Nah, StarNick is a newb. I'd own him in PvP. We're good friends

This was the exact template I was thinking of doing I really miss guns and I've never done commando but always wanted too. I was a tka and i loved it, currently i'm a fencer/doc..but I was thinking MC/TKA/and touch of pistoleer.
So its a good combo you'd say?
I would say listen to starnick if he has "been there and done that."

I'm Master Commando/ TKM/ dirty fighting 3 and it is awesome. In pvp:That punk is running away from you? Then Low blow until he is on the ground. Then KD/dizzt and flame him to death.
In PvE: again low blow will stop kiters. Then stack as many flame dots as possible and go unarmed and tank. You will kill everything even enemies with 100% heat and kenitic resists, but it will take a while.
I never tried Pistoleer/Commando so I don't know how good that is.

Ok, I think I'm going to try: TKM/Master Commando/Dirty fighting 3. But honestly, how good can the dirty fighting pistol 3 be without any pistol speed or a ccuracy from psitoleer? Would I even be able to get a ranged knockdown using lowblow?

Trust me... Dirty Fighting III is the best pistol investment in terms of skills that you can possibly make. You might miss the first few shots, but you're bound to land one within a few seconds given the fast refire rate of pistols.
Once they're KD'd you can unload on them with your best gun as well (in my case, this is spamming last ditch with my geonosian blaster... I tried flaming someone on the ground once, but that didn't end well.)

Personally, I love my pistols, and my flamers, so I'm going for Master Commando and Master Pistoleer. I'll have level 3 in one TKA tree - probably Precision Striking to be able to get the extra defenses, 'cos I would actually bother attacking anything while unarmed if i'm a Master Commando and Pistoleer.
And, of course, the other advantage of this set-up is that, eventually (very, very far down the line) I'll be able to both wear Mandalorian armour and dual-wield pistols - yay!

I love master commando/master pistoleer/smuggler 0030. Very good combo for me. Dual weilding pistols is only gonna be for masters, so just think, 2 LPs takin out turrets like nothing. It will be sweet, plus the new DE-10 is just plain awesome, mine does 550 dmg.

Well i have come to love the point blank attacks with commando.... (pointblank area is nice)
so i would suggest getting 4040 pistoleer
you have the point blank single and area 2 good dodge and some crazy def mods from the techs along with some nice pistol moves for your lp
i might suggest getting 4140 the marksmen thingy that mutlipies the aim command would be useful for a rocket launcher.
My build is gonna be tkm commando 0040
pistoleer 4040
i might tweak it along the way!

I don't think you can go wrong with either, to be honest. Both TK and Pistoleer have benefits and drawbacks. I would give TK an edge in PvE combat, and Pistoleer a slight edge in PvP (although neither template would realistically beat a FOTM guy). I'm having a lot of fun with Pistoleer/Commando/Rogue on Bria right now, but thought about the mediation line from TK rather than Dirty Fighting.
I guess for PvP the main difference is range. Commando specials have a 16m leash on them; TKs are obviously a melee profession, and Pistoleer is also most accurate up close and personal. However, Pistoleer CAN back off to kiting range if the situation calls for it to stay out of harm's way.
For now I'll stick with my current build but may play around with some TK dabbling in the future. As for losing in PvP to the FOTM guys and barely getting by against everyone else.... I play to have fun, not to be leet and pwn everyone in sight. I can take a loss in a good fight and have fun. I have more pride in playing a profession template that every Tom, **edit**, and Harry isn't running to, and I've even been known to wear my Faction armor or Padded

Why go Master Commando? why not just get Flame tree and use the skill points on other areas. When i was on kauri server i played master commando for months and the only weapon that was useful was the flame thrower. Seems the rest of the trees are pretty much useless.
What about Commando (Flame tree only), TKM, Pistoleer (0/0/4/4), Master Rifleman. Not sure u would have enough skill points, but would be interesting... or instead of Master Rifleman how about Master Swordsman, there Hammer weapon with blast damage comes in handy.

My current template is Master Pistoleer, 0/0/4/0 Commando, 0/0/4/0 Smuggler, 0/0/0/4 TK, 2/0/0/0 Medic.
Personally, I love it. I get to use the only decent line in the Commando tree (IMO), I have the great pistol specials from Smuggler and the speed and defensive mods from Pistoleer and the added defense mods in TK. Plus I can use stim B's and stop bleeds.
Highly recommended. Now, if they will only give us wookies decent armor....
