After the revamps this should not be the case anymore, from what i've heard there going to cap the speed of rifles so they can't ever get that low with loot or powerups... only weapon that should be able to fire in the 1 - 2 second range is pistols..
I'm talking about a WS made non-loot T21, damage sliced with a powerup. 750 max damage, StrafeShot2 in PVE for up to 6000 damage. I do have a speed tape though. Which anyone can get for a mere 500k.
My T21 DPS
Note the 3800 DPS with Strafe2, before AP increase. Factoring in AR and resists, that can go up to about 7500 DPS.
Similar WS rifle in the hands of someone with no tape. (Rifle I had when I first mastered Rifles.)
A standard Rifleman's DPS.
Still a max DPS of 1549.0, Resist increase up to 3000.
This DPS is still much higher than Commando's weapons, from a greater range, can be all on one unhealable pool, doesn't drop nearly by the same degree as armour increases...
Edit: Since you're from Starsider, you'll know what I mean when I say that the rirst rifle I bought in an auction from Mira Mar, the second came straight off BurningVulcan's vendor in BeneTasia and got a 33% Damage slice.

Thanks for that site, quite interesting.
It's a shame that it doesn't incorporate the Commando line, as I'm sure some hard figures on that would be nice.
I entered in my Standard Heavy Particle Beam Cannon in, with with 70 speed mod Commando's get at Master, and it came out something like this:
http://killyourpc.org/swg/swg_dps.php?weapon_min=2000&weapon_max=3400&weapon_speed=5.7&pc_speed=70&class=Rifle
I think in fairness we can only compare the "normal" line of things.
However, should someone manage to get their hands on +20 HPBC Speed Tapes, the damage works out to something akin to:
http://killyourpc.org/swg/swg_dps.php?weapon_min=2000&weapon_max=3400&weapon_speed=5.7&pc_speed=90&class=Rifle
I have to say the Speed mods on the Flamethrower are indeed a touch pitiful.

I'd hardly call doing 7k+ with a single shot "a dark place".....
Sure, your profession has issues, but so do they all.
Thanks for the response though. Possibly something for me to push in the Artisan Forum in that case, to either get Heavy Weapon Powerups created, or for the Ranged Powerups to apply to Heavy Weapons......
As for grenades, they're covered by Grenade Powerups.
Divide that by the average time it takes to actually hit the target. 7-9 sec normal delay + 7-9 seconds for every miss then add for +counter+ thats 30 seconds, so actually that is 233 damage average, but that is if you can do 7k worth of damage.
Most Commandos can only do 4k or less with a good FT and those are rare.
Just a thought.

Yes, riflemen can do that damage with a non-loot enhanced rifle.
I am a master rilfeman/master commando.
I don't own any loot enhanced rifles (unless you count the DXR6, because it requires the looted power cores).
My strafe shot 2 will do 4k damage a second if I have a speed power up on my T21.
I am.. how do you say... the bane of turrets.

Yeah, but how much lag can a rifleman cause? With my LP, and LagShot 3, I pwn everyone!
