been so long I cant remember). I could cap that in half an hour, easy. And im sorry, but their xp thing they did took way to long. Half an hour gave me 50k xp. No. Just, no. Plus, as Bate pointed out, it hurts commando.

I am starting to agree. All the grinding I did post CU was on my CL80 character and it seemed insanely fast capping multiple XP within a 2-3 hr session. I have been building my MRM/Master Commando lately and after three intense grind sessions I am lingering at CL22. So I think it is paced well for the new player and vet alike. I like the fact that I can change profs relatively quickly if need be and even doing some FS xp grinding doesnt seem too fast. As a casual player I think XP is about right for me.

The thing is Post CU you can do what ever prof you want because you are nowhere near as good as Pre-Cu, even without Buffs.

Mobs are Levelled against Groups not individuals. Even without Buffs and just with Brandy i could take on moderately hard stuff like mountain squill, boccatts etc with a little bit of difficulty but i could do it, now its damn right ludicrous to take on a CL80 lair by yourself and survive.

This grouping stuff is great, i love to group and i play with guildies but been made to group just to be able to have fun is stupid and i do think will hurt the game in the long run.

By the way ill repeat myself im a casual player and i think its too much xp.

Also if your having problems levelling Commando, your doing something wrong. I did it in 3 days using only a launcher pistol with a group of CL60+ from the MO. Maybe try doing another prof first then youll be about CL54 or so.

My definition of casual player: 'Someone who plays less than 3 hours a day and not necessarily every day'

Ditto, the more XP the better. I've been playing this game for over two years, and the grind is pointless. You do not progress through experience but through mindless repetion, so that you can access content. I say, give more XP!!!

Not since I was a noob has it taken longer then a week to gain any proffession in the game with the solo exception of Master Merchent.

spin groups have been almost since the game started, most of us Pre CU / Pre forced group ran most of our missions solo.

back when you could run missions on dant and make a million easy in a few hours.

Also there are those of us grinding jedi still, 1.2 million exp is not much when we get 1 Force skill point for every 30 combat exp point.

Crafting is the same way, if you have the resources you can become a master Shipwright in about 1-2 hours.

I capped HW and pistols at 1.2excanged it and recapped HW and had 700k in pistols before i logged out of the group I was in a 8 player (7 jedi) spin group, also made about 500k in credits in same time which was about 2 hours.

considering I could do this solo back before the group nurf, and then again pre CU in groups same way my guess is this will always be like this

I wouldn't mind it if Jedi took the same amount of time as any other profession.

What SOE needs to do is make it far more difficult to BE a Jedi, not to become a Jedi. As long as the only thing that stands between Anakin-wannabes and their sabers is time, they'll keep coming. Make Jedi an extremely difficult experience, and you won't see as many of them.

B.S.

people will do what every it takes to get a glow stick, I have had CL1 players ask for help to get the required stuff for the first old man visit....... CL1 they could not even do the grind yet but were trying to find a short cut to the glow stick.
